They should phase the boosters to prevent harassment

Lot of salty folks saying they want to harass, camp, and ignore your paying boost customers. That’s bad for boost business. However, if you phase them through the new demo, that gives them a chance to get mail and equip some quest greens, so the whiners and haters will never know who is boosted and who isn’t. You should do that to protect your paying customers, and so that these entitled communists who think the game should be free and not monetized can go howl with rage and pound sand.

You’re welcome, Blizz. You’re welcome. My idea just made you more money as shy people who fear being ostracized for boosting can now purchase a boost with confidence. That or ban the people harassing the boosters. Both work.

Nah, no need. These people aren’t smart enough to figure out it takes less than an hour to change gear to the point they cannot tell. Unless you scream in general chat you’re a booster no one will ever know and the people on here who are gonna “camp boosters” are the VAST minority. Boosta away in saftey brother

PS: Lotta people also gonna gank anti booster people strictly in retaliation, all I see is more wpvp, win win

Or have a set of “alt gear” ready to go from the start.

This, I got my lv 1-300 mats already setup for my boost crafting main. I would wager people got a bunch of BOE stuff better than greens ready to go. More importantly, unless you’re a tank where gear MAY be an issue, odds are you’ll be fine to do ramaprts anyways and get those massive upgrade blues at the start and bingo, already on par.

They can just boost on a PvE realm. Besides, anything bad for boost business is good for the game.

The boosted characters couldn’t successfully gank a squirrel.

Dunno if you are aware, but the Ramparts gear is nowhere near on par with vanilla raid gear.

Ahh yes, cause they wouldn’t just use their mains that apparently no booster could ever have

Ahh yes, all the boosters doing ZG instead of going to outlands! Makes total sense!

Why boost a character only to then play your main anyway? Unless it’s a profession alt or something, in which case the threat of being ganked is not really a concern to you.

??? What are you even talking about?

They have an ignore button for a reason. If someone wants to make fun of me for boosting a rogue that I’ve played multiple time and made multiple twinks of…then I say bring it. If I don’t get invited to groups at start like BF and HFC well I will just quest some more get some gear to get rid of boost greens.

Also I don’t think it will be that bad. Wow forums are generally the toxic players who come here to complain. They represent like 2% of the wow population. People in game don’t care. It’s been a known fact for years to avoid wow general forums.

So I’m not worried. I do play on a care bear server so I don’t have to worry about pvp. I feel sorry for anyone boosting on pvp server. Or even just leveling belf or goat. Pvpers take advantage of under geared people all the time. Thats nothing new. Goats and belf will go through dark portal with poor gear as well.

I want another alt

Why is raid gear from Classic relevant to people boosting 58s to get to outlands?

You’re right on that last part. I am on a pvp server and know full well how it’s gonna be. I for one welcome it. The crazy pvp of the inital dark portal opening was a highlight of tbc. Pure chaos.

You said they could do some dungeons and be on par. I’m saying it isn’t on par.

They’re going to replace their gear with Outlands gear pretty quickly on top of the fact that most of the people threatening it to camp them are going to forget all about it 2 seconds after going through the dark portal.

Most people are simply not going to care about boosted characters.

I just got a quest green staff from a fetch quest that has 80 spell power on it. For reference, my AQ40 staff has 76 spell power.

I meant on par as to disguise the fact they boosted as some people are using the fact they start in greens as a way to tell. Sorry for the confusion.

Lots? I saw one thread. And it was clearly a troll. (A successful troll, to be sure.)

Far as I know, only naxx gear holds value all the way through Outlands. GM/HW weapons would be the next. I however did not lv outlands in raid gear when I first played xD

Correct. The people suggesting that boosted characters get camped as a means to discourage boosted are very silly.

The issue we should have is with the service itself, and Blizzard for providing it. You can’t really blame anyone for using the boost that is provided.

I assume you’re using the Acolyte Staff, which also has 16 hit rating, 16 crit rating, and 33 Intellect.

Does your green staff have that?

Fair enough.

AQ40 gear definitely holds value the whole way. However, as you might expect, not every piece is equally as good.

Amulet of the Fallen God.
Grasp of the Old God.
Scarab Brooch.
Badge of the Swarmguard.
Ring of the Fallen God.
Neltharion’s Tear.
Thunderfury.

I could name a lot of items before Naxx that aren’t replaced until heroic dungeons or crafted epics.

If i recall, some trinkets are viable basically into BT. It’s been a long time since i thought about BC though haha.

Scarab Brooch is probably the best trinket for direct healers (not Druids) until Cataclysm. Blue Dragon is the best Mp5 trinket depending on your cast speed and other stats.

Anything with percentage based procs and effects scale and are therefore always useful. That’s why Blizzard usually nerfs them after a certain level.

No, and my AQ40 staff is enchanted, which I wouldn’t do to a green. Even so, if you’re a caster doing GDKP for a weapon at this point, just stop. You don’t need the hit to level, and the 1000-1500 gold you will save will come in handy.
