Rep grinding fine, long as heck quest chain fine, etc. Just not a single piece of content most people don’t even do.

nah, people want to try different stuff but so far, its just the same version of the old classic with some runes in it
a rune that changes how a class works should not be hidden behind gatekeeping or rep gating

This is probably the only legit complaint I’ve seen on the topic.
Maybe Blizz will them more accessible when the next phase hits.
Runes that make specs function at a basic level being locked behind end of phase content is a perfectly valid complaint regardless of future content. It’s just bad game design.
Imagine if schools refused to teach kids to read until they’d finished their first book report. It sounds dumb because it is.

End of phase content? We’re three days in…and people have it already. You can tank for like 95% of this phase. And then every phase after it.
I have little kids. I get to play in 1 hour chunks. I don’t have time to raid.
Raid locking the rune is an awful gameplay decision (for me and my circumstances).

Wait, if I have to complete the raid to get Meta form I’m just done with it now. I didn’t really want to raid so much as play with friends, so hoping it’s not true (but it probably is).

I agree with this if Warlocks could tank at a lower level but do it better post raid I would be fine with that . Mages can heal at lower levels just not aoe and I am sure there is a few specs that can just not as effectively at lower levels. My main reason for being upset is why this one spec of all of them in SoD why just locks getting gated. If the other classes new Tanks specs were as well it be fine but this is only one. I understand if SoD makes it to later phases this becomes a moot point but as it stands right now , How can people be ok with one class being denied a spec option for the entirety of the Phase. I know some people will say it is not but most bail after the end raid is farmed out for them or they reach the highest attainable level. Users have many different values on what their Endgame is and this gate must go. Locks deserve the ability to tank around the same time as the others are offered theirs not levels later

What if there is an alternate route to obtain it that way but is not available until phase 2 (or later)? Could you run with that?
Just asking because maybe they were planning that? Just scattershooting here to guess at their intent.

Upon further thought this was pretty dumb. Warlocks tanking low level dungeons would have been better. Instead of making them wait until doing the raid of this phase.
But what’s even worse are those runes locked behind the stupid Waylaid supplies nonsense. That’s awful ‘design’.
Rune unlocks should be fun and interesting. Not tedious and boring.

Why do people keep saying things like this? The current endgame is level 25. It’s going to stay like this for a few months. It’d be one thing if the rune were tucked away in Ragefire Chasm or Deadmines or something, but no, you have to finish the current end of phase raid in order to access an entire role. People want Metamorphosis in order to tank BFD, what is there left to tank when you have to clear the raid first? Not to mention, what are new Warlocks that start in phase 2 onward supposed to do when no one is running BFD anymore?
Imagine if, in Classic Era, Warriors could only put points into Arms and Fury until they cleared Molten Core. No other class is locked out of any of their talent trees, just Warrior. Doesn’t that sound absurd?

No, more like we have to wait two months or more to be able to level with it. Level 60 isn’t available. Your attempt at satire doesn’t apply.
None of which changes that BFD is end of phase content for phase 1. Meta should have been level 15 at the latest and it not being available for the dungeons at that level is absolutely a failure on Blizzard’s part.
No one would care if it was just a useful rune rather than one that’s absolutely mandatory to make warlock tanks even function. Lake of fire? Sure, sucks that it isn’t available earlier but it doesn’t absolutely cripple a spec like not having access to meta does.

Oh stop it.
Temporary level 25 cap isn’t endgame. One 5 man dungeon turned 10 man raid (that’s also a cake walk) isn’t endgame. Having access to 30% of your abilities and talents isn’t endgame.
None of this phase is endgame.

Well, it’s clearly not end of phase content. That would mean BFD gets released later on in the phase. It was available right from the start of the phase. It’s max level (for the phase) content though.
That doesn’t excuse the way they implemented the rune, but…just being accurate.
