This is the suckiest WoW anniversary

seems to be a cool side thing. I dont expect it to be game making or breaking.
I got a mount I thought was cool for 5000 TW badges. Nothing else seemed interesting so I went back to playing my regular game.

The whole anniversary is either time gated over tuned or not fun, not to mention the bugs and balancing issues. Then as a cherry on top they’ve added multiple things to the store not just the Dino. Most games anniversary’s are way more generous. I’ve been playing throne and liberty off and on and their Halloween event is more rewarding than the whole patch.

This event is great if players cared more about the game play than the rewards**
Pot meet kettle lol

We need a better eyeroll emoji.

I do so enjoy some good irony, double standards, and hypocrisy

As the event goes on, you’ll be getting more n more tokens each week. This is mentioned in the material about the anniversary

Swear Blizz needs to put a massive sticky on the forums that forces everyone to fully read it n answer specific questions on the article before they post about this lol

Can they post in this sticky why the BRD raid is criminally small? Or why there’s only one Raid throwback across twenty years’ worth of raids?

Thing is, us dad gamers don’t have time for this nonsense.

Like why would it be so bad to get it all done in 1-2 weeks and let us move on to something else?

I was out of town all week for work and so I got none of it done. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this anniversary sucks.

20th but 10% buff…can’t have us having too much fun. Could have been 20% rep bonus at least.

They took out the classic pvp rep tokens, cause why? Fun detected at all the excitement.

I already decided i’ll at max do 100 coins for stuff and move on. I don’t care about the T2 sets.

Hardly. The event is 3 months. People that arrive in the last few weeks may get “punished”, but the tokens are staying, the sets are staying… none of it, as far as I’ve read and researched, is FOMO besides the achievements for 20th specifically.

You have 3 months and none of it is going away permanently. So just farm the tokens at your leasure.

Any link for that? I could have missed it but I never seen a Blue response saying that these rewards are going to stick around.

Not that it would excuse the horrible drip feed of tokens, just curious if this is from an actual Blue or if it is just made up.

Because that pushes people to feel like they have to grind excessively. It also means they can’t really focus on other activities or things they’d like to do outside of the game if they feel like they have to grind constantly to get all the rewards in time.

Also, you know that this would create even more complaints when the no-lifers grind the event to completion then complain that there’s ‘nothing to do’.

You have 3 months, that’s plenty of time to get all the coins you’ll need. Hell I already have 40 at the end of this week, I’ll likely have my 100 by the end of week 3.

You have to EARN something cool in a video game and it isnt just handed to you shocked pikachu face

I’ll be honest the only things that is remotely ruined this anniversary event for me was the forums and the time gating to that first 100 coins.

It’s supposed to be a celebration time getting the celebration just makes it feel Bland and removes a lot of the Joy from it.

The Bronto probably also should have just been given to everybody for the 20-year anniversary event I mean it’s been 20 years for God’s sake some of us have been here since 2004 or 2005 when the game started

We love WoW more than furry visitors like you. That’s why we point out where it should have been made better based on what came before in WoW.
Whereas you’ll accept anything as long as you get free loot and pretty pixels that are a dime a dozen, low standards.

Am i the only one who remembers actual grinds in WoW like actual daily quests and rep grinds that could only be done via those daily quests. Missing a day means you WERE behind the masses by that much.

There was no weekly cap where you had 7 days to max it out or do it all in a day if you so chose.

The “time gating” isnt anywhere near what it was, you know, based on what came before in WoW.

I’m not talking about back when people begrudgingly pvp’d because there was barely any content in the game, and the rep grinds and pvp and raids were the entire game full stop. Come off of it.
I’m talking about as recently as DF and Shadowlands, Shadowlands being the last time we earned that same rep from dungeons, Raids and BGs Just like the bronze tokens should be. :exploding_head:
You’re so quick to come up with some wildly 15-20 year comparison when you know what people are talking about was right around the last corner.
Dishonesty as a personality trait. Awesome, guy.

Nothing has changed in those terms if this is what youre going to reference.

Truth of the matter is the game has gotten easier and easier with time and moved away from the true time committee RPG element and slides ever closer to instant gratification.

Proof: DF vs Wrath

You literally took 7mins from instantly replying to me and didn’t even read what I wrote?:

I read what you wrote, its just irrelevant.
We have weekly caps. DF/SL had weekly caps.

Whether you got the tokens from dungeons and pvp and what not, it wouldnt change anything. It was all answered right here:

Your edit doesnt change any of this.
