What’s the point in playing a tank spec which blizzard has always had issues with and can’t balance stagger properly, and has more buttons and little niche mechanics than any other tank spec- but is the weakest of the lot
My blood dk and warrior can do more damage and take more damage with 50% of the effort.
Worst tank spec in the game and constantly overlooked. The only buffs we get is by proxy of the base abilities getting buffed. Scuffed
Hrmm - there are some problems with this statement …
According to the website :
h ttps://u.gg/wow/tier-list/tank-rankings
Brewmaster monk (ShadoPan) is currently 2nd highest in DPS just behind Protection Paladin … so what your experiencing is just probably just an issue with your own gameplay - (perhaps blood dk easier to play or something similar)
And then the ‘take more damage’ - I mean - your ‘taking’ the same amount of damage in a dungeon no ? Like you can look into details so what damage was ‘mitigated’ by dodge/parry/absorb things of that nature right ?
Now of course if you meant ‘taking more damage’ as in the ability to bounce back to full health after a few deathstrikes then you are absolutely 100% correct … DK’s self healing is bar none best in game … but they have to be though …
Interestingly enough according to raider. io you are two chesting 11’s and have timed over 70+ keys as brewmaster sprinkled in with some windwalker … so my question to you is : –
If it’s such a bad class/spec - why do you play it so much ?
Let’s be honest here - Brew IMO just need two minute tweaks to make it banging
increase the amount of self healing orbs that spawn that they nerfed at the beginning of the patch
redo the Black Ox statue to auto AOE taunt when dropped
You had ok base but your argument isn’t solid. I personally play any of the monk specs, including BRM when the season started, because I like monks and I don’t want to reroll to meta. I would rather play another game.
Just because we keep playing it doesn’t mean it’s good. I also play, played and watched other tanks play and can say that BRM feels the worst. Some of the healers I played regularly with also said something along these lines. I stopped after getting my portals because I was honestly not having fun anymore.
The community feels the same. I was waiting 20+ minutes to get into groups for 10s when the highest timed keys were 12s. I wouldn’t invite a brewmaster to my key either if I was trying to push.
I mean - lets step back and take a broader look - if you’ve timed all your 10’s and some 11’s your score will be 2600-2700 ish …
that puts you in the top 5% - 6% of the M+ playerbase as of right now (this is what only the what middle of the season ??) … and with that …
[insert some chatgtp wisdom here]
If you’re in the top 5-6% of Mythic+ players and still not satisfied with your performance, it could indicate a few things psychologically:
High Standards and Perfectionism: You might set very high standards for yourself, striving for perfection even when you’re already excelling. This can be a great motivator, but it can also lead to never feeling satisfied, as the bar always seems to get higher.
External Validation vs. Internal Fulfillment: If your sense of accomplishment is tied more to comparisons with others rather than personal enjoyment or progress, you might feel like you’re never truly achieving enough, regardless of your ranking.
Growth Mindset vs. Contentment: People who are constantly pushing for self-improvement often feel restless at success points because they’re focused on what’s next. While a growth mindset can be positive, it’s also helpful to balance it with a sense of contentment and acknowledgment of what you’ve achieved.
In short, it suggests you might benefit from celebrating your accomplishments (your doing better than 95% of the M+ players right now) more and appreciating how far you’ve come, while still setting goals.
Personally me I played Brew cuz I think its the ‘funnest’ to play right now - but thats just me
I’m ok with playing a class or spec that isn’t even average, but not if the design around it itself is not fun to play as. BRM season 4 was fun to play. TWW BRM is not.
It sounds like you’re making concessions for what has been the worst performing tank for awhile, only to see the tanks near it in the bottom get buffs so large they become S Tier tanks, first pally now DK.
I love playing brew. It is a bad class. Both can be true.
When someone says, “I’m making concessions,” they mean they’re compromising or giving up certain preferences, demands, or conditions to reach an agreement or to make a situation work. Concessions usually involve letting go of something they wanted or adjusting their expectations to accommodate others.
For example, in a discussion or negotiation, one person might make concessions to keep things fair or to help move things forward, even if it means not getting everything exactly as they wanted. It’s essentially a way of finding middle ground by yielding on some points.
I am simply asking a question - if its so bad why do you (the poster - this really is a question for him/her - don’t know why everyone is trying to answer for them)
This whole banter was aimed at the poster of this thread - not really anyone else - but this is the internet so … the internet will internet
Never said I don’t do damage. I do 1.3mill in 11’s. What you’re experiencing is your own gameplay. No.
This spec is awful stop defending it
Because ceebs gearing another toon when the next patch is 3 months away, the crest system is cheeks. Endgame is just drip fed myth track loot
In suffering through this mess off a spec. I’m brilliant at this class but I can just do more with less effort with pally or warrior. Dk probably not they’re a bit mid
Brew (in M+) feels so weak compared to War/Paly/Druid. I assume it’s the same for Blood/DH, but I haven’t played them so I couldn’t say. What I find most infuriating is that this patch came by a couple of weeks ago and we didn’t get a single change. I look forward to the next patch and what do I see…?
I see a new ring coming out and wonder if it’s going to be a repeat of the last one. This stupid ring propping up the class/spec until Blizz decides that we shouldn’t be running it if it’s 40ilvls lower. So they nerf the ring and back into the bin we go. Don’t worry, there’ll be an aura buff next week. Yes, the other tanks will get one too, in fact, they’ll get more despite being better in almost all content. Whenever we get buffed it seems like a side effect of general tank buffs.
I’m not pushing 11’s or 12’s or anything particularly high. Brew is still completely viable for what I’m doing. And I find it so fun, how could I play any other tank? The other day my healer forgot he had to dispel the buff from the first boss in Stonevault, and I didn’t even realize until he mentioned it after the dungeon. How many other tanks can do that? Silly things like that are why I love this spec. But I feel like I’m griefing my group when I switch to Brew instead of the Paly. It takes a lot of the fun out of it.
So I look to the future and pray for buffs of some kind. But then I’m reminded of what happened in Dragonflight…
Brew and WW were two of the worst performing specs for most of Dragonflight (at least MW got one tier to be meta) and Blizz never did anything substantial to remedy that. More and more it feels like Blizz is actively avoiding balancing Monk. The crazy part is Brew tends to be the best of the monk specs on average, now if that ain’t something sad I don’t know what is. What I would give for a single blue post that said “We’re aware Brew is struggling and considering our options.”
But that post won’t come.
And that’s what worries me. How can I have any optimism? Is all we have to look forward to the hope that we’ll be “meh” instead of “bleh”?
