They/them pronouns

I think I remember Jaina referring to the player character as them in a cutscene once. I really can’t remember the last time I was referred to as him in-game.

Maybe in the older expansions, I don’t know. We’re almost always referred to with a gender-neutral term like Champion, Maw Walker, [Class], etc.

I think this is valid. Amen.

you mean 3?

Yeah when do we get Body type 3, and what will it be?

why do you care, it’s a game?

Lol why did you delete that just to repost it? Also, why do you not want more customization? BT 1 and 2 we already have. Gimmie a third new thing. Extra tall? Extra short, those old KT forms we never got.

Once this type of adaptation is pushed forward, the gates for all the rest are opened. Give an inch take a mile type situation that will be a grueling task done by low paid interns/entry-level employees in their respected departments.

Honestly, I’m more interested in that optional Voice Options and really hoping for some sort of “smokers” voice.

because it wasn’t shown as a reply to you. I wanted to make sure that my comment was directed at you. I think you are misunderstanding my original post that you replied to as your follow up in this comment is aligned with what I was initially saying.

First post in the thread you tried to imply a whole group was something awful, so again more projection.

Implying that a certain group is because you’re so upset at pronouns or LGBTQIA+ in general isn’t a fact.

It’s a fact that there’s mods for the game that people use, it is not ‘detected instantly and getting banned for it’ but funnily enough previously you claimed they never even existed.

The moderator is decided on who was on first and joined, and then afterwards if they leave whoever else has the oldest char. There’s no set moderation, it’s always open. Again, said chat channel breaks ToS(Old term, it’s EULA and CoC now btw).

They do not, feel free to ‘google it’ or you know search support forums.

I mean you literally got through by changing one word. You literally tried to claim NSFW char names or NSFW CANNOT be in the game because it’s against the rules. How silly is it to claim there’s no crime because crime would be against the law?

I always go back to the scene from Snatch.

Avi: Should I call you Bullet? Tooth?
Bullet Tooth Tony: You can call me Susan if it makes you happy.

Call me whatever you want…just don’t call me late for raid time. If someone else wants me to refer to them as dungeness, then I will. Just don’t get upset when I forget and just give me a nice reminder. It will sink in sooner or later. No skin off my nose. Takes two seconds to be kind.

Is what you’re describing a bad thing? more customization seems like a good thing to me. It’s a game, you can be yourself or you can fantasize about being whatever you feel like. Any parallels to IRL are silly to make. Who cares what others make their toons to be? if you care, you should do some very deep reflection, its not like you have to play with those you disagree with on such trivial matters.

NO!
~ You’re welcome blizzard I answered for you.

Immersion is best accomplished when grounded in some form of reality or it has a genuinely believable foundation.

Gender being on a spectrum is an idea not grounded in anything real, nor is it genuinely believable. Customizing pronouns does nothing to enhance immersion, and rather only risks detracting from it.

Not a bad thing, but a daunting task. Often times, daunting tasks that require that level of magnitude are often thankless or barely glossed over as the next big thing gets requested.

That’s a red herring.

You’re immersion is different than mine. How would adding pronouns to prompts only the player see’s detract from your immersion? and even if you could see them how would you know that they contradict the player they are targeted at?

simply put, it’s a game, and a fantasy one at that. Adding pronouns will only affect you if you let it, and if you let it… Probably time to get some counseling.

why is it daunting? it’s simply some words that certain players prefer. it’s a simple coding thing that has nothing to do with any player that isn’t choosing their pronouns.

So, disagreeing with someone in the trans community is transphobia? Alllllrighty then!

I don’t know you, but thank you for being a sound of reasonableness in a cacophony of needless chaos.

If they get their way so will not addressing them as their preferred pronoun and people will eat bans over it.

That’s the goal

I could be wrong, how it seemed to me when I read the article, it read as that these are being added into all aspects of retail, not just the tooltip. From every quest in each zone to spoken dialogue - that is going through every minor detail to ensure that matching segments align correctly and are displayed properly from client to user end, that is going through hundreds, thousands and possibly millions of lines of code per zone, honestly, it does not seem or say simple coding.
