Things to look out for after maintenance:

-Hunter pets are turning growl on mid-dungeon
-Hunter pet specs cannot be changed
-Secondary talents are resetting ability bars FIXED
-Naxxramas is not dropping battle pets FIXED
-Certain dungeons are removing buffs, including stances and the monk exp buff (Maraudon Earthsong Falls, Stratholme Service Entrance, and Blackrock Depths Upper City)
-First boss of AQ40 is also removing buffs, and completely disabling class passives until switching specs and back
-Certain abilities are repeatedly playing their sound effects, such as various class procs, and Holy Paladin’s Beacon of Light constantly repeating from Eternal Flame ticks
-Internal bag error when trying to cage pets when there is no space in the main bag FIXED
-Clear/reflective floor textures, such as the walkways in Vortex Pinnacle, are broken and/or missing, displaying black and white checkered boxes instead
-Chat disappears during pet battles
-Parts of the pet battle UI remain on screen after a battle
-Heirloom shield has no armor stat
-Can’t link items in chat FIXED Partially fixed, some items can be linked but others still can’t
-Quests in the quest log are erroneously offering more gold than they should
-Some pets cannot receive flawless battle stones
-Friend list is showing people’s location as “Unknown”, and also showing people offline as still online
-Monks are still not using the correct autoattack animations
-The chest at the end of heroic Culling of Stratholme can’t be looted
-Some professions are unable to learn certain recipes

Feel free to mention more and I’ll keep the post updated over time. Just figured it would be nice and helpful to have a master post of what’s still messed up and what to look out for if it’s been fixed or not

Chat box missing during pet battles. I’m not sure if that was a thing back in the day but I don’t remember it.

Once maintenance is done, if any of these issues are fixed I’d appreciate if someone would report in here so I can update the post accordingly. Got a short work shift today so won’t be back home to check myself for a few hours :slight_smile:

I certainly hope this is to address all the issues that popped recently as mentioned in your post, but the AQ40 first boss problem has been happening for ages and I’ve lost all hope that it’ll ever be fixed.

Bars are still broken, just reloaded my UI and half my abilities were gone, scrolled the bar back and forth and they got filled in by random abilities from different bars and the battle pet heal. Switching specs didn’t fix it like before restart.

Zoning into a dungeon doesn’t seem to break them but switching specs does.

Chat is still missing during pet battles.

I heard it resetting after a mind control and taking over an hour to respawn has been broken for ages, I wasn’t aware the buff/passive thing was too

Heirloom shield still has no armor stat.
Item links still don’t show up in chat.
Quests at 85 still giving less gold than shows in the quest log/severely nerfed gold.
Cannot change Hunter pet spec.

Action bars swapping to your primary spec when zoning seems to be fixed.
Proc sound spam seems to be fixed.

Yeah I started going in there during Wrath and it would break your entire spec, causing you to lose access to abilities/passives/etc. so that you were insanely weak after he attempts to mind control you.

The following are still bugged:

  • Hunter pets often revert back to their default specialization.
  • Hunter pets occasionally lose their specialization altogether (labels missing on dialog pane).
  • Hunters occasionally stop attacking (even auto-attack) for no apparent reason.

Also, these are workable but extremely annoying:

  • When focus fire procs, the noise it makes is very loud and repeats several times. Sometimes, it procs and does this just before a fight ends and there’s little to no reason to use it.
  • Gun noises are too loud while bow/crossbow noises are too quiet. In hectic, tight quarters scenarios, it’s difficult to know when a bow auto-attacks unless you visually see it. Please balance these better.

I don’t know about what it’s showing in the quest log, but the reason for quests not getting their max level reward bonus is a by-product of prepatch - the game is reading max level as 90 instead of 85, we’re effectively just exp locked until the expansion proper launches

I understand the reason why it’s happening, but the cap is still 85 and we should receive level 85 gold. Blizzard not having the foresight to see what all they would break by implementing it this way is not an excuse.

This thread is about actual bugs, not design decisions you aren’t happy with. As far as I can recall (admittedly I’ve never paid any attention to this personally) prepatch has always worked like this

This was not a design decision, this was an unintended result of not doing the smallest amount of thinking. No prepatch has ever done this.

Plus, how is giving me 9 gold when the quest in my log says 20+ not a bug?

I haven’t really had a desire to change my pet spec previously so not sure how this worked before. I have noticed that when logging in, the ability to “learn” another pet spec was grayed out. Going to a Stable Master, putting the pet in/out seems to have allowed me to click the button again, but it says, “The specialization doesn’t match your assigned role.” when trying to do so.

Is this new? I’ve only really had issues (or noticed them) with noggenfogger elixer “buffs” being removed when entering/exiting instances from time to time. I’ll keep an eye out since the maintenance.

It’s been going on since prepatch launch, as far as I’m aware those are the only 3 dungeons that it happens with, but if my theory of it specifically affecting the last wing of multi-wing dungeons is correct, it probably happens in Upper Blackrock Spire too

I also think this has been happening since the start of prepatch, but I only just started doing pet battles recently myself so I can’t confirm for sure
