I’m surprised they’re doubling down on these lame talents. We don’t really need more. They need to come up with something that lets them give us “something new” without throwing us bones like this.
It’s disappointing they made all the 4 previews into half heal(sup?)-tank hero talents, you’d think they’d know most of the player population is DPS centered. lol
I was expecting and hoping for Legion levels of keystone talents where you got spec defining new abilities like Apocalypse, not a bunch of boring new passives.
I think we need to see it in action before we can really dismiss it as bad. Everyone saying they want more than just new passives I certainly don’t want to many new abilities most classes are already bloated with way to many abilities.
EDIT: I hope it brings some really amazing looking animations etc to the classes or lets some classes use different weapon combos
They’re about what I expected - passives that strengthen specific abilities based on the theme.
I do dig the Mountain Thane tree for Warriors. More thunder and lightning is always a plus in my book. I’m more curious to see the new visual effects they keep eluding to.
This is why we can’t have nice things. People are unable to think critically about how these will actually function in game. There is nothing all that innovative about anything they have shown thus far, and no one should be at all surprised. Blizzard got their hype from Snorconn, padded their sales numbers sure, but when you dig into these…I can’t believe people still fall for the hype train.
already mentioned in the Nobbel video/interview. There are no visual changes to the characters.
Absolutely stoked for Lightsmith.
It was my point of hype when the first announced hero talents, and it looks like an absolute blast to play as Holy.
i love it each spec gets 2 hero trees
Hit the nail on the head there.
They know they can do the bare minimum and still get pat on the back for some ‘‘super exciting, knock your socks off’’ thing which… it never is.
Then you’ll get the people come in and tell you ‘‘if you don’t like it, then go away’’ or some non sense like that. I’m just annoyed that having at least slightly raised expectations is frowned upon so all you see here, or anywhere is just excitement for the super ordinary things.
There 'ya go. Let’s rename HERO TALENTS to Azerite Talents or CLASS Talents and be done with it. It’s like APPLE when they release a new product and use a buzz word for marketing and it just ends up being the same thing with 1 slight change or whatever.
Yet people throw money at it.
I’ll never get the hype.
I think you misunderstood because they showed a short clip of some new spell animations in the announcement of Hero Talents
Only misunderstood what you meant. Yes spells will have to have an animation, it will likely be “new” with previously used assets. But as far as someone being able to look at your character and saying “that’s a lightsmith” that aint happening.
Yup. Just some ‘‘bigger’’ or slightly flashier animations.
Which is just them hooking the role players since if it also gave some look to you or something then that would be something I’d be sold on.
Not a slightly flashier spell/attack .
They should of reintroduced the glyph system to do something like this.
Yeah that part is sad like why even introduce it yet if you’re not going to make it stand out like that. It’s what they’ve always done though give us half baked stuff and fix it up later so they can make it a big exciting feature in an upcoming patch.
I will make my judgement in like 8 month when the game gets released
They could have just tacked these onto the existing trees. I don’t see anything heroic about them. It’s new talents in a new window. It’s like they almost got there but couldn’t pull the trigger. As usual…
I wonder if warlocks will be able to summon a pitlord?
Or id demon hunters will be able to have some orcish inspired hero talents… would be the perfect time to broaden the demon hunter races.
Do you mean as a permanent pet? Because Demo can summon one as a 10sec temporary pet right now if you spec into Gul’dan’s Ambition on the left side of the spec’s talent tree.
I wonder if they will be actual player choice involved or if tier sets are just going to force you into one or the other constantly. Because they seem to really like forcing certain talents with tier sets this expansion.
I had the impression hero talents were going to be this big thing that changes how specs play and really go into spec/class fantasy… but it’s just “5% increase in damage in x” “Have a longer cooldown but do 10% more damage”. I don’t really care for hero talents that much to be honest.
I had no idea!!
