Those who love classic/tbc/wrath (like me), I seriously don't see how cata is enjoyable at all

I don’t miss the days where every hybrid was forced to heal, there was 1-3 dps specs you could bring, and only one tank. Bosses had 1 mechanic and raid fights were largely stand in place and hit the boss.

I don’t understand how that game play is so addicting that people have been playing it on repeat for 20 years.

After the reception of BFD in SoD, I’m convinced they don’t actually enjoy Vanilla, but their ego and inability to get good at gameplay and encounters that require some semblance of thought won’t allow them to accept anything beyond it

facts, they just wanna stack warriors and get world buffs #classic #nochanges rofl
sod (and any potential future sod type) > era

Very few people actually have or want to. Era servers turned into wastelands when TBC Classic launched.

While being hardstuck 2k. You’re gonna have so much fun!

Most of the people I’ve seen complaining about how much they hate cata and whatever they claim retail is now are extremely bad players that peaked in BWL and talk about it like it was their high school glory days and how they totally could have made state if it wasn’t for their knee.

and other than Turtle wow which offers a lot of homebrew content vanilla pservers hard dropped off after classic. They’re all going wrath-cata-mop nowadays

That gets the classic simps all angry when I point that out

post on your main or are you scared to get laughed at? arena master 2500 rating on multiple toons lolz while ur stuck on era alliance side

because they are bad at arena so they have to spam era warsong
imagine yesmaster the “amazing fc druid” didnt even hit 2k in arena in any expansion lol the ppl who only play wsg in era are bad at arena thats why they get stuck there

you would think they would be excited for RBGs…right? lmao nope

So you call a game bad because there are problems with the last 5% (if even that much) of the game that make it boring to you? I agree RAIDing is boring as sh!t once you’ve beaten the final boss ONCE. But the leveling experience in Vanilla was, and still is, awesome.

Look, another post crying… Jesus Christ, give it up already, nobody cares

How old are you???

You sound like my 13-year-old daughter, using a term that my 19-year-old daughter laughs at her for using.

Yes, they did, but people have been returning ever since. They are not waste any more.

Playing a bit of Cata to level characters for the MOP waiting room, Cata is not a bad experience at all. Mechanically, I like it more than WOTLK and Vanilla, and the levelling of both characters and professions is really smooth compared to any previous versions. Yeah yeah the journey and all that, but the zones tell a story and you generally feel like there’s a reason for you being there so it’s fine.

The problem is the theme of Cata, it’s got a lot of WOWcraft elements. You have like rock people, elemental stuff, yet more talking dragons, a cult from silithus that should be dead, old gods etc. It feels like a fantasy setting your DM is phoning in as he’s saving his good stuff for later campaigns. It doesn’t seem like Warcraft like TBC and WOTLK did, and harkens a lot back to the raids of Vanilla which I could never get into.

If people only care about mechanics, and don’t mind some of those elements, Cata is good and kind of fun to level a new character in as the zones have changed quite a bit since we last saw them.

Leveling is so boring in era that the majority of people forked over hundreds of gold to Venezuela to do it for them

TBC is superior to cata pvp. TBC is the gold standard of WoW pvp, the only version of WoW that preserved class identity and didn’t rely on homogenization while keeping a semblance of balance for a functional competitive pvp system. Hell even though vanilla balance is bad from a small scale competitive view, it’s a lot of fun to play around with the broken trinkets, engi stuff, and all the quirks it has. Wrath and cata is when they started hammering hard on homogenization and making encounters feel samey. Not nearly as awful as MoP though where it went beyond buffs and they started giving classes all the same abilities with different colors.

You know perfectly well nobody wants a fully progressed, static state realm where everyone already has all the best gear. Era is a bad idea for any iteration of WoW and any other mmo, other than a dumping ground to preserve characters from a fresh reset.

Cataclysm is the dividing line of the player base. You either love the way the game was in “Vanilla” and TBC and prefer that WoW, or you think Cataclysm was the first time they got most things right.

Cataclysm is probably a better “game”. Vanilla and TBC are far better MMOs, and that was even more true the first time around when for the most part people just played the game and were pretty clueless about anything meta.

I’m not 85 yet so should be fixed by the time I am lmao

Hows your dumpster fire going?

WoTLK was a burn out for me, too many weeks of naxx

If you’re not 85 by now then by the time you are everyone will shift back to the ‘dumpster fire’ for P4
