Whatever your issue is, bringing it here won’t help. People are just going to not believe you and many will likely antagonize you. Best of luck.
for one you can not talk about game punishment on the forums.
and for two they do have logs of what was said.
three the spammed reports by the same person sounds sus.
and four gm do reas
Most I got was a GM whispering me asking if I was okay because I was spamming suicide jokes in trade chat since I was obsessed with Filthy Frank when I was like 12. This was back when GMs actually were proactive and would DM you in-game, though.
This is why you must never respond to someone harrassing you. Just report and ignore and move on. Taking the bait always has the potential to result in this situation. If you must respond, make sure to do it in as a polite and unemotional way as possible.
Although I am told that if you do respond, blizz is less likely to ban the offender as they see it as you were also provoking them. So if you want the maximum chance of someone getting banned for something they said to you, never say anything back to them.
And you escalated.
And that was how you got suspended.
How many people reported your ‘faux pas’ is immaterial.
You did the crime and paid with time.
In the future, do better.
And, for the record, this is not doing better.
Looks like an attitude issue.
It doesn’t matter who started it. You have to follow the rules even if someone else isn’t.
Report them and they’ll get actioned.
I highly doubt that, but even if you did that will never result in a suspension. A GM reviewed the report and applied the action against your account. If you feel you did not violate the rules, put in a ticket to appeal.
Well, luckily I don’t snitch. I guess the person I said something to got their feelings hurt.
If you don’t report players, that explains why they aren’t getting actioned for the things they say to you. The system is reactive, a player needs to report for a GM to see it.
Just straight up block abusive players. Saying nothing and /ignore “name”.
Dont waste energy on people that are trying to spread their unhappyness in video games.
A single player can’t spam report, anyways.
gets in a fight. goes to jail. gets out of jail. picks fight.
Hope you didn’t engage.
Reporting and ignoring then ticketing for harassment if it continues is about all one can do, and they do generally take it seriously.
It makes my neck lock up because I’m cringing so hard. Oh wait, that’s probably just dehydration.
Yeah, this is kinda what I gathered. Obviously, if someone else said what they said to the OP as they mentioned above, that’s not okay. But these things typically don’t just happen for no reason. If they got suspended for a week, it also wasn’t their first rodeo, so that begs to question what they get up to on a regular basis.
The OP proves one salient point, words mean nothing anymore. I’m so cringed out right now, that I cringed myself into a cringe pretzel.
All of that sounds pretty cringe to me.
I cringed so hard I contorted.
And there’s your problem.
A violation is a violation. You think that just because it wasn’t a high crime, somehow not reporting on it makes you the better person? No. Instead, you empowered these people to continue to act like this. That’s how the fallacy of “Blizzard doesn’t care” or “Reports do nothing” manage to keep going.
And really, how the hell do you expect them to fix the problem with that attitude? Instead, you apparently took whatever bait they tossed out at you and got yourself actioned over it. Great job!
Use it as a learning lesson. Don’t engage with clowns and get in the mud with them, cause at that point you’re no better than them. Report it, move on, and just maybe if the person in question is a frequent problem that winds up on Blizzard’s radar enough, no one will hear from them again.
And FWIW: this topic really isn’t helping matters for you. If anything, it’s showing Blizzard that they were correct to take action against you.
