They are overly dependent on data which is why they have done nothing with Rogues and Demon Hunters.

If nearly every single person who is testing a hero tree is saying it feels terrible to play, then chances are it’s not just the few people that dont like it happen to be the ones testing. Im not talking 70% of feedback is negative, im talking 99%, with the 1% being conditional on hypothetical changes.
This is literally not the case. Aldrachi Reaver is a perfect example. It does amazing single target damage, possibly the most single target damage in the game right now, and great aoe too. DHs absolutely hate it. Nobody is happy about either of the playstyles it puts you in, for raid or m+. And before you ask, veng isnt too thrilled about it either. Havoc is strong, but havoc is not happy. Plenty of feedback for why that is has been given, and it’s not something that just turning a tuning knob would fix.
it’s 2024. everything is rushed. You don’t come up for air anymore, you have to wait for the waves to fall beneath you.
They were working on two at the same time. they weren’t behind, this one is rushed. Put down the copium, its bad for your lungs.
Not sure what youre talking about here
Internet forums are notorious for being biased toward people who complain. People who have no problem with hero trees are not going to say a word, they are just going to talk about what they see as issues.
What will happen is that people will make selections from the tree, enter dungeons and raids, and Blizzard people will see how well they are progressing and see the results of their raids on the server side.
This is why I watch the surf for 20 minutes to know where the dangers are, not to mention I duck dive those waves.
FFXIV does it, WoW should as well.
pretty sure every Diablo 4 expansion will add a new class.
If you played DF since its launch and bought the bare bones expac, you have paid almost $400 bucks for this game just since then. The content from this expansion and from quite a few others in this games history has been subpar. I have played other games for under 50 bucks with the same amount of playtime I got out of DF. Example, I have almost 5k hours in Counterstrike and it cost me $9 dollars for prime. A few operations over the years each about 10 bucks I think, so maybe $50 or 60 bucks for 5000 hours.
I am aware of that. You seem to not be getting the difference in the feedback between the hero trees that I am trying to convey here. The feedback for fel-scarred is mostly disappointed about how unimpactful half of the talents are, but still offers suggestions for how to fix it and that it can be a good hero tree if it just gets any of the feedback acted on. The feedback for aldrachi reaver on the other hand is overwhelmingly negative with no hope for an enjoyable tree without serious reworks.
Again, the issues that many hero trees have can not be solved with just tuning numbers.
I have a PSA from Blizzard:
The expansion is being rushed indeed! Not only this but the next THREE expansions are being super rushed to condense the length of the Worldsoul Saga. This way you don’t have to wait 6+ years for the conclusion of the Saga and instead it concludes over the course of say 4+ years.
This shocking news just blew the lid off the story… not only is WW rushed, but the next two are rushed as well. AND they are also working on the others as I type this and Midnight already has zones being built. Can you believe that?
This is serious controversial news and confirmed from Blizzard HQ.
All hail WaWa our next rushed expansion.
Blizzard is in Agile development mode now for better or worse. Business owners demand results by specific quarters no matter what. This Warband feature may seem like one thing, but it is a massive undertaking that non-developers may not fully appreciate how much work is involved. There is a real reason why they said it might take upwards of 20 minutes to process the Warband data. I think that is why this expansion content seems small, it’s because they only intend for it to last a year. I would expect WoW: Midnight to come out about the same time late August or September of 2025.
Well I wasn’t in beta and I’m not looking into TWW features until I get there. Not interested in spoilers. What I’m talking about is how beta in general happens and I’m basing it on a career working in software groups for major computer manufacturers. I’m also going by what Ion said.
Beta of any major software product is for testing what you have to make sure there are no major problems before it is released to the public. If a software group is not seeing major problems, just people saying they wished the product worked a different way, they generally don’t make big changes during beta. It’s something to consider for a later release.
They’re also notorious for having people who just feel like being contrarian for the jollies.
That explains it.
Then i think the issue is that you are basing it off of how beta works with what you work with. Betas exist for more than just software. Board games and card games also have beta phases. The point of them obviously is not to catch bugs or instability in the board game, but to receive feedback on how the game feels to play. WoW is software, yes, but it is also a game. Video games use betas for both of these reasons.
Add to that, people who just don’t want to hear a different point of view. Once an angry internet group gets on an echo chamber roll, all they want others saying is what they want to hear.
I was just trying to add a point, from my experience, of how software groups in general work when releasing a major product.
Just the other day I did a thing where I queued for heroic from a Tier 7 Delve, heroic queue popped, I entered and completed the dungeon. After I the game bugged out and couldn’t port me back to an instance that wasn’t found. The delve I was in bugged out the games ability to port me back somewhere. I relogged and was stuck in a floating freefall state.
Luckily I could still queue up in follower dungeons and fixed it. I reported the issue as best as I could.
Padgarre the bug smasherer
I see the makings of a first rate software engineer. Always finding a way to make it work.
Today’s long maintenance is just an example of what’s to come.
The last beta build from a week ago has been broken so your game crashes constantly and they haven’t even fixed it yet.
Likely had the same exact issue with the pre-patch.
What do you think the chances are yaks crash people’s games?
