The fact of the matter here is that this is an exploit. Everyone complains about bots, hackers, and exploiters but when it affects them they suddenly put their hands up and claim :“No ChAnGeZ” or “WoRkInG aS iNtEnDeD”. It sickens me how these people don’t want the changes that will improve the health of the game. RIP.
Have they? So people have been playing and studying patch 1.12 for 15 years now? I mean, you can try to include private servers in that number if you like but they were very far off in how the game actually worked. Sometimes for the better, too!
This is a big thing. You can just casually Google “how to farm gold on rogue classic” and find dozens of videos showing a variety of methods, all with their own angle, time, recommended talents/gear/etc, and all the other fixings to set up even the most green player.
15yrs ago we were left with cryptic and terrible comments left on Thottbot or wild claims on the forums that no one ever believed. This stuff has been done to death with clean recordings to substantiate it all.

Nope, 15 years ago there were a ton of good sites dedicated to studying and telling people how the game worked. Most of the specs we have today are the same ones people were using 15 years ago.

Yup. Seriously, even the “good” sites like EJ and the various dated personal blog sites of various levelers and grinders were more guess work than anything concrete, and they weren’t tailored guides with video instructions but rather wall-o-text with glaring color schemes.
No explination is good enough for you. I have walked you through why it’s exploitation and why it’s bad for the game but you just aren’t having it. It’s like talking to a brick wall. That and mocking is what trolls do – which is what you’ve been doing since the start of the thread.
Are you sure? I bet he’s realized it’s illogical to remove something 2 expansions early in an environment that doesn’t have the same movement options as that expansion.

Some have, yes. Not 1.12, but years of playing various expansions have taught people to effectively use macros, exploit LoS, stay out of the fire, and just generally min/max the game in every way you can imagine.
Yes, players on average are better than they were 15 years ago. They absolutely are. No doubt about it.
