i never seem to get that reply. ![]()
at least it wasn’t brb swat outside.
About a couple years or so ago i heard a knock (thought itwas on my door but turned out to be on the door of the apartment next to mine) and went and opened the door to see who it was. Turned out to be Several county sheriffs, some detectives and local law enforcement (a few had those riot like shields).
Must have been roughly a dozen of them total. My eyes went wide and closed the door and i went to find the safest place in my apartment to take cover in case any shooting started.
I never found out why all of them were at my then neighbors door.
I remember back in the EQ days, during my applicant period to one of the top server guilds, before the days of voice coms, one of the requirements was that you be able to simultaneously manage your character in a tense fight AND be able to respond in chat.
Yeah. It’s a good thing EQ was mostly about facing the right direction and auto attacking. That wouldn’t have worked too well if they had WoW’s combat system.
I remember back in like Cataclysm - my main at the time had herois 25 BiS everything from Dragon Soul.
For lulz I would join LFR and see how much of the raid’s damage I could produce.
After this first boss (think I accounted for half of the damage) the resident LFR raid leader was giving us an explanation of the next boss (with mutterings of nerf MY class sprinkled in) and he finished with “Ok, ready?”
At which point I piped up with “WAIT WAIT WAIT I need to open my spellbook to the right page!”.
Which generated several howls of “newb”, “GTFO”, and “3 more needed to kick”…
Until someone linked meters and said “That giggly NE is doing like 55% of the raid’s damage… who cares if it’s rolling it’s face on the keyboard - it’s making this run quick and easy”
STILL got kicked.
LFR is the short bus of WoW I tell you.
Sounds so much like LFR. I always loved dps, healers and tanks geared like you so that my iffy skills wouldn’t get highlighted as you made everyone else look weak. LOL.
I love your character’s name. Waaaaay back when I used to play D&D I had a fighter with that name.
“BRB but my GF is going to tank while I’m gone and she’s kind of new.” - said some time ago in a not easy dungeon and I groaned out loud.
I should not have groaned, she was a much better tank than he was and the rest of the dungeon was a dream.

This is the worst.
Sorry, not sorry. I don’t have patience for the “super stoned” wasting my time.
“I want it that way”
“Boomkin?”
I think I auto-clench when a pug with a demonology lock approaches the fallen pillar before the second boss (Amarth?) in Necrotic Wake. So many times one of the demons pulls the big skeleton.
“My gear is about to break. I forgot to repair before the run. Anyone got a repair bot?” (in the middle of a Sanguine Depths).
The answer was no and it was rip key thanks to that guy.
As a bm hunter i love that pillar because all the other players nervously cluster around me and i can feel the sigh of relief when i hit ‘dismiss pet’. like i might be a bm hunter in s3 but i’m not THAT bad!
(I then fail to interrupt or cc for the rest of the dungeon, because i gotta keep up the bm reputation somehow.)
I mean, its not like they could waste their time better than I can waste my own time, at least when we broaden the scope to real life, vs fantasy. It also isn’t much different from current game design with time gating. At that point, I wasn’t on that hamster wheel. You can turn that tread mill to max, my butt is going to go at my pace lol. Given it was like 2 am, there was no way we were going to get a tank anyway, so our only and best option was a drunk/stoned druid tank.
“Why would I waste gold on food/flasks/gems/enchants?”
How about the infamous my cats on fire.
Or, I just got 3 gear upgrades & I have to still transmog them.
“It’s only a plus X…we should be fine”
For some reason when people say this there is a high likelihood that we DON’T end up being fine.
A dungeon I had. a new player, boosted toon. Did only a few quests and full AH blues and epics first dungeon comes in “This is my first time tanking”. Heard it was a quicker queue.
Imagine one person fn the group just typed
“?”
after anything happens.
This is so much true !
