I feel like you can’t treat Wrathion as an “earth dragon” when he was raised far and away from his brethren.
Like, he was an egg stolen from corrupted Black Dragons, it was purified, then kept hidden by the Red Dragonflight (RIP Rhea), and later Rogues were taking care of it until he hatched.
Wrathion is probably more “human” than other dragons, in terms of experience.
Similar to how Ebonhorn lived his Highmountain Tauren double life.
Or like how Thrall was raised by humans.

The guy kicked off an inter-dimensional war that directly lead to the Legion’s invasion and got off with a slap on the wrist.

The writers just wanted to bring up Wrathion’s feet.
You’re lucky they didn’t make a cutscene with squishy squelching muddy toes.
Wrathion’s got Style. Yes the boots are an illusion. But, mud has gotten onto the illusion of boots. The dude wants to look fresh and clean, but now he has mucky feet throwing off his whole motif.

Wrathion just wanted something to complain about.
I absolutely loved it when Anduin punched Wrathion in the face. IMO he deserved way more than that.
This did not disprove it isn’t an illusion. Any form that isn’t their dragon form is an illusion because it isn’t their true form lol.
Also “one of the great pleasures of humanoid forms is that soft skin is more sensitive to receiving a loving touch than scales.” is disgusting to read. I want very unsavory things to happen to whoever put this into the lore. This is disrespectful to dragonkind. I can attest that dragon scales are superior to humanoid skin.
Visage forms in general are gross. Imagine bringing yourself down to the level of MORTALS (inferior beings) of all things. Disgusting. I wish dragons would just shrink themselves down to fit into smaller places instead of turning into ugly apes.
I wish Wrathion killed him on the spot for daring to harm a dragon.

It did. Go read the entire thing. They shapeshift. It isn’t an illusion whatsoever. You don’t feel the softness of skin through an illusion, either.

Nah, that’s 100% in character. Wrathion is exactly the type to whine about mud on his boots even though he isn’t wearing real boots just to give him an excuse to whine and draw attention to himself. He knows he’s full of crap. Everyone around him knows he’s full of crap. But he’s certain he can convince them he is not full of crap. That’s Wrathion 100%.

idk man, i didnt see him do this crap in BfA, i think the writers just hate him and flanderized him hard in DF, his writing is genuinely so garbage for all of DF.
it seems really dumb to complain about mucky boots when you have more important things to do, like abberus stuff and fyrakk stuff, and also youre literally underground

Visage form is actual shapeshifting, not an illusion.
Otherwise they wouldn’t fit inside buildings.
