They won't let us kill Sylvanas

Just throwing that out here.

People think it’s obvious that we will kill Sylvanas, but I highly doubt that the writers are going to let their favorites die at this point.

We saw that in 8.1 where they put Nathanos (an undead archer) on the same power level of Tyrande (a High priestess that could take out whole armies with a single spell even before she was empowered by a godess). All that just because Nathanos is one of the writers’ favorites. They wouldn’t even let Nathanos die and then sacrifice a val’kyr to ressurect him because that might’ve put a scar on his beautiful face, right?

And in case you haven’t noticed, literally everything in Battle for Azeroth has been according to Sylvanas’ plan. The Genocide, The Battle for Undercity, the alliance attacking Dazar’alor, her deal with Azshara, the horde rebellion and more.
Also, didn’t a dev literally say that Sylvanas won’t die?

That leaves us with the most likely outcome of some really really stupid redemption Story and Sylvanas doing evil things since vanilla because she has that plan since her birth and it’s all for the greater good. They also wouldn’t have put that much effort into the choices on the horde’s war campaign if they are just going to let Sylvanas die at one point as a villain.

So, what are your bets on how they will deny us the kill on that villain and make her an Illidan 2.0 in the most unsatisfying way possible?

She’ll become the Lich Queen. It’s been her destiny all along.

For the Alliance, I’m going to say that Anduin forgives her because he doesn’t want the Horde and Alliance to be tied to their past (as per his little chat with Saurfang in the in-game cinematic).

For the Horde, I’m saying Baine pulls another Camp T and starts exiling everyone who wants to fight her to preserve the peace.

Leave it blizzard to think Sylvanas is redeemable but Tyrande wanting vengeance is ‘going too far’.

Yeaaahhh don’t get your hopes up, I doubt blizz will alienate their fanbase by killing her off.

Pretty sure Sylvanas fans are the most numerous.

There’s at least one writer who will lobby against it.

u sure about that? I mean they largely alienated their night elf fans with the garbage they’ve been pulling.

They redeemed Kerrigan in SC2 and shes killed millions and committed way more dodgy stuff than Sylvanas.

They were gonna kill her and everyone complained it was Mists 2.0, are you now complaining that they wont let you?

These forums man lol

hence I said leave it to Blizzard to think mass murdering psychopaths are redeemable but those who want to punish them are ‘too consumed with vengeance’.

I don’t think we will ever kill her…

I have a horrible feeling she will go to sacrifice herself for us somehow and Anduin lightforged her or something horrible and she will be some light ghost forsaken ruler and give forsaken a more non-skeletal glowing humanoid option as customization.

Alliance characters aren’t allowed to show negative emotions. It’s in their contract.

the ‘Anduin’s Widdle Bones Hurt’ clause iirc.

Honestly in the end anything could happen, but I reckon her popularity with the fanbase is what will keep her alive for now.

you can’t just do a MoP 2.0 up until the point where we are supposed to kill the villain and then deny us the kill…

Well they also killed off Arthas which was one of the most badass and liked characters ever. The problem is that Sylvanas is the writers’ favorites and they rather write a story they like instead of one that makes sense and will please people.

Well of course silly! They play Horde so of course Tyrande being bothered by genocide is well, not important to them. They have more important things to do like how to keep Sylvanas in the game without alienating more players than they already have lol.

let them suffer then they can disappear into classic where she’s alive and well, and ironically using a night elf model.

They’ll just continue to write her and every other character into oblivion.

Joking aside it does bring up an interesting story arc, possibly too interesting for blizzard to legitimately pursue: Anduin the Light Tyrant. huffing so much glowing naaru farts turns him into a dictatorial fascist who will ‘cleanse’ negative thoughts with ‘purifying light’ akin the lightforged ritual but involuntarily.

Right before we kill Sylvanas, Sylvanas will appear to kill Sylvanas in a cutscene, and then Sylvanas will escape to Northrend to revive Sylvanas so that they can rule the Sylvanas.
