Thoughts on the Hero Talents preview?

Thoughts on the Hero Talents preview they put out today?
My thoughts are:
Mountain Thane Warrior: is my favorite
Chronowarden Evoker Sounds fun would have to play it.
San’Layn Death Knight Not a big Fan of it as a class at all so no strong feelings on that either way since idk the base class that well.
Lightsmith Paladin probably sounds like least exciting to me of the one’s shown today.

EDIT:

No warlock stuff so I didn’t bother reading it

Lightsmith paladin, specifically how the armaments are given to your party needs to be changed. The Lightwell style of having your party or raid move to get a buff is really bad.

If you think balance is bad now, just wait for this atrocity to go live.

One of my talents is literally just a better brez

I’m gunna have to take that everywhere and just be the brez bot

Doesn’t seem to live up to the announcement. Looking forward to them re-working many of the already announced trees before release, otherwise there appears to already be clear winners and losers.

The most bizarre thing is the introduction of trees with little lore alongside those that have been around since the RTS days. I would be pleasantly surprised if we got any quests and lore explaining this, as right now it’s just random and feels very bad.

I find it a mix between corruption type random effects like we had during Nyalotha and the Covenant trees but no conduits. Kind of a neat concept.

It doesn’t seem exciting to me to be honest. It looks like passives and modifiers.

more buttons sounds like trash

Link? Where can I find it

People really get excited so easily.

‘‘OMG AMAZING NEW ADDITION’’ … just joking … just feels like an iteration on artifact weapon talents, azerite talents/armor, so on and so forth.

Nothing interesting, nothing exciting that is for sure.

Just an easy way for them to do something and sell it to the roleplayers.

It’s just a fancy extension of the talent tree that doesn’t add new rows in the same section, so as not to seem too cluttered. Most of it is passives and the entire point of the new talent system was to be able to expand. Which is what this is doing. So it’s fine.

as a spriest player, I felt this comment deep in my marrow.
Then I saw a Monk made it.
Together, brother, together.

a 5% chance to have a 5% chance of a 5% increase to something for 5 seconds.
I love being able to clearly choose between two talents that require spreadsheets to calculate throughput.

EDIT:
Honestly these have a feel like SL covenants when first announced.
They promised they’d be able to keep those balanced as well so there was no significant difference or advantage between one or the other there too.

Narrator: they did not.

So more talent tree nodes in a different window?

Were you there for the announcement where you get to pick from different trees

The talents seem underwhelming, but I’m fine with this. My main hope is for the hero talents to offer cosmetic variations.

I mean, it is interesting how they augment the specializations but eh… I wanna see more before I have any deeper thoughts regarding them.

ngl I don’t know why people are surprised. We saw the Druid hero talent trees at Blizzcon.
