Heres the thing that I feel a lot of people are missing, for a lot of us the questline to get it isint the issue, The long drawn out questlines to unlock epic things is a nice flavor touch, the issue almost entirely lies in tying it into a raid that absolutely will not be ran come phase two. They could absolutely solve all the issues overnight if they just moved the drops to mobs outside of the instance.
Dude, it was a front, center, and focused advertised feature- to compare Rogue tanks, mage healers, and shaman tanks, itâs having to complete the entire game. Rogues have to go kill random things above level 6 and empty their wallet at the AH (Almost as bad), mages just have to kill some mobs < lv 15, Shamans had to just poke a ghost. Warlocks had to get to max level (meaning missing out on all the dungeons they would have tanked), form a raid group of 20+ and run over to towers teeming with lv28-31 mobs like a rampaging Horde of cracked out orcs- until nothing remained save for memories and faint smears on the walls. Then go and complete the raid/raid quest. It doesnât even have to be easy, but it should have been obtainable by a level where it was still actually useful for this phase.
Beating a game shouldnât be rewarding? Pvp, getting full bis? These are things taht dont exist? I dont think games should be developed for people who are going to 1 and done the content, especially mmos
Would warlocks truly be able to tank with the meta rune? I mean⌠Iâve run a few dungeons with a âtank,â and people canât exactly hold agro very well at 1-25 level. Warriors, the gameâs âtrueâ tank, still have issues holding agro at <25.
And the argument of âThey wouldnât have spent the last few days leveling a lockâŚâ I mean, this doesnât really cut it. People are either going to level a class to experience a playstyle, or they wonât. As others have stated, there is PLENTY of game left - in fact, levels 25-60 - for people to still play a warlock and tank.
Itâs true. You have to go to the Barrens and get the old quest for the Orb of Soranâruk which takes you into BFD to get 3 shrards and SFK for one. Then there is 2 other pieces you have to get from in towers in Darkshore and Red Ridge. The one in Darkshore has level 29-31 mobs that you need a group to get, unless you dead run and try a ninja. Then you get another quest to get some demon blood in Ashenvale.
I would love to, I have been trying to for a few hours by joining or putting groups together, The issue is due to Blizzardâs incompetence in testing their own games and putting the quest in now there is a massive wave of people trying to do the raid making it next to impossible to join as a lock.
Not to mention the people who are now screwd on their lockout that did it before blizz pulled their head out of their backside and fixed the quest, Also you have to worry about your group falling apart before getting to the part then you being screwed.
why is this a thing? What would of been so hard to just make the crystals drop from other mobs out in the world at say a lower drop rate and a higher drop rate in the raid?
This is the issue people have, its not like this is some big brain quest line that leads to some sweet cosmetic reward that you can show off to people and outside of that does not affect gameplay.
tack on the fact that every other class that got a new role got it earlier with far less work just adds to the pile that makes this whole thing feel like a slap in the face.
If they wanted to do something like this the key runes for the new spec play styles should have just been open-world content around the lvl 15 range then lock a rune for every class behind the raid to encourage everyone to do it but make that rune just be one of the classes new abilities that is not a mandatory one to play a spec you want.
There is a significant disparity in the requirements for obtaining tank spec runes among different classes in World of Warcraft Season of Discovery. While other classes, such as rogues can acquire their tanking abilities relatively easily by grinding low level enemies/ah, and shamans just simply must interact with a ghost NPC. Meanwhile, Warlocks are faced with an arduous and time-consuming process.
Clicking a ghost NPC to obtain tank rune vs.
Loot the Orb of Des at the top of the Tower of the Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains and Bough of Altek at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore. Both items will be needed later in the quest.
Complete The Orb of Soranâruk at 49,57 in The Barrens, which requires items from both Shadowfang Keep and Blackfathom Deeps.
This leads to The Conjuring follow-up quest, which requires looting Blood of the Legion from demons at Demon Fall Ridge in northern Ashenvale.
After obtaining the blood, interact with the altar to begin a ritual, summoning a few waves of demons that must be defeated using Drain Soul while standing inside the purple rune on the ground. Defeat the final Searing Infernal this way to trigger the Mysterious Traveler quest.
Return to the Barrens and turn in the quest to receive the final step, Raszel Ander, which will grant the rune.
Blizzard even admitted that they messed up and were wrong, so why canât you.
No, this is endgame, NOW. And given how the community is with previous tier content, you probably arenât going to get this rune unless you do it this phase, or can solo this content at 60, so yeah, it is exactly like a Druid having to clear MC to get bear form, or a Warrior having to clear MC to get d-stance.
Thatâs awesome if true! But still sucks to have to either A: get it through the raid now or wait for phase 2 to make it easier to get. I wish theyâd remove the raid steps now.
looks like the rune system is destined to be go click on this chest for a rune. Fun times. Iâm happy at least that SoD will be dying sooner rather than later with this announcement. Was almost worried itâd actually stick around past a year or two.
No one wants that. Why are you yâall coming in here assuming it has to be insanely difficult or just handed to you for free while 99% of the runes in the game are in bewtween that.
Dont forget the fact that if you are a horde player its a double middle finger trying to run into 2 alliance zones, one that has no flight path anywhere near it for the horde. so as horde on a PVP server, you gotta fight your way to the tower and through the tower while also fending off hordes of alliance players.
Why? If blizz wanted to do something like this one should of been on the north side of Darkshore and the other on the north side of the barrens.
