Thoughts on F-tier not waiting for Pikaboo to reconnect in game 2 against F-tier?

Seems like only random duelists and pika fans actually are upset over it while 0 good players including the move don’t actually care, enjoy!

Also it states in the rules we’re required to kill if their is a disconnect. !

Well, congrats on winning the series man. It paid off.

Nice rage bait Swolé-emerald-dream!

I don’t know what happened as i didnt see it but im gonna make an assumption that a team was basically granted a free win cause of a disconnect.

this should be extremely simple. if a player disconnects the match should be void by the tournament. it should be as if that particular match never happened. the game is to be played with the understanding that its fair. if the people putting on the match dont have that as a rule then i dont even know what to say. thats ridiculous. if disconnects are happening at a rate that is more than like once every 20 matches or something the player shouldnt be able to participate. its seems so unbelievably simple to me i honestly dont understand how we could ever have this question in the first place.

feral priest pally is designed to damp people, its why the game looked worse and worse for ftier as they went to 8 min.

if they waited 2 min for pika to get back on, they have 6 min left before everything they do is significantly worse than what the move does.

lay is excellent in dam, so is bop(esp compared to what ftier has). void leech is the best thing u can have going into damp.

all the fury self heals become trash in damp, saul rarely heals, but instant healing surge and earth shield are also turbo trash in damp.

on the dmg side of things, ftier doing dmg has a much higher opportunity cost than the move doing dmg.
as seen at the end of each game. the move can just dot up the stacked cleave and then walk away with freedom/shifting and when damp is high enough, it simply became unhealable and f tier could not push in anymore. every game was like this

waiting is just disadvantageous for them

I’m certainly not mad. I enjoyed seeing the better team ultimately win the match. And then in the very next match, a team with class waited for the dc and then won. Hmm, makes you think…

The team with class was also up in the series and had been dominating The Move with mirror comp all expansion. F-Tier was playing Turbo (Their mains) which arguably isn’t very strong right now even in casual ladder 3s. Money was on the line and the teams shouldn’t be blamed for the decisions they make when Blizzard should be the one at fault for not having systems in place for these kinds of situations.

Forcing teams to come up with made up rules due to lack of development by Blizzard into their own AWC Tourney isn’t right to do.

I respect your opinion but fundamentally disagree. Class is waiting for the opponent to actually be able to fight back. Not doing so simply because you want money is in fact the opposite of class, in my opinion. Blizzards part is irrelevant as far as i can honestly tell. Also, if the money was of such importance why wouldn’t F tier play the comp that is the most likely to get them that money? If theirs was so weak as you say. Those two things don’t line up.

Not everyone is as comfortable with multi-classing as Pikaboo. The dudes an anomaly when it comes to picking up classes and just rolling to Rank 1. But it also could be a multitude of factors like they maybe expected Feral nerfs (lol wild this hasn’t happened all expac), or maybe they expected Enh Sham buffs to make them more viable. It’s a roll of the dice and they got the short end of the stick on class balance. And yes when money is on the line for people who actually need the money all bets are off, especially when you’re already down a match.

Classy or not, yea it might not have been a classy thing to do so I agree with you here. But I also think being classy doesn’t really apply in a professional tournament with a bag on the line.

Pikaboo in his stream last night said if they were down a game in F-tiers shoes they would have done the same thing. And while watching Sauls stream Drake came into the stream and said if they were down 0-2 in a match (as long as the match wasn’t a mirror) they wouldn’t of waited either.

It seems like if it’s a mirror match the likely hood of them waiting might be higher due to neither team having any advantage other than skill. But when class balance comes into play it becomes a lot more difficult of a decision and isn’t so black and white.

It was Prevy’s team, so yeah an odd one out. But I also think those players just simply have more respect for the competition than f tier does. I personally don’t have issues with DC kills, unless the ones killing on DC are super BM about it or something. This is an unfortunate byproduct of not having LANs, and people just gotta suck it up.

It is not. FPX is designed to setup on players by creating a 3v1, as are most spri/melee comps with very few outliers. The comp can dampen people ,but it doesn’t dampen better than true dampeners because you have a melee that is extremely easy to pull into a bad spot.

It’s like saying L$D is a dampener when it can jsut as easily play the 30s-2m game.

But these are irrelevant. Regrowth and Smend are also weaker in damp, and hpal becomes much more reliant on its cds than its healing as dampening goes on, meaning that the team with the more aggressive damage (disc turbo) has a lot less to worry about in the game as all they have to do from there on is not choke and they can rotate cds into a winning position, as they have more cds to throw out with objectively more utility to get there.

If you’ve ever actually played this matchup, you’d know that turbo actually controls the pace of the game the entire time, and the only reason they don’t is because of extremely coordinated gameplay from the FPX. Wizk/absterge alone can carry the team to their wincon because of how good they are together, but also individually. The burden of execution is FAR harder on the FPX than it is on the turbo, as all the turbo needs to do is make the feral or spri mess up one go, and the whole game is shifted in their favour.

But hey, what do I know, I just qed the comp for 3 expacs.

you mentioned

im glad you brought this up - these guys are clearly anomolies. im glad you have 3 years of xp but you can’t use your ladder experience to judge how this particular matchup goes. any other SP flops in 2 min

the way they played that matchup, ftier was heavily unfavored in damp

I would agree with this…but ONLY because they had Absterge on Hpal. Right now Hpal seems to be an insane option in Damp with Bops, Sac, and other cooldowns that aren’t strictly heal % based etc. I think the only thing really making comps stronger in damp right now is the HPally healer.

yea i was surprised that ftier didnt bring shaz on hpal as its his main and his mana is rlly good on hpal, but maybe it’s so they could have another purge for all the bops and freedoms?

lay not being affected by damp is lowkey criminal to other healers when hpal already has so many good tools in damp

You can’t do this, then if someone is losing they can just alt-f4 to reset the game

Right which is why if they keep doing it they just can’t que. Like it would be easy to implement a system that checks for dcs at what rate or at what health percentage. If it happens more than x number of times in x amount of time…you are no longer allowed to que…or at least not allowed to que for a few days or something.

No system is full proof that’s why tournaments like this need LAN to atleast create an environment with some integrity.

Either way wow is inconsistent when it comes to DCs, some times I will go months with no problems other times I’ll get back to back to back DCs all night only inside instanced zones.

Is it classy when Pika makes meme videos of struggling 1400 players in greens getting cc’d so he can take a selfie cam pic? Just wondering.

They shouldn’t of been playing fotm if they wanted class!

Hpal is terrible into feral sp if ur not also playing feral sp. Also Shaz mains Priest, I’d say it’s also his best healer followed by pres evoker then his 3rd best healer being hpal.

I’ve never waited for anybody ever. Always just kill and go next. Sux if someone’s having internet issues but you can’t expect 5 other people to wait around not knowing
