Went to pick up Legion Tailoring, got the quest “This Should Be Simple… Right?”, and it claims I have learned the temporary pattern that is part of this quest, but cannot locate that pattern in the tailoring UI, even when I search for it by name. I tried logging out and back in, and it posts a chat message 8 times in a row on login that I’ve learned that pattern multiple times, up to 8 times. It doesn’t appear to populate in the UI and therefore this quest cannot be advanced. You are still able to interact with all the other objects that are part of the quest, clicking on Tanithra’s Finishing Table just takes you to your tailoring UI. The pattern doesn’t show up in unlearned patterns, and I only have Shadowlands, Legion, and Azeroth tailoring learned.
Unsure if this happens with other temporary crafting patterns yet, but this one is definitely not working correctly.
Thanks!

Same thing, it won’t show me the pattern to complete the quest!

Can confirm on Tailoring. One can only assume the same thing is happening to Leatherworkers and Blacksmiths. And since the same idea applies, I wonder about crafting world quests as well. It’s the new crafting UI not recognizing temporary patterns.

Bumping topic for visibility. Confirmed still an issue several hours later, running out and back in re-learns the recipe but does not show in the UI.
I’m having the same issue.
This isn’t something I see on the list of known issues, but we need to work to get it there. This locks crafters out of nearly ALL Legion recipes, and recipe collection is a major part of the game to some people.

Can confirm its happening with Blacksmithing too
bumping. same issue today
Same issue. Walk into the building, it says I have learned the recipe. Open the table, it’s not there. Log out, log back in, says I’ve learned the recipe. Cool. Click table, nowhere to be found. Came back later and tried again, same result. Went to bed, came back in the morning, same result. Very aggravating.

Can confirm it doesn’t seem to be happening to world quest based ones in Shadowlands, had a Tailoring quest to make a Woven Gossamer Tunic in Bastion and it showed up just fine, but continues to have the same issue in Legion. It may just be this specific quest not working.

Nope. Does the same thing for Leatherworking, and saw others complaining about the Legion Engineering quests not functioning
in chat, type /run PickupSpell(). this will tie it tthe spell to your cursor, then you can place into an empty action bar slot. it’s just a workaround for now until devs can fix and blues give us the thumbs up. should work fo rany quest-based temp spell (blacksmithing, etc.) courtesy of mightypulpo’s comment on the WH silkweave hood item page.

I can confirm that this works and I have completed quest.
Eg for Blacksmiths stuck on “Leysmithing Mastery”
Run each of the below add it to your action bar:
/run PickupSpell(183279) - Leystone Bar
/run PickupSpell(183280) - Heated Leystone Bar
/run PickupSpell(183281) - Leystone Cuffplate
/run PickupSpell(183283) - Leystone Fingerguard
/run PickupSpell(183562) - Handcrafted Leystone Gauntlets
*Dont include anthing past the brackets
To get the spell ID’s for what you need for your crafts:
Head to wowhead.com and search for your desired profession recipe/pattern. Once you’re on the page, the recipe ID will be on the URL, in this case, leystone bar has the following URL

Great workarounds, still need to bump this to make sure it makes it on known issues so it can be fixed.
Confirm. In Dalaran tailor shop, in the Broken Isles… No pattern exists.
Bug still exists. I use that /run trick for all the items, they’re all in my bags (including the silk cloth), but nothing works. I too see the three recipes announced on my screen as I enter the sewing shop, but no recipes on my Tailoring page
A related video shows a “Training” section open up at the top of the Tailoring recipe page, but not for me.

Sunsmasher, what it does when you use the command is it’ll attach a toolbar thing to your cursor. Just click in an emtpy spot on your toolbar and it’ll have the recipe there.
As of right now you can’t get recipes from trainers either so you can only buy some classic recipes at the moment
