I would love this, especially since it would make some people so mad. I love the thought of that, people I don’t like just fuming over something trivial.
They should revitalize PvP, make it better, and make it so if you have a certain rating you can purchase those old sets.

I’d be in agreement on this, simply because of just how messed up PVP is right now, then again with how much they over design PVE raids and stuff now, same could be said about it honestly. Nobody really “works” for elite sets anymore, especially in PVP because you either have a premade or you’re getting razed in capture the flag and other BGs that require teamwork, it isn’t a test of skill anymore just a question of who has the right people and can stunlock first.
(I learned this the hardway trying to solo blitz BGs, we almost always lost because folks weren’t team players and didn’t do the most obvious things to prevent a push over match)
In the very least they shouldn’t be fomo, add them to a vendor that requires being 1800-1800+ a season, though considering that getting to elite is just awful right now I wouldn’t even suggest that as a true solution. It’s an accessibility issue, plain and simple, they COULD do the above mentioned, but if they do they’re gonna have to make PuG BGs viable.

I have Elite Gear, I say open it up.
It’s very weird that people insist Elite Gear needs to remain locked. There’s a huge disparity between PvE & PvP rewards. Why can I go back and farm old Mythic gear, but players can’t go back and get old Elite sets.
Hell, I think most people would be satisfied if they stayed rating-locked but available.
FOMO defenders and epeen losers ruin things once again I suppose!
There are plenty of trophies in the game.

There’s a shoulder mog called “Mantle of Hideous Trophies” sadly I cannot mog it on Night Elf/Haranir.
The inside part actually sticks through the biceps (upper arm).
Was why I was hoping to hit 1800 last season for:
only to crash and burn in all the PuGs post 1600+ because folks wouldn’t cooperate.

No you dont, atleast none of the good ones.
Because elite sets are seasonal rewards and the mythic raid isnt removed.
Easy to say when at best you only have 1800 sets.

I do not use any of my old elite sets. And I say do not give anyone any of my old elite sets they are mine. No socialism for wow.

I just think old rewards should be left alone, almost everything is simply a product of its time.
Do what they did in Legion and make revamped old sets, like the revamped tier 6 they did for Tomb of Sargeras, if people want it so much.
It’s basically a remaster of the set, like the anniversary ones.
But still different from the originals.

At this point, it’s basically like PVE Mythic, you pay someone to run you through your BGs or get a friends group and camp the same BGs over and over, it’s not really even a prestige trophy at this point, it’s just gating rewards from folks who tried and failed because of circumstance and bad luck.
So much this, many of these old elite sets aren’t even really worth it from a graphical pixel count standpoint, and it’s kinda annoying having a piece that has good form but either isn’t the right color texture/shade or so low poly it drags the rest down. Devs should implement new mogs in the same design and form as the old ones, but with armor dye capabilities. Two birds, one AI stone.
Pretty sure it was 2100 for elite mogs in legion.
It was 2000 in Legion.
I think they could bring them back as a 2100 3s reward, like win 50 games and you can buy 1 old elite set per alt per season as this would encourage people playing alts.
The most likely thing is just that they never make a return, though.
