Nope I’m fine with blizzard addressing the issues LFD addresses in a different way, or modifying LFD in ways that let it resolve those issues and fix the complaints people have(in a couple ways I already said).

I just acknowledge that LFD addresses real in game problems.

Its a convenience not a game fix that addresses specific issues. The issues are player fabricated and player born.

so without lfd …
-they will be forced to play with you.
-they won’t be able to ignore you if you’re not bis or not certain class
-they won’t be able to get what they wants if their guilds are still sleeping, While they don’t want to have the same fair chance of being in dungeon finder system as everyone else.

I think MGT being new and having more people wanting to do it, RDF helps the people trying to do RFC and low level dungeons, heck even AC can be annoying. the current level of interest in MGT makes it a bad example for LFG dungeon scarcity. I usually have issues finding full groups in LFG chat as a tank, i did like 8 Normal MGT runs yesterday no issue at all.
Id still like RDF but for specifically older leveling content more so then current.

Yes as a tank and particularly a pally tank of course you have no issue… let us know how that goes as ret :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s going to be like that every day if Wrath launches as is. The heroic daily badge instance is a major part of lich king progression.

there are plenty of other pally tanks with issues finding groups, I swap regularly between ret and prot as the need arises and yeah, i have a bit harder time finding groups as ret but it just means I don’t do a dungeon that day, which is why i still would like RDF at some point. your pointed comment holds very little water as you are a druid and can also tank and heal.

To the badge comment as I don’t wanna double post, Dumbcake, those badges were obtainable prior to RDF being implemented, they’ll still be there and accessible without RDF.

I’m 100% aware of that. It was a rotating daily quest in a specific dungeon. Before LFD you found your own group, after LFD you got your badges after the 1st random of the day.

When players hit 80, and want to start getting better gear. It’s going to be a non-stop wall of text in the dungeon zone and dalaran. It’s going to be a huge pain to find a group and people will get left behind, losing progress.

Actually that was precisely my point… and you confirmed it. Yeah no duh as a tank I can find a group easily for MGT, however as you just said as a DPS you might not run at all that day.

Not to mention tanking MGT is miserable as a druid.

Which is one of the reasons i still want RDF in the expansion at some point, lower pop servers will suffer in the late stages just as having an overactive LFG chat will cause issues on higher pop servers. As of current blizzard has randomly and stupidly decided that this fits what they want classic LK to be and we who plan to keep playing will have to keep dealing with it.
Currently the most common dungeons I see advertising in chat are those for the heroic daily quests, I don’t think those will go down in volume when LK comes out. granted the spam will still exist but the spam will(should) be weighted more towards that heroic daily.

I guess it depends on your server then, I did a few runs as DPS just by sending a “ret dps” whisper and got an invite pretty fast in response YMMV.

Currently being a tank/healer helps to skip a lot of headaches in group forming, while being a DPS does have draw backs. This is why I still support adding RDF into LK.

If you add badges under LFD rules, Tanks will get to go more than once per day since it’s the daily that would count, not the instance. That way 2x to 3x the amount of people get their badges. That was one of the (overlooked) reasons they added the Q in the first place.

I don’t see what the issue is, I do have a bit harder time finding groups as ret as opposed to prot. I didn’t say I cannot find groups as ret.

If tanks can only get the daily reward once per day how would that make them run more dungeons with RDF? If your assumption is that tanks will run once and done then why would that change if RDF is only giving those badges on a once daily basis? If they intend to farm badges from doing the heroics multiple times wouldn’t that be the same under the current system as it would be with RDF?

I mean you just said running as dps mean you might not run a dungeon at all that day.

And you have the option to not dps, think about people who don’t.

correct, I MIGHT not run a dungeon that day, which is why i still support adding RDF.

I’m aware of DPS issues with groups and that pure DPS classes have a harder of a time, which is why I still support adding RDF.

No. I’m fairly certain it didn’t work like that and I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong. You got no currency for normals, you then had your heroic badges, and your raid badges. I think they were for ilevel 200 and 213 gear.
You got a heroic badge per 5-man heroic boss.
The daily heroic quest awarded you two raid badges.
Raid bosses were one (?) per kill.
That was the old system. When you did the heroic you got locked out.

When they added LFD, it was the first random of the day that got your badge, and you could hit the same one twice in a day if you Queued enough. You only got the lower badges the second instance, but they were good for heirlooms and some other good stuff, and if your faction had WG you got stonekeeper shards for free honor.

The tank shortage was solved because tanks had incentives to run more than once. Same for healers.
