What if they had servers for vanilla, bc, and WotLK and you could mirror your char from a vanilla server to a bc server to a WotLK server. Level my toon to 60 on vanilla, mirror him over to bc so he's on both servers but stays vanilla on vanilla and can do BC on BC. That way you get the best of both worlds. Or just level a toon on the BC or WotLK server from the getgo. Just curious of people's thoughts on it.
I'm all for vanilla but it would be cool to see BC and WotLK again as well with the option to always return home to vanilla.
Sure the interest for each may not be there but then just make like one or two servers of each so people are lumped on those. Everyone seems to have a favorite expansion as they each have pros and cons and it would be sweet to see them all again. Start with vanilla, then drop a BC server, then a WotLK. Sure it's a lot of work but it would make a lot of people happy. As I said, it's just an idea and I want feedback, not a bunch of people freaking out.
Edit: I mean realistically they said the big issue was reverting 7.3 back to vanilla and removing all the stuff. How hard is it then to just add the next expansion content to it? Just feel like as players this gives us endless options of exploring each expansions leveling/endgame content at the original designated levels. Maybe I wanna be 60 and raid MC or be 80 and do ICC etc.
TBC is a greater polished game than vanilla.
Wrath was the most popular period in wows time ... not sure about it vs tbc.

IMHO wraths popularity was only due to the game sbefore it. Wrath had very little sub growth.
it also started the dumbing down of the game.

I certainly had more fun in wrath dungeons than any other time. Early TBC (and all of vanilla), AE tanking did not happen (for warriors), you could cleave and tab around to hold threat on a few mobs (a lot more with thunderfury), but you could not really hold threat with DPS going ham on each target.
Unfortunately paladins could AE tank quite well in early TBC similarly druids also held better ae threat... this led to late tbc\wrath AE tanking for all tanks and eventually cata "threat doesn't matter anymore". So I think the game was dumbed down in the name of balance (at least as far as tanking goes), the smarter people were already using mechanics that were not the norm to achieve more efficient success.
I do like the challenge of TBC, the attunements were great, professions were powerful and the only bad thing was the content release (which can now be sped up since its all done). I think wrath (despite beginning the dumbing down) still had enough draw from the hardmode fights, and completing the meta mount achieves.
Regardless of your opinion on each expansion, this gives everyone their favorites and allows people to play each one how they please rather than forced to play classic when it comes out or retail. Just trying to keep the options open. This will cause some issues with expansion patch content releases but I would still be interested to see what happens. Rerelease classic as if it's 2004 all over again and then slowly go from there with each expansion on different servers.
I'm actually banking on this. After I kill Ke'Thuzzad I want to march right into Outland and mirror my character. In Classic wow I'll be playing a Troll Warrior but in BC I'll Roll elf Pally. Carry them through Wrath and I don't really want to play Cata past Dragon Soul. I reckon I'll be done with wow for good in during the last few days of Firelands.
im down for it after 2-2.5 years of vanilla
the answer is no.
its not a possibility, we are getting classic

Blizzard will only entertain this idea if Classic is successful. They won't waste their time and resources if it isn't. I personally would play both tbc and wotlk. Tbc for the pure fun and blood elves =) Wrath for wintergrasp haha miss that place

you are absolutely out of your mind
wotlk had arguably the most polished pvp in the game as well as the highest skill cap
Only reason I signed the vanilla petition was I viewed it as a stepping stone to TBC. Hopefully they release TBC classic before I bore of vanilla classic.
Absolutely LOVED LK, joined wow in late BC so cant say much bout vanilla or BC, BUT i loved the talent tree, far less cookie cutter then, plus hybrid spec options. Admittedly the class/spec utility was more limited (Prot war for MT, pally/druid as OT, Holy priest as tank heals, disc and resto shammy as raid heals, etc.), but that was also part of the charm, you KNEW when you specced a certain way, that was gonna be your role. some special ppl managed to spec in certain ways where a ret pally could tank and dps well, some warriors had better survivability while still being a dps, frost mage was always tops on CC, but every1 still had that niche that they fit. And the socializing, you actually had to collect a group and GO TO THE INSTANCE or await a summon. I want classic wow back
No expansions. If you want expansions, play retail.
I don't think I want them anymore if it means there all going to run the BfA client...
Ive never had nostalgia for TBC/WOTLK/CATA/MOP/WOD/LEG, so thats a nope from me.
I only have nostalgia for Vanilla (Pre-Cross Battlegrounds)

Imo wintergrasp is the greatest battle ground in the WoW. So many fun memories from that zone, yes thats right not only was it a bg, it was a zone.
Players often stayed around and fought for resources or glory even if the other faction controlled it. Good times. I would play wrath nearly only for wg.

No mirroring. If anything, they should have progression servers that progress to that expansion gradually. This would also cater to the people who like to start fresh.

Actually I watched it all on the Q&A as well as panel and they said they would see what the community wants to do.
