Party partner and i are working on unlocking kul tiran humans got sidetracked by shadowlands but returned to the questline to finish it as friends want to hit the dungeon in the reqs and have been stopped by this. We werent even able to get out of there and level in SL instead as we were stuck in a loop and i had already tried stuck character service. I really hope this is fixed quickly. I have other characters to work on but this holding up not only ourselves but our friends
Apparently, this is what have some results. But, you have to keep in mind (and action) that you have to stop walking (or anything else) after some secs before the quest appears.
PS.: I only do attacks to kill enemies (doing the quests after the “This ain’t mine”).
Put a countdown or something. I was doing the things right, but walked a little after talked to Jaina (quest after) and I was teleported to the gates of Orgrimmar.
Well…
I have answered here with the profile of one of my alts.
I did all of that (Shinkirou) with my Ally Human Hunter.
I am having the exact same issue. Although, I am unable to log back into the game once in the loop. I’m stuck in a loading screen and hear my character dying repeatedly.
I’m having this issue as well, on a level 51 Mage character. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get in there, I haven’t been able to get past about 500 ft. or so from Anduin before I’m ported into Orgrimmar. I opened a ticket on it, they told me that they can’t help me because of all the tickets and to check wowhead.
Been having the same problem as well; get ported to Orgrimmar and stuck in an endless loop of loading it, getting attacked by guards, loading in, getting attacked, dying, loading, unable to return to graveyard/rez, loading, forever, until using “unstick” service.
Any news so far? I just hit this Groundhog Day aggravating situation as well. Did the support character stuck thing and teleported to the Hill. Tried flying back there and it said like 800 away from the gates and i’m suddenly back at the gates of Orgrimmar and the exact same crap stated above by others, just loading screen, only a second of game time, then loading screen, try to die so i can go to the graveyard, loading screen comes on too quickly, etc. I wasn’t even able to get close to Orgrimmar by any stretch of the imagination and the loop starts again. So, so frustrating.
You are correct in that “Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons” quest is the culprit. When you abandon this quest you will be able to do the rest of the questline BUT the quest will keep on re-accepting every few seconds so be ready to abandon it everytime. The tricky part is when you are near Anduin or Jaina when completing a quest or accepting the next quest as the Shadowlands quest reaccepts and almost instantly teleports you to Orgimmar gates. If it does, just keep on trying and always abandon the quest as fast as you can. Another tricky part of the questline is “The Price of Victory” as Genn Greymane might not be on the bridge, if that is the case you need to move away and come back to try to get to the right phase of the quest.
When the cutscenes are playing, the Orgrimmar loading screen will keep on showing over and over. It’s bad but you’ll get over it.
Good luck!
How long, approximately, do you think it would take to be fixed? I want to do this before doing Shadowlands, but this is impossible and absolutely frustrating.
They said the exact same thing… you cant FINISH the WAR campaign and you keep being killed over and over again… but “Sorry, too busy” is the reply.
The above posts are correct. If you have the patience, the quest line can be completed but it is incredibly annoying. Every time “Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons” pops (about every 10 secs), quickly abandon it. I kept my quest log open while completing the quests in the area. If you do happen to find yourself flagged at the gates of Org, just keep trying to abandon it. I found that backing out into the dirt in front of the gate gave me more time to click Abandon and then Yes. If you are successful, you’ll phase out, the guards will disappear, and the doors will close. Be prepared to abandon “Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons” shortly after this. It pops soon after you enter the quest chain phase.
You are the new BLUE. Gratitude. I’d throw you a Mark of the Wild but I can’t seem to find it in my spellbook.
A macro can be used to abandon the quest:
/script local q = C_QuestLog.SetSelectedQuest(60545); C_QuestLog.SetAbandonQuest(q); C_QuestLog.AbandonQuest()
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzkZagDGo44 little video of what happens. I will submit it in the bug report too since the report i got back basically told me they couldnt find the issue
thank you for this!
Just a little update if you complete the shadow lands starter quest you can come back to this and not have to abandon I have done it both ways now. the abandon quest way and also completing the shadowlands pre quest way. they both work.
Update: Blizzards response to my ticket was to complete the first part of the shadow lands quest to continue… I asked for a blue post on this thread since a multi million dollar developer company should not have work arounds this late after the release it should of been hotfixed by now, and people are still getting stuck in the loop as they have not added this to the known issues either.
I was stuck in the endless loop. Copied this string to the clipboard.
Had to quickly hit enter and paste (Ctrl V) and it worked I rezzed outside the gates and was free thank you so much
I think I figured this out. This quest appears to be bugged on both Alliance and Horde. To get it to work, you have to play through the first few bits of the new expansion. Go hear the fate of the leaders, then follow the questline until you create a portal to Oribos. When you come back, it should all be working just fine. I tested this on both an Alliance and Horde toon.
I see that this issue has been known for at least 14 days, so why hasn’t Blizzard placed a warning on the Battlenet screen so that more people don’t get stuck? I found out too late that Blizzard posted a week ago that this is “working as intended” and players should play through the initial Shadowlands quest to avoid this issue, but that doesn’t help me since I’m now dead and stuck in an endless loop at the loading screen with no chance of going further to use a macro to break out of the loop as suggested in another message. So leaving me stuck at the loading screen is working as intended?
There is a post that covers this case (which I ran into): https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000277725
Since the Shadowlands quest line is “pushed” to characters at the appropriate level, this problem is certainly going to be experienced by a number of people.
Playing through the initial Shadowlands quest line fixes things because it means there’s no longer a dependence on the out-of-phase Orgrimmar setting. I suspect, but have not verified, that dropping the intro Shadowlands quest line would also fix the problem.
