Ooh yeah big time for the LFR part, I can’t for the life of me understand why they didn’t keep PL in LFR when the very existence of PL was triggered by LFR…

I remember when open world players were satisfied being… 52 ilvls below raiders? Or was it 39?

If you want to just get gear, just get the gear. You don’t have to upgrade the gear if you are an open-world player and just want to be a common adventurer.

This. Literally what’s the point of a currency tab if we don’t use it? My bags are full of just useful but copious clutter these days.

No it isn’t. You can fail your way through an appropriate level M+ key and as long as you manage to kill the last boss you get super-inflated ilvl loot from the GV. Failure = inflated rewards.

Your only option in the raid is to kill the boss - and even if you do it perfectly you will never be rewarded with inflated ilvl loot from the GV. You are limited to the ilvl of the content you are doing.

Failing to time a key shouldn’t give you ANY GV slot - let alone bonus ilvl.

This is my main issue with all of this. I thought we were cutting down bag space use? Instead, my bags are filled with a lot of stuff that could have easily been shunted off to other places. It’s really annoying.

That’s clearly your fantasy wish. It’s also clearly designed on clearing, not on timing. /shrug

The system was designed solely to keep geared players out of +2’s.

Maybe use your brain and figure out how to add a crest to your crafted gear.

But valor could have been expanded like that. Once upon a time doing daily quests gave you valor points.

The problem with flightstones and crests is that they do something we already had a system for. That existing system should have just been expanded.

Whenever someone says something is “overly convoluted” its an immediete tell that they spent maybe 1 min looking at the system and gave up.

It really isn’t and is a big improvement over valor.

In their Blue Posts, Blizzard explained they didn’t want to “just expand the valor system” because they didn’t want to encourage the playstyle of running low level keys over and over and over to get the one piece of gear you want, then spending a mountain of valor on it to get it to Mythic Raid quality.

If they did as you said, and expanded Valor, we’d have that exact issue.
Imagining needing to run Raid Finder every single week to get the drop you want just to upgrade it all the way.
That would be AWFUL.

Blizzard gave a very good reason WHY the didn’t just expand the valor system.

Crests take up bag space because they’re also used as a Enchanting mats to craft Optional Reagents that upgrade Crafted gear.
