Why should people be forced to play something they don’t want to play for the Promise of a reward they’ve already achieved the requirement to obtain?
Besides no one cares about a r1 competitions for their spot. That’s the least of the ladders concern.
People lost their minds over 2100 gear increase. Imagine knocking everything up higher again lol.
I know 5 people who just stopped playing cause the games bad not because glad is easier lol
That person you’re arguing with doesn’t seem to understand that #rewards scaling with #players is a desirable thing.
In any case, there can be problems with percentage based reward structures if the skill distribution has gaps in it. The essential problem is the following: % based rewards depend only on rankings rather than CR. If the distribution of CR looks like
3002, 3000, 3000, 2700,2659,… and there are 4 total spots rewarded, then the % based reward system has failed to identify the cluster of the most skilled players (the top 3).
Similarly if the ratings are
3002, 3001, 3000, 2700, 2659, … and only 2 spots are rewarded, then someone isn’t adequately rewarded for their performance.
Whether such distributions are actually realistic given WoW’s MMR system is a harder question that I don’t know the answer to, because some theoretical guarantees for ELO based systems break down for intransitive games (if team A beats team B and team B beats team C, it does not imply that team A will beat team C in WoW).
I’m not a game theorist, so if you want to learn more check section 2 of this article by DeepMind.
The solution to the issue seems obvious though: make gladiator % based AND add in rewards for hitting 2700 and 3k.

Or they could make the game just more fun lol.

Cause people hold their game status to a level a sacredness.
That’s tarnished because the value is based on exclusivity.

Red/black is genuinely the only colour combo that interests me as a rogue main. So upset that they did that.
not as upset as I am at myself for not playing legion s3/4/5 or w/e but. Pretty upset.

Yeah, it’s very strange to me. Gatekeeping pixels, especially to this extent, has always been a foreign concept to me.
It’s a cycle wherein everyone loses:
Gatekeep from casuals/bad players → Casuals/bads have less reasons to play, they quit → Gatekeepers have less people to show off to
I suppose I don’t derive that much value from exclusive pixels, but that’s just me.
You’re thinking too deep. It’s lame when goals that you made and worked for are later devalued. Unless of course you’re younger and participation and trophies are expected.
Ignoring actual financial stuff for this. Imagine you save up 10,000 to buy some cool whatever that you’ve always wanted and picked up a second job to do this. Then a year later the price drops to $400.
Legion Vs bfa/slands.
The endgame arena reward being So easily given out with season length of and Inflation is really a generational difference with viewpoints.

If there was more then the base model then it wouldn’t be a problem.
Gladiator should be the base foundation for getting mount/title
2400 50 wins- Gladiator Title/Mount
2700- X wins Elite Gladiator title
R1 cutoff eligible - Victorious Gladiator, removed from character and your only Elite Gladiator if you fall out of ranking.
Top 3 players on ladder -Immortal or Undying Gladiator, also removed and downgraded to Victorious when you fall out of top 3.
This gives the best players that bit of extra prestige for being the best and remaining the best during season
At first glance you know whose 2400-2699
Whose r1 or going to be r1
Who is the king of entire ladder
Problem solved
It being devalued is your own opinion if it.
Here’s an example.
If I say a pile of crap in the backyard is worth more than your favorite pair of shoes is that true and what if everyone agrees with me… is that pile of crap worth more than something you value?
I’m 27 y/o and have grinded harder than most. I just don’t need others approval or opinions to give value to my goals, I know their value to me. Which at the end of the day is all that matters lol.
That’s what everyone does, they just get upset when they get called out for caring about their wow characters. Which I get that’s kinda funny cause it’s a computer game, but at the end of the day if you really care about something it doesn’t matter what others think.
Someone who got glad in % base system shouldn’t feel devalued. Their reward is tied to that time and has its own prestige to them on how they feel about it.
A person who got glad in bfa/SL can have that same feeling. We diminish our own achievements based on our opinion of what others think which is wrong, and a stupid practice

Well you’re wrong because its not about how anyone feels s2 sl glad Is objectively worthless If it’s equal to barely duelist

Objectively you missed my point.
However it doesn’t matter because my point is that everyone’s value is based on their own opinion, and most covet the opinions of those around them more than the actually achievement. They care more so about the way they look.
Which changing % or w/e won’t solve that issue because nxt thing it’ll be is oh you got glad playing x comp, or at this time during the season, or with these players.

2.7 players get rank. 1 cuz there class is op that is just depressing! Not saying you’re bad mud but. In my opinion not a rank 1
Yeah you’re typing A lot but not thinking about how the actual value decreased
There’s like 5-10x more gladiator mounts going out right now with the new system.
What the
You actually covet and put value in t3 mog lmao.
You bought it with gold bro. That should be a good example.
You actually enjoy something rare to have through gold, and you don’t care that it’s not the original prestige of doing Original naxx.
That value on t3 continues to diminish and even more so as less people play.
My point is the value of glad is based on what you as an individual actually think of it when you achieve it.

Okay and that makes it less exclusive which is what matters the most to people but why is everyone trying to act like glad is that arbitrary goal post.
It should be r1 more than anything lmao. That’s why I find it dumb to even care about glad.
That’s an opinion, bfa drake is a decrepit dog?
I love proto-drakes and I’m sad that I didn’t queue in the earlier seasons.
