Like, what exactly does that tell me about the Forsaken?? They are zombies reanimated just to protect other people? Who hate and fear them?
They are reanimated to be the X-Men? Undead X-men is what Blizz thinks the forsaken are now?
What next, goblins are a race of people who have lost their home and STRIVE TO FIX THE LIVES OF ALL THE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, RACIAL IDENTITY IS IRRELEVANT IF YOU’RE A GOOD GUY NOW!
The real problem is, there was always a balance between the two–the Forsaken were “evil” because they had such a misunderstood backstory. They were literally doing whatever they could to survive. And of course, their whole purpose in life (undeath?), up til the end of Wrath of the Lich King, was to get revenge on Arthas.
Now it feels like Blizzard’s just become overly-obsessed with redeeming, well…everyone.
I still think they’re going to push Talia into Anduin, then say Talia is Caelia’s daughter. Then Anduin gets Lordaeron and his position as Anduin High King of Azeroth is solitified.
Horde NPCs will love him because he carried Saurfang. Forsaken will love him because their princess loves him. Then Undead can be protectors of the living, Orcs can be defenders of Azeroth. Everyone can protect everyone under High King Anduin as he reads us all bedtime stories and peace is finally achieved.
(This is extreme sarcasm, please no one get upset).
I think they just took it to the extreme. I mean… there are a wide array of players who play on the Horde same with the Alliance. But traditionally, Horde have been known for their PVP players and more aggressive types.
Like in Vanilla, pvp players were more than often horde prior the meta of racials, because of the races. They were these rugged races who fought to survive.
So I think Blizzard thought “Well, these guys like killin’ so lets dial that up to 11!” And then the players were like “No, not like this.”
Yes, but again: they pretty much followed the exact same formula as Mists of Pandria in Battle for Azeroth, right down to a Horde leader being responsible for a massive, WMD-level assault and the emergence of a newly-awakened Old God.
There’s a word for doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Go back and watch the “Lore Q&A” (that wasn’t a Q&A, more of cinematic artists pattin’ themselves on the back) where they straight up say they didn’t think the endin’ of MOP sent the message they wanted… so they literally did the story again.
Because they admited themselves that they have some fan of the Old Horde in their ranks.
It’s easy to guess that they assumed that all the true fans of the Horde wanted to go back to the Warcraft II Horde, forgetting a litlle thing: There is a Warcraft III Horde and many people prefer to be the “noble savages” rather than “the genocidal maniac”
It was a constant facepalm in this one i have to say and i truly wished to see these idiots fired in order to at least have competent writers.
