Thoughts and Suggestions for Battleground Blitz

Right now there’s two new blood dk posters on the pvp forums, and they both have exactly 31 honor level. Something’s strange in the neighborhood…

I don’t mind AB, but Deepwind Gorge needs a bit of an overhaul.

Five nodes is excessive for 8 people on such a large map.

All those pathways can still exist with my idea.

I suggest we turn Deepwind Gorge into another version of EOTS. Have two outer bases capturable and two uncapturable. The market in the middle should be place where the flag spawns. When you bring the flag to one of the bases you hold, those bases switch off and the other two switch on. It would be a lot more fun than the garbage we have now. But make the flag capture more important then holding the base so players have to actually fight for the flag.

If that is too much for Blizzard, just shrink the map a bit and keep the current set of rules the same as they are.

It’s interesting… I think DPS balance is more whack than healer balance.

Like if there is a good mm hunter on the other team me or anyone on my team can die in a dr stun from him solo. It’s crazy. A good assassin rogue can also make sure you die. Affliction warlocks also suck because if you try and dispel one fear with UA up you just die.

Outside of those 3 classes though it’s pretty rare that a DPS scares me as a healer. I think healers could get a small nerf IF and a big IF… mm, affy and rogue also got nerfs (maybe some other DPS I’m forgetting)

But yeah any DPS claiming healers are too strong are for the most part bad… Actually landing a kick on a healer into a stun is often enough to kill one. Most can’t land a kick and just feed precogs lol

Didn’t you read what OP said though? Healers can just dodge and avoid CC. Just channel your inner Keanu and the CC just flies by!

If you need to hard cast without some way to protect yourself, you already messed up. If you fail to juke your hard cast, you messed up twice. Getting kicked is a skill issue.

And yet even the best players in the game get kicked, juked and CCed. But according to you none of that should happen, ever

By the other best players who actually know how to time a kick. You place a top level healer into a solo healer BG blitz, they will never be kicked and never lose a DPS to a cc chain. Its simply a skill issue for healers who get caught out.

For a dunce hat, how about one that says “Still smarter than Ohhbobsaget.”

Ya man let me just avoid an Assa rogue dancing on me while getting dragonrage disintegrated with a psyfiend on me and 2 rows of dots.

There’s enough crowd control in the game for multiple healers to be easily crossed.

Just on my destro I can seduce one healer and then shadowfury fear the other and then swap a refear to the other healer then double coil them Both.

Now imagine I have 5 other dps helping me cc haha.

1 healer for 7 dps is honestly just a terrible take you must not have thought that one through.

Here’s a solution:

Switch to a healing class. Make it your main.

The experience will give you a better perspective.

Yea. If you get caught out like that and the dps cordinate, it means there will be more than 10 total honorable kills across both factions in a BG blitz. Sounds like an ideal fix to me.

Yeah man just don’t get ccd 4head.

There’s not much coordination needed all they need to do is check DRs on their BGE addon and then send the cc off cooldown.

As opposed to now where even if you do coordinate, no one will die because the second healer is saving them.

Agree on strong healers. Without target calling and coordinated CCs it is going to be frustrating. Need some in-combat dampening or something.

Also, CTF maps should only pop if there is a dedicated tank, or at least somebody who marked themselves as tank role willingly. It’s no fun when no one is willing to FC.

Are you sure they’re not duo queuing and coordinating? It’s hard to imagine good unbroken, non-DRed or overlapped CC chain in blitz, unless there is a good druid that chain cyclones maybe. Even so, on slightly lower ratings healers are way overpowered, and a lot of people will be discouraged before they reach the “balanced” rating.

This is my biggest gripe about current healing balance as well. Average team fight with healers feels hopeless from the point of view of a single dps. Admittedly, it is probably not the perspective you would want to balance the game around, but at the same time the game should feel reasonably winnable through personal contribution in a mode where all players in theory are random players that see each other for the first time. So, if they hope Blitz to be popular as they want it to be, they should probably think of a way to balance the game to encourage an average player.

Well i just played a 1900 game as a resto druid and realized healing is even MORE broken than I could imagine. All you need to do is do the same strat a tank would do by spam capping and people will have to start attacking you. Except as a resto druid you will never die because you are the worst possible target to train. Even better is you get cyclone so you can snipe bases as well. I don’t even have proper resto gear either.

I’d show you my druid, but I actually played dps games on it as well, so my winrate in BGs will be deflated.

It’s common, and it’s usually multiple DPS doing it so they aren’t duo queuing.

DPS who let healers easily heal through 4 them are the same ones doing 30k DPS and thinking that’s ok. The same ones who don’t kick, cc or pressure at right times. The ones who complain about how strong healers are are the ones who think they deserve the kill in the healer just because they’re hitting it
