Things you can do with the upcoming transmog system

0: SITUATIONS! The big one. This allows you to change your transmog automatically and for free based on contextual situations. An easy example is you can make it so when in a rest area you are using loadout A. Maybe you got some casual civillian clothes on. But while outside of a rest area you are in Loadout B which has you wearing badazz protective gear. Can also have a third loadout for when you are swimming or mounting and also there is racial form options which works for worgen and dracthyr.

1: There is a easy way to disable all transmog without deleting any of your sets or having to pay to put a set back on. Just find the button in the top left corner of the transmog ui that says “clear current transmogrification”. Left then right click it. It won’t stick if you don’t right click it if you have any kind of situation enables.

2: You can a make it an outfit slot you can set (untransmogged) as an appearance (separate from hidden) and so like if you wanna look like a clown while doing open world stuff but when you go into dungeons and raids you look hard like heroic you can.

3: You’ll be able to save BUILDS for seperate transmog. Which will be good with elite specs cuz maybe you want to look different as frostfire versus sunfury.

4: All of your currently available saved custom sets will still exist and function seperately from the loadout system.

5: It is currently possible to change your appearance between your saved loadouts (NOT custom sets).

6: You are able to buy* up to 50 loadouts although custome sets seems to be limited to only 20 still.

7: You get 2 loudouts for free and every one every that will cost. I think it’ll be 160k for the first 20 and unsure on the 30 after that. BUT the unlock is account wide.

8: You can now track premade sets even if you do not have every piece and clicking on it will have you automatically load what pieces you DO have onto your loadout.

9: You can spend much more gold! Current prices are about 100-120% higher on beta at the moment. Brought down from 500% higher in the previous build. Some players may save gold but depending on how much you like to experiment with new appearances you may still end up paying more. There is also the upfront single purchase cost for the up to 50 loadouts with only 2 being free. Also lowbies pay the same as max level characters about ~2.5k gold.

10: You can set a slot to “ignore” therefor it won’t be transmog’d over.

I do like that some feedback was taken, more outfit slots and reducing the absurd costs is a good step. I don’t mind it being a little more expensive than now because of the extra features, but I do think it needs level scaling still so it doesn’t make it prohibitively expensive for new players to muck around with. Not that they’d have a ton of transmog anyway, but it’d suck as a new player to say, find the trading post and get a set you think is cool, then find you don’t actually have the gold to use it.

Hopefully more feedback is taken and further kinks are worked out.

Great info post, but a few corrections/comments below…

I was unable to find a way to apply a saved set under the Custom Sets tab (where all my legacy save sets went to) without first paying a cost to assign it to an unlocked Outfit Slot. Care to elaborate the steps you used to “separately” apply a Custom Set to your currently equipped gear without assigning it to an Outfit Slot first?

On the Custom Sets tab there is a button to create a “New Custom Set” which allowed me to create 5 new save-sets at no cost for a total of 25 (up from 20 on Retail, although that too should likely be boosted to 50). Again there is a cost to assign a saved set to an Outfit Slot.

The cost reductions are not live on Beta yet… that’s happening 3-Dec per This Blue Post.
