I don’t want to get up and drive to Sacramento.
I have a phobia of driving. I do it anyhow but stress.

I’m set to be in the hot seat for this year’s round of “debate a person’s life choices and make fun of their friends right in front of them!”
This will be a fun evening.
Drive safe! I know how messy it can be driving around California sometimes, having used to live there.
Family… really does suck, sometimes. Best of luck.
I got roped at the last minute into holiday dinner with my roommate’s family. Who are all strangers to me, so this’ll be even worse than my own family’s holiday dinners. And I was so looking forward to a quiet evening alone…
Today I feast on leg of lamb. Turkey is for scrubs.
But mostly I just really like lamb.
Remember that saying no is always an option. Next time tell them you have plans for the quiet evening you were looking forward to and don’t let them guilt you into going.
Yeah well this is what roomie wanted instead of money after I accidentally threw away a lot of Thanksgiving food which for some reason she had set in recyclable bags right by the trash which it’s my job to take out.
It’s complicated. I’m mostly going because I didn’t realize she actually wanted me there; I thought the invitation was just a courtesy. But if it’s important enough to be the recompense demanded for that kerfuffle, then regardless of what’s owed I’m inclined to oblige. There are few people whose feelings matter enough to me that I’d put myself out for them but my roommate is one.
happy day
Traffic only added an hour onto the commute.
The highways were a parking lot several times. I wound up turning on Pokemon Go to get steps while inching along at 3mph.
That sounds about right. I’m glad we don’t get that much traffic here - I had to drive 60 miles a day for work before. Worst I ever -really- had to deal with was idiots, or the weather.
Snow, ice, the local towns not bothering to take care of the interstate. Fun times when it’s pitch black and you can’t see the road because it’s midnight. Not much better during the day, really xD
Glad you made it safe!
I gave my niece my phone on a selfie stick and set it to record video and now I have a short video of the world threw the eyes of a three year old. Unfortunately the selfie stick prevented audio from recording
There’s been virtually no traffic in Portland!
I got to drive home in the dark, in the rain, in a borrowed car, through streets I don’t yet know well, after not having been behind the wheel for four months. It’s a damn good thing there was so little traffic. Thank god for smartphones and Google maps; if this was ten years ago I’d still be lost.
I’m pretty sure that’s amongst my worst nightmares. Glad you got home safe!
I spent all day at AT&T Stadium, working- away from my family.
Was pretty nice.
Did you go get your leftovers on after while dodging the awk of extended family?
My extended family is in Washington State and the Chicago, IL area. I had the misfortune of meeting the Chicago ones at my grandma’s funeral. So much dead naming.
This is a long-@$$ thread, but this is by far the best post here.
It gets even better! I can unleash my army of dinosaurs at any time! Of course, most of them are just wandering about in the wilds of the more dinosaur-controlled places of Azeroth, but eh, details!
(But yes, I love dinosaurs …and since discovering there’s a t-rex emoji I’ve been quite happy with it! Hmmm …maybe I should build a signature around it…)
Edit --> Nevermind, that ‘walk the dinosaur’ video may not be considered ‘family friendly’. Boo. Sorry.
For those curious, it’s because it had probably-attractive women wearing somewhat revealing cavemen outfits and dancing.
Yeah, that sounds about right. Meanwhile breaking an Orc’s neck with a whispered spell isn’t so bad. Ratings are weird like that.
Ummmm, what video is this?
