I appreciate they did something, but considering how much money and publicity Blizzard has made over time they sort of had to without looking like scrooges. My only real complaint so far is the format is very lame. It’s literally just a comic-con scaled down full of WoW mascotts. I’m not a huge fan of conventions or their weirdness in real life so the WoW version just doesn’t do it for me.
Exactly, so it makes no difference if I get it done in 3 days of pushing or over the next month. The only thing it changes is how drawn out my “engagement” will be.
But I’d do the weeklies on at least one character anyway and maybe even the Hallowfall light thing once. So it changes nothing for me except for going oh I can afford a thing whenever I open my currencies tab at some point in the future.
Tbh now I think about it there’s just no difference between event or no event except for maybe buying some cosmetics eventually.
Same amount of engagement. Youve got 3 months to do it. Whether you spend 72 hours straight in the first 3 days and then spend the next 11 weeks playing other games or spend an hour a day for 3 months and spend your other 5 hours a day playing other games, its the same engagement.
The end result is the same. It doesnt really matter which model they use
As many others have said before you started your journey into the forums:
-1 bronze per raid boss kill
-1 to 2 bronze per end dungeon boss kill
-1 to 3 bronze per delve
-1 bronze per loss and 2 bronze per win in end of BG loot
-2 bronze per rated PVP
-Remove the distasteful weekly cap. This was suppose to be a “celebration”.
All in addition to the world content which is the only place to get the bronze currently.
Newsflash, world content isn’t for everyone. It’s boring. You can press any buttons and succeed. It’s not stimulating to active minds. The bronze acquisition should have never been relegated to that content. A bit insulting.
You don’t have to.
I’m just regurgitating what others have already advised in these forums.
And you certainly don’t have to bring that attitude either.
Some people just want the game to be more fun.
That’s not a slight against you.
Told ya. He wants to go golfing with his buddies and drink beer during work hours and get paid for it, without actually showing up to work to get a paycheck.
Mythic raid gear should drop from world quests because thats what i want to do. Not actually do the content that gives those rewards
Not only do I hate it, it makes me NOT want to log in. FWIW, my best friend literally makes video games for a living at a high level, and is not just disapproving, but infuriated as a player. As a professional, they are perplexed at how Blizz devs possibly thought this event was in any way meant to be fun or feel rewarding. We both agree that it’s not just underwhelming, but straight up feels BAD.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, all these “FOMO” events (Plunderstorm, Remix, this Anniversary event) create a pressure to play that actually turns me OFF of playing. And that was even when the content was FUN (Remix). As it is, I’ve been so underwhelmed by this expansion that I barely dinged one toon to 80, and I don’t even know what the weekly quests are that I’m supposed to be doing to get more of this crappy currency.
tier 2 remakes have entered the chat
I feel like even in the .0000000000001% of cases where this might be true, no one in a forum space will ever believe you.
It’s very easy to try and bolster an argument with “well my wife works right underneath Bezos, and they truly do pay their workers the max they can.”
Very, very easy to artificially insert credibility like that when the source is entirely unverifiable.
Ah, I see the problem: you’re new to this game! Or at least, you’re new to listening to other people’s complain about it.
Here’s what would happen if it was implemented the way you think it should be: People would blow through everything and then complain that there’s nothing to do and how “sucky” this anniversary is as a result.
I know this, because it’s been clear to me since the beta for this game in the summer of '04 that the biggest problem with WoW is and will always be the players due to how they will always have a loud section of the player base complaining about the current state of the game even when the devs go out of their way to address the concerns of the players. This isn’t me engaging in apologia for Blizz, (they have had many, many terrible decisions over the years) but rather pointing out that the player base is functionally impossible to please in totality.
I suppose if I was more vulnerable to FOMO I’d be more bothered by the rate at which bronze drops but unlike some I get that I’m not going to get everything and I understand that that’s fine. I’ll probably get a few of the mog sets (some definitley look better then others), the Staff mogs and beyond that I’ll probably play it by ear.
TBH, I think anything bought with the bronze tokens should have also had a drop chance(w/o the stupidly low RNG of previous events) in the Codex scenario, Timewalking dungeons, the raid, the WBs you need to kill for the event, and the boxes you get for quest rewards.
So people that have a life outside the game don’t want to grind something out that takes a week. Instead they would rather grind it out for 3 months, the 3 months out of the year people are typically busiest with Holiday travel? Really?
So the 20 Year Anniversary Celebration Event should be the same painful grind as Timbermaw Rep?
They will buff it as it goes on just like they did with Plunderstorm and Remix. Anyway…how is it “suckiest” when previous anniversaries were just a small bag of stuff in the mail and nothing else?
Even though I had Master of Timeways buff for an additional 30% for a few levels, it’s insanely fast to level 70-80. I should hit 80 in another delve or two on my lock, which would mean I did those 10 levels in under 2 hours, at least half an hour of that or more in queue for TW.
Have the Meta Achievement unlock all the tier sets, add completing all wings of BRD and all the World Bosses to balance it out if need be.
Add more rare and/or unobtainable mounts, pets, and weapon transmog’s to the vendors to give people something to grind tokens for. That would be a good start.
The event itself is fine, I got the meta and the free mount. That was about enough to engage with the content. The thought of repeating all this for the next 3 months to get the tier sets makes me want to stab myself in the eye with an ice pick.
Yes, because thats exactly what im saying. We need better eye roll emojis
You must be new to WoW and MMORPGs in general. This is how the game operates and has always operated.

I’m, not sure why people want to grind out a Celebration Event with cosmetic rewards so badly?
Personally I have plenty of other stuff to grind. Wouldn’t folks rather save their grinding time for gear in Delves/M+/Raids/PvP/Professions whatever their preferred choice is? Not sure why folks think transmog items should have the same time investment as Hero gear. /smh
I suppose if you already no lifed all those other activities and are just jones’ing for a new grind, but the rest of us are already busy enough.
The room looks great, just needs more furniture, all I’m saying,
Different strokes for different folks. I care not about cosmetics nor mounts, so the anniversary events never tickled my fancy.
But, some people pay $15 a month to play dress up. Even though i dont, i know ive spent a lot more $$$ on a lot less, so to each their own
Edit: plus the “grind” for anniversary is what…5-10% of your total play time for the week? Hardly what id consider a grind. Tedious and repetitious sure. Grindy though?
