they always start good and then get nerfed every expansion…
I hate that bliz ruins specs with nerf - why cant they just incrementally tone a spec/class down?

enh will probly get nerfed, the others aren’t super egregious might be safe
ENH and WW will be nerfed, DH and DK are both also busted but DK doesn’t get talked about. So if your specifically targeting something blizzard won’t nerf than probably DK.
realistically the only thing that enh will see nerfed might be a cap on 10x mw against players
i can’t rly see anything else busted since it’ll solve elemB chunking people for 80% of their hp other than you have to have WA to see when a shaman has DW rolling
i mean other than getting hit by 900 windfury weapon procs in under 3s

They are poised to get nerfed again…especially Enhancement.
They may nerf the damage but I feel like shaman of all specs have a really good tree with lots of great choices.
I’ll probably main it in DF.
Oh I guarantee you Enh will get nerfed hard. Might take until the 1st tournament but Blizzard will bust out Lucille sooner or later.

Enh bubble will get popped for sure. It always does.
Ele is consistently a mid-tier caster, sometimes it pops into the S tier. It has a lot of tools in DF, but it is really squishy (it also lost earth ele wall for some stupid reason, but gained mobility).
It can cut someone in half with power of the maelstrom + surge of power + stormkeeper, if you can live long enough for the procs.
Resto’s viability will really be determined by tuning. Right now, it lacks the hard stops that other healers like holy pal / holy priest have, but it’s incredibly mana efficient. If it is tuned properly to have big heals it will be great with other self sustaining classes (new talents let your damage ramp your healing further so you kinda play 40% dps, 60% heal).
Either way, one of the shaman specs will be very viable. Will they be god S tier facerolling their way to r1? Outside of enhance’s busted setup right now, probably not.

Resto’s viability will really be determined by tuning.
Resto not having a save button besides spirit link totem (requiring manual template targeting and for the other person to obey and stand in the circle) will keep it from being heavily fotm’d even if the rest of the kit winds up overtuned and godly. It’s not plug-and-play, so to speak.
They never touched Dwayne the entire SL so I call safe.
the thing about enhance is that it’s ALWAYS good even if it’s not meta
turbo is one of the most consistent comps of all time and wwenh has incredible potential whenever both specs are good at all at the same time
bfa was the first time i think basically ever that enhance was genuinely unplayable
but lots of specs were just REALLY bad almost the entirety of bfa

I think it’s been shown that if it’s a melee dominant season, then ele and resto aren’t very good and enhancement will shine because of turbo. I was thinking of playing my shaman but idk after tinkering around with ele. Every other class is getting massive power creep and ele feels more or less the same
You have to play power of the maelstrom + surge of power + stormkeeper. It’s legion ele all over again. Lava burst until you get PoM proc, earth shock for surge, stormkeeper = cuts someone in half.

The hard cc and defensives still def suck
Every class is going to see “Nerfs” and buffs including probably all 3 Shaman trees… They just introduced a new talent system no matter what you roll you should buckle up because they are going to take all the classes for a ride over the span of this Xpac.

I know I said this but a 25% nerf across the board seems a bit much…Why not just nerf the way the 10x maelstrom stack talent works?

A 25% nerf to anything that has made it to live is embarrassing… Not to mention it’s a terrible practice. Get everyone super excited…let them spend time and energy and build expectations on their new shiny class and then drop a big stinker in the middle of their plans… Nice job Blizz… Way to take something that would have fueled fun and excitement and transform it into bitter resentment.
The wildest part about it is that they could have prevented the 1 shot if they’d just nerf the 10x maelstrom talent or just replaced it with something else.
