You seem to have missed the fact that he was being empowered by the Valkry at the time and was still losing the fight. Remember that Malfurion and us were beating upon one Valkry during that fight for a good two minutes and it’s health hardly moved? Only to have Tryande just turn and instant kill it with a single spell.
Now I don’t think they will allow us to kill Sylvanas. But then I didn’t think they would kill off Varian or Saurfang either and yet they did, without even missing a step.

Cata should of passed the torch. Most of WC3 was wrapped up after Wrath, and most of the characters could of been retired there. The few that remained could of played an Obi-wan type role.
I like the WC3 characters, but not only are they getting destroyed by the new writing, but they are also getting in the way of the characters that should be expanded upon.

I think Sylvanas will die, but I also think your right that we won’t be the ones to kill her… something else will get her the new big bad or so

She’ll probably going to get a lightforge treatment, or at best turned into some tentacle monster thing by the old gods like Azshara and Ashvane for dealing with them.
You’re talking about people that watch this same kind of crap happening in real life and at best are offended that they had to see it and ruin their day. At worst are totally indifferent or maybe even supportive to it.
Why do people pretend to be shocked that there would be those who support Sylvanas in a video game when there are people that support worse in real life?
Why do people still think Sylvanas is one of “their favorites” when this entire story has been dog crap from the moment BFA kicked off? If that’s how Blizzard treats one of their favorite characters I’m curious to see how they treat someone they hate.
People that defended Sylvanas are struggling to find reasons to come up with excuses for her actions. People that attack her are given ample ammunition to justify their hate but no payoff. Literally nobody is winning here.

i like her character for what it is. i spent since the beginning of wow in lawful good dwarf paladin goody two shoes territory. time to watch the world burn.

Varian’s death was long overdue and totally obvious for certain character story arcs to continue. I thought he was gonna die in the legion cinematic but no it was like an hour later in the broken shore instead.
Sourfang has been whining about wanting to die nonstop for as long as he’s been relevant to the story.

lol. Sourfang has basically been begging for someone to kill him since mid-way through LK. What is surprising is that he lasted long enough to be such a big part of this horrible story arc, not that he died, he should have died a long time ago.
I don’t think there is ANYONE worse than Sylvanas IRL today and not in my lifetime. The closest on a large scale would have been in the middle of the last century, but some are trying to get there today.
If you have examples that are not hyperbole, by all means share.

There have been more genociders - in both deed and definition - in contemporary history that the mods would possibly allow in this thread.
And, to be fair, it is a pretty inappropriate topic for comparison; but let me remind you that you are sitting in front of a computer at this moment, (or holding one in your hand). So… half the battle and all that.
But Sylvanas’ actions are right in line with any number of subcontinental conflicts and the war crimes committed on their soil.
Part of what makes it so horrible is the lack of fantasy elements. Anyone who knows even a passing amount about mass killings approaching genocide during pre-existing conflicts might recognize the core elements by their similarities to real life.
Perhaps it is accidental, but no less horrific, to find those parallels reconstructed with elves and trees standing in for rural valleys, isolated jungle townships, Balkan border towns and arid mountainside refuges.
Maybe don’t ask to have those wretched tales recounted for you though. The info is out there. You can find it on your own.
Its a shame the writers didn’t have the sensibilities to strike a more responsible note.
People talk about using their powers for good, but then when they have the opportunity, they just squander it for some tawdry return in the moment.

umm, I actually spent an entire semester studying mass murders and evil at college when I needed a few spare credits to finish. In was under the school of criminal justice so it wasn’t an ethical thing; it was just pure numbers.
Only one over 1 million people in the last 50 or so years.
3 since 2000, 1 of which was appox 50K and the other 2 are still on going but “only” around 10K.
Now if you wanna go back 80 or so years, yeah its a LOT worse. 1 year of old school Communism could wipte out everything you could name today.
In the grand scheme of things, today is rather tame by histories standards.

Sylvanas will be with us till the servers close down. There is no escape. She will join Bwonsamdi in congratulating you every time you have a stupid death and find yourself at the spirit healer only to be greeted with her derision. Perhaps Nathanos will join her as well. That would be funny.
She’ll return to lead the fight against Illidan when he returns as the Lord of Legion.
