I think some people are confused about the trigger mechanic. It’s not below 50% energy, it’s below 50 energy. Huge difference. So it should only be popping when you’re making a hard go
Not really. You’ll still be consuming all three stacks quite fast if there’s no internal CD.
that maybe, but the 50% is different than 50 energy.
Of all the problems Rogues are facing right now, Thistle Tea wasn’t one of them.
Which why you know no real fixes are coming.
Good point…although for Outlaw/Subtlety with smaller energy pools than Assa that means 25% energy threshold. So, just using a high energy budget skill at below 50% (e.g 45 energy skills) bring you down to below 25% and TT triggers even if you decide that you are in a situation where you don’t want to blow a charge.
As said, the decision to use TT should be up to us and not the game.
Yeah, it should have a CD to mirror the buff.
And you can avoid auto-proccing too, since you can choose to activate that last skill or wait for enough energy to not fall below threshold. Vigor is a prerequisite.
I can’t wait for the change to be buggy causing it to consume all stacks at once, or maybe it’ll be like Recoup and consume 1 stack per fight, but never proc again.
All I know is that the cut to the chase buff is big.
Do you even need thistle tea?
There are other talents that keep your energy so high you almost never run out.
My current spec I almost never run out of energy, but it sucks at PVP so Im thinking of changing.
Depends on what build you have.
For example; Outlaw has two major builders it can build towards; Ambush or Sinister Strike. Ambush (at 50 energy) is superior to Sinister Strike because it gives you a native 2 combo points per builder (not including the talent that gives you an extra combo point base).
Sinister Strike (at 45 energy) has a native 1 combo point with a 35% chance at giving you a second.
If you have a build that only has Sinister Strike as a reliable combo builder, the likely hood of hitting a ‘flat tire’–consecutively spamming Sinister Strike for only one combo point–is not out of the realm of possibility.
Thistle Tea comes in real handy when that happens.
This change makes 0 sense.
The bUtToN bLoAt criers are ruining eveything. They got Shadow Dance removed from the class tree for something significantly worse. They want to keep Thistle Tea yet dont want to press the button. The whole crowd is full of short sighted players unable to grasp what these abilities actually contribute to the class and how certain changes just have overwhelmingly negative effects.
Slice and Dice change is good, but the tea change is bad.
Making something automatic and removing player agency DOES NOT FEEL GOOD.
There’s so many other things we’d actually rather have, like bug fixes for stealth, fixes for broken talents, or even just poisons not expiring every time we zone. No one asked for this.
Huge fan of this change. I’m tired of how many things were added that we have to micromanage since the Dragonflight talents were implemented. Being able to unbind Thistle Tea and treat it like a passive now is welcome.
Room temp IQ take. Man saw all the comments depicting exactly why having TT specifically made passive is bad and still came here to say this. You could just not take the talent. The entire point of it (as sad as it may be) is to intentionally replenish your energy. Making it passive completely defeats the purpose of its existence. This is why not everyone should give feedback.
Thank you for proving my earlier statement though.
At this point, it’s just bad design. Why can I say that? It’s a classic trick company’s often do to look like they are doing something. It’s corporate busy-work.
Step 1: Create problem (nerf energy economy).
Step 2: Create Solution (Thistle Tea active ability returning).
= Players happy solution is fixed (quickly forgetting the problem was created by blizzard to begin with).
New xpac and no solutions yet for decades old bugs? Break energy again!
Step 1: Nerf energy!
Step 2: Thistle tea is now passive! See?! We fixed it!
This kind of thing is absolutely infuriating. This has big vibes of the last few Diablo seasons where they seemed to put tons of effort in squashing the pace of progression over fixing anything that was actually harming player’s experience…
Even though my spec is probably trash, I love always having energy. =D
Wth is thistle tea?
gives you 100 energy
