This is an MMORPG not a single player RPG

Sorry but this will always be superior to any single player RPG even despite the fact that I largely solo everything I do. Give me a single instance of a single player RPG that you couldn’t beat in 15 years of playing, I’ll wait. That’s what I like about this, I will never “finish it,” I will never “beat the game.” That’s been worth the sub all these years. When I was younger and played consoles nothing annoyed me more than paying $60 (which seemed like a fortune in middle school) just to have the game completed in under a week. I couldn’t ever find a single player game that took even 4 months to complete, which is what it would need to provide just to have parity with this.

Animal Crossing.

The Sims.

Harvest Moon.

Minecraft.

I mean, there are a lot of single-player RPGs and near-RPGs that never end.

Solo leveling is certainly one way to play it, but there are already functional leveling guilds, plenty of parties, etc. It’s a choice, but the game is in fact designed for social interaction.

How so? I’m genuinely curious, not being judgmental btw

It doesn’t need to be classic… it just needs to not be mandatory. If all I want to do is fly around on my flying mount, kill random mobs, harvest, professions while running dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds, I shouldn’t need to do a single quest to get there.

The sims is so garbage it ain’t even worth dissing, Animal crossing, at least the OG gamecube version that’s the only one I’m familiar with, I absolutely could cheese the game’s clock and have everything in well under 15 years, and minecraft is like saying you’ll never build the perfect snowman in 15 years, it just isn’t even the same thing at all. Nice try though.

Harvest moon, again I have a feeling there are ways I could cheese it that would cause it to not have “infinite” gameplay though I know the least about that series. Always wanted to try it, never could decide on a time to actually buy it.

Even then none of those games have anything as dynamic as the AH, and that’s just one thing.

So go play Classic.

WoW was being developed after the success of Everquest which required grouping for most classes to gain experience starting at level 1. A number of the original devs came from EQ and were determined to remove or change the things they disliked. Forced grouping was one of them. The penalty for death was another one off the top of my head.

Nooooooo SoM is going so well right now. I don’t want complainers just yet lol

Your solution stinks. I’m asking for the same game without mandatory story quests, not 2004 graphics and suboptimal gameplay

I mean even single player RPGs don’t lock you to these borrowed power systems.

The story is the RPG half of MMORPG

Without a good story or a story at all, would it really be a MMORPG? Imo nope.

Classic most of the time was single player as well .

Do you need a group to go from lvl 1 to 2 ?? Being a hard carry is not the same as grouping geeez

massive multiplayer ONLINE, no where does it say group content. and for the most part youre playing solo anyway

MMOs are played in a wide variety of ways by people with a wide variety of tastes.

In my opinion, no playstyle should be gating access to another playstyle. If people want to play solo, they should be able to jump in and play solo. If people want to strictly group, they should be able to jump in and just group.

Actually the devs have gotten ban happy for screaming gogogogogo and Fake Tank!!! in ESO…they recently got rid of one of the larger hate guilds without Blinking an eye.

And vet dungeon players are around 2% PVP is around 4% but they are trying to give more love to PVP.

I know right? Every time I play my Lesbians keep getting caught on fire! WTAH?

Right, but having the option of solo content doesn’t mean it’s one of the founding principles of the game :stuck_out_tongue: That sort of goes against the point of an MMO.

It will never stop so get used to it. Not everyone wants forced group content.
