The leak pretty much just said it’s like an arcane mage/chronomancer/timewalker, it seems interesting but they can’t even balance out arcane right now…
prob why they are stripping out the theme so they can design it properly without having the burden of mages baseline kit being overloaded already

There are actually so many great ideas for class/spec design over the years in regards to MMO’s, I really wish they’d take some notes from other games.
Dark Age of Camelot had the best classes. I only ever played as Albion but Minstrel, Theurgist, Necromancer, Heretic, and Cabalist were so cool and unique.

I hoped the “micro class” leak was real, but it was just a 4th spec for a few classes.
Mages, Hunters, Priests and Warrior can do a small quest/scenario at any level, to learn a new 4th spec.
Mages
- Chronomancer - Time Based Healer
Warrior
- Dragon Knight - 2h Tank
Priest
- Bard
Hunter
- Tinker
Classes that do not get a 4th spec will receive new class skins, with a 4th spec coming in future updates.

They stripped Demo to make DH and it hasn’t been the same since. So I can see them doing it to Arcane.

Well the thing is that Arcane doesn’t really have anything to steal, unless they want a class with 2-3 specs that just spams arcane missiles

Such a shame because demo lock used to feel like a wholly unique spec. Then they made DH which feels like a reskinned ww with better tools but a more degenerate dmg profile and a more simple playstyle.

They really dropped the ball in Pandaria but not having a “Shadow” spec for monks, and they’re doing it again here.
I don’t think it necessarily had to come in Pandaland, I think when Monks came out they were designed pretty well, they have just been on a steep decline since. =/
I also think adding in 1 Class is very bland and boring. If you do not play that class, or with it in some way, then nothing really changes.
Giving 3-4 new specs is better than 1 class imo, and separating them into “New “Micro” Classes” so people have to re-level is just kindof dumb.
Don’t ruin Arcane to make Evoker work.
Make a Chronomancer 4th spec, and revamp Arcane if you have too.
Then you eventually open up other classes to new specs like:
Paladin - Templar
Death Knight - Bonemancer
Shaman - Earthwarden Tank
Demon Hunter - Fel Stalker (Fel Barrage, etc)
Monk - Blademaster or Shado-pan Trap Assassin
Rogue - Apothecary
Warlock - Djinn
