I miss having two handed axes that looked like they’d be comfortable to hold and not just like large one-handed ones.
I miss swords that don’t look like clubs, or that don’t look so oddly shaped that they’d snap upon hitting something. Blades that don’t just appear to be mildly sharpened blocks of raw iron.
I miss bows that were lithe and slightly engraved, wrapped in leather and ribbon. Ones that didn’t have a hand guard the size of your forearm.
I want staffs that aren’t just maces with a flourish. Give me a long, ornate pole with a head that means something. Give me skulls, give me tongues, give me religious symbols! Where’s the sha’tarii symbol atop a pole made of shaped talbuk horn?
And daggers. They’re not one handed swords - they’re knives. Short, small, surgical. A gnome’s dagger shouldn’t be the length and width of their forearm - that’s a mace. You want a blade for nipping tendons and piercing organs, not for denting plate.
I want axes with weight to them - like the Kul’tiran gun axes. The short, stocky handle, the blade that curves down to give you more control - I want those. And for the two handed, don’t give me those giant, oversized honkin fan blades. Give me a compact splitting head. Engraved, adorned - sure. But not every blade has to the Xal’atoh. Gorehowl, the original one, would be perfect if it was just a little thinner and less round.
I love WoW’s art style, and I love all the weapons that’ve come out!!! I just miss the old thin slicy dicy stuff that felt like it had weight to it.
At the very beginning but by the end of the whole thing, they offer green quality items. The armor sets are the battlefront/PvP stuff from BfA, except they don’t have the shoes to complete the set.
But even then the rapiers are exaggerated - the hand guard is huge, the blade itself is long and a little too thick for my tastes. I feel it is a step in the right direction - I really loved the castle Nathria sets tbh.
I do agree that the blade is thicker then what it should be for a rapier, looking at it’s point up to the hilt, it even has a square shape from the point, which goes against what rapiers, and swords, designs.
