Same situation here. I have two paid accounts, but my F2P account is my baby that I have put the most effort into.
Is everyone experiencing this at different banks, or the Ironforge bank like myself?

Warband banking is gone for all F2P players regardless of the location. Yeah…it sucks.
same here. i went to pull out an item i had put in my warband like a week ago for a character on my vet account that just had its sub expire and got the same message. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is intended functionality.
Yep, could access from Stormwind last night but not today. Have checked Shrine, Shrine Engineer bank, and Legion Dal and no go, so it does seem to be everywhere.
Went to Gadgetzan to see if we can/need to do the quest but they are not there, so it’s not that.
If intentional, this is really gross. My warband bank was filled to capacity with mats and enchants I was sharing between my characters, and 5k gold. We should have been warned.
Edit: If this is intentional, please put the warband bank on withdraw only, so we can retrieve our items, like ESO does when you stop paying for their reagent bank.
If it’s intentional they forgot to prevent use of materials. I have most of my alchemy ingredients in the warbank and I can use them to craft potions. Odd
If this is a bug, please fix it. If this is intentional, i think it is irresponsible cause blizzard didnot let me know before.
Any information on this would be welcome. I have currencies and mats I can no longer access through alts that previously had bank access but no longer do.
Was this a mistake and its being corrected?
Was it intentional but temporary to combat bots?
Was it intentional and permanent?
Cutting off bank access with no public statement is not exactly a great look
It’s worse for me, I used the warband bank to shuffle items to save space on all characters - so gear and what pisses me off the most are the crafting goods I have on the F2P character bags and not actually in the bank. Not sure what to say about this but anger…
I hope this is just some kinda bug. I have just over 1k marks of honor stuck on a f2p account now.
I too am having this issue. Worked the day before winterveil patch, now I’m lock out of warbank on all characters.
Like many, I’m hoping this is a bug. Recently came back to the game and have been having a blast grinding on my level 20 twink from a level 11. Was starting to prepare - mentally - for the taxing JC grind as a F2P, but now I’m losing a drive to keep playing because I can’t even TRY to bank gold.
Can I afford a sub with gold? Yes. Do I have a drive to sub? No. Blizzard should just embrace letting F2Ps grind their way to a WoW token with no gold cap, but keep most of the other limitations. If someone is able to earn enough gold without the AH on a level 20, more power to them, but at the VERY least don’t punish the people who are enjoying their twink adventures.
I doubt anyone from Blizzard will even read this, but if this is intentional, its not going to get me to give you more money. I’ll just remove the game and go play something else instead.
You had this feature working fine for six months. People got used to it and put important stuff in there. Then to just lock it away with no warning to try and squeeze a few more subs out is scummy as can be. It shows this is still the same old company as always, just with more stuff on the cash shop cause the xbox division keeps bleeding money.
I suspect that the Warband bank was supposed to be locked to trial accounts from the very beginning. Did someone forget to implement this? It seems in keeping with the general rushed, buggy feel of this expansion. The preponderance of bugs and broken things is the whole reason that I am playing on trial characters right now.

They knew it was working for non subs at the start. There was a bug where you could take out more gold than your 1000 cap and it would vanish. They fixed that bug after about a week. So they knew people had access to it. This is an intentional change half a year later if its not a bug.
I wrote out a long rant with a similar sentiment, but I am trying to keep my emotions in control.
tl;dr In no reality will I upgrade my F2P account to Retail. I have given Blizzard hundreds, probably thousands, of dollars in subs, xpacs, cash shop, and merch over my life time. I don’t play F2P because I don’t want to pay a sub. Takesies-backsies like this one just make me want to go play GW2 or FFXIV where they don’t try to bully the players into giving them more money.
As annoyed as I am about this whole warband bank thing, I don’t agree that F2P should be able to get Tokens. We already have access to a huge part of the game with no investment.
Allowing a F2P to gather enough gold for a Token without ever paying into the game will create a bot and gold seller problem like no tomorrow.
I don’t get the problem with getting gold for a token without ever paying, it’s not like a big deal to pay $15 for one month and grind the rest of the way with gold, so that can’t be the issue. Something else here, I still would like to know… If there really was some bot issue here that is a separate problem.
This still does not solve the fair use issues, I wish I had just created extra lowbies on my normal account to store items on, how could that be any different (then again, I don’t even have 50 characters on one account, just nice to be able to load two chars in at once…)?
From my ticket “Regarding the issue with Warbank bank tabs being inaccessible to unsubscribed accounts, this is a known issue that has been reported by several players. The development team is aware of the problem and is actively working on a fix. However, there is no specific timeline for when this will be resolved.” Now, I don’t trust blizzard not to change their mind on this, but its at least very encouraging. I think overall the feature encourages more subs for them and investment in the game.
Promising language!
With the holiday season how many are actually even working next week. Fix probably won’t happen till after the 1st of the year. Assuming this isn’t a case of the right hand not talking to the left and the GM responses are uninformed.
Thank you. Sad that Blizzard now communicates just like Uber support. Thanks, Microsoft.
