This is why almost no one plays PvP

The MMR system is terrible, making you lose 32 points when you end up 2/6 and only gain 7 points when you end up 4/6.

In many matches, there’s always one DPS who loses every round, and as a healer, you automatically end up 3/6, earning no points.

The system is extremely frustrating and stressful, punishing players with point loss (something that doesn’t happen in M+ and doesn’t even exist in raids). There is no logical explanation for this, except to stress players out and fuel hostility within the game.

The balance is horrible. Holy Paladin was super OP last season, now it’s Disc Priest’s turn.

Full PvP-geared players dying in 2 hits. I’ve seen a DK at 70% HP die in one shot.

Do better. This is a paid game. At the very least, we expect decent balance and fun content, not a punishing experience.

In Blitz, I see at least several people on both teams who have ZERO or under 1k CR! 1500-1800 MMR matches btw.

Dude, I’ve been online for over 6 hours trying to get 1800, in countless games I made 3/6 and didn’t win anything, and some I made 2/6 and lost 36 points, and in the ones I made 4/6 I only won 7 points. This is simply unbelievable.

I was 1795, now 1725. Horrible system.

I don’t know how PVP players accept this. It’s just unfair and stressful (of the few that have)

Hasn’t this been an issue in shuffle since DF? I don’t know why they haven’t fixed this already, it seems like a big issue.

What youll come to see is that ppl will say you need to win and 3-3 isnt winning. Ive healed rss and bgb and sometimes the dps are just atrocious.

But Id argue mmr is whatever its the reward system that sucks. Everything in pvp sans the mount you get prog towards over 1k is rating based and time sensitive.

Id play pvp all day if i could prog towards something. I dont want to sweat lord glads at 1800 rated and get nothing. Idgaf about rating i just want rewards. I mean raid rewards never go away and m+ you dont even lose rating for not timing a key (you can even still get rating for failing) so eventually you get to what you want. Pvp isnt like that

Only title and glad mount should be time sensitive imo.

Absolutely this.

Elite sets are just a recolor of the mythic raid sets. Thing is, you can always go back and BTFO mythic raids for the mogs. PvP? Get 1800 during the season or gtfo! God forbid you want a special flag toy or something. I appreciate being able to buy PvP mogs as ensembles once the following expansion comes out for honor tokens, but why limit the elite sets too?

Even weirder, it says you can only buy the elite sets if you EARNED THEM DURING THAT SEASON! Which is ridiculous! If you earned them already, you don’t NEED to buy the ensemble!

Why not just put the elite sets on the vendors for 1-2x the normal price of an ensemble?

If they can bring back past vicious war mounts to buy with a currency, why not bring back elite sets, too?

There’s no real prestige in PvP anymore unless you have a gladiator mount and title, so everything else should be okay to slap on a vendor.

Ive argued that that instead of unlocking a set you get a token that lets you buy any set thats been made. So if youre new you can buy an old set you werent here for. Make it like the mount where its wins over 1500 gives progress to earning it. Removes mmr/rating frustration associated with the reward

Only one per character per season so you cant spam farm. If you want more sets play more characters. Would idk incentivize participation which is the goal because more ppl in the mode means healthier brackets.

Preserves some effort to earn it but gets rid of the whole i have half a set unlocked because i got stuck at 1600

But the sweats argue that in the past ratings were different so why get an old set when 1800 wasnt the rating to get it. /shrug

In WoW PvP you are either really good, or you are just cannon fodder. There is no middle ground.

Ok, can you explain why when I get 4/6 I only gain 7 points? And when I lose 2/6 I lose 36 points? I’ve been playing for 6 hours and I’m stuck in this never ending cycle.

What you want? i need to win 5/6 or 6/6 everytime to get 1800?

And when a DPS comes in and loses all the matches (which has just happened again). How do I carry this DPS playing as a healer?

It just takes a while, is a grind.

I had terrible luck in Season 1 at the start, was doing BG Blitz and had something like a 28% winrate, it was god-awful lol.

Had players like a tank bear druid standing in the midfield in Warsong Gulch, just AoE dps’ing for some reason and not running flags.

Have basically dealt with terrible people repeatedly, but would stomp whenever they weren’t on my team.

Had enough games to realize, I alone was the one making the difference, and that difference was enough to pull ahead and win.

I’ll def hit 1800 on the classes I want to this season.

Point is, it’s a grind. The MMR system will balance itself out, eventually, if you keep getting repeated losses.

I was somewhere around ~49% victory rate last season, varying depending on the battleground we’d get.

Won more often at certain maps.

More than a hundred matches played in total, easily got the mount and another saddle.

Still ended up past 1800+ rating, got my elite set, and moved on.

Shuffle is no different- the more matches you do, the more generous it seems to be. At least, it’ll forgive losses more. Still a climb.

Back in DF, I got two elite sets from Shuffle as well, one on a hunter, one on a resto shaman.

Aye, sink or swim.

I feel bad for noobs that get decked, because that’d just make me lose interest.

Your rating changes depend on the skill levels of the people you’re playing with and against. Losing to lower-rated opponents will result in a bigger rating drop, while winning against them will earn you fewer points.

We dont. Whenever we make a post about our problems some PVE idiot goes “pvp is basically a mini game, if you want to pvp, go play another game.” And then 10 other KSM jerks come in and go “lol exactly”

Its pretty miserable as a healer. You go 3-3 a lot, and get nothing.

This is it.

Its arguably worse in pvp because the other players are actively incentivized to beat you and prevent progress towards rewards as that gets them progress to their rewards (lets set boosting aside)

Imagine if you could invade someone elses key and steal bosses to prevent their ksm climb.

I mean i get it, ppl want the rating epeen, but id rather have ppl in the game modeso rating ladder should be the sideshow to doing the game mode.

Edit: what baffles me is someones job everyday is to figure this out and there is no progress for years. Like what do the pvp devs do all day and how do i get that job.

This game has PvP? Is it even remotely fun with all the crowd control?

If you don’t do anything in this game but pvp, it should be f2p. It already gets the dev attention of a dead f2p on steam.

It already is, if you make a lvl 20 twink and gear it up before your sub lapses, and for whatever reason it remains popular.

I agree though, as someone that mostly PvPs.

It’s not really worth $15 a month, just for the PvP.

If I didn’t also do the world and story content and occasionally PvE, I would’ve let it lapse.

I just got 1800 with my Monk. I’m very happy and relieved that I don’t have to PvP anymore.

Maybe I’ll find some other elite transmog interesting, but for now I’m just focusing on my paladin and my monk.

Solo shuffle for healers–
If someone is strong, you go 3-3
If someone is weak, you go 3-3
If the match is perfectly balanced, you go 3-3
If anyone makes a single mistake in any round, you go 2-4 or 4-2 (decided at random)

Sometimes you may even lose rating with that outcome if the game places you with other people with much lower MMRs. It happens very often as a healer, I suppose in an attempt to make queues better for the dpsers… at the healer’s expense.

At this point I wish we had just a “Rated Skirmish” (solo queue) or something, with just 1 round.

Yeah I find solo shuffle to be heavily RNG orientated for the most part. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
