Hoping we can get a blue post here to explain the logic. Neither of the specs were doing crazed numbers comparatively to other classes/specs. MM especially does not feel good atm. Even gaining another capstone at 70, with the loss of covenant abilities, will not make up for the loss in damage
BM needed the rotation change. It should have come with buffs to offset the loss.
The MM nerf is just stupid. Bottom tier spec going even lower while everyone else on the bottom goes up and it was probably out of PvP concerns.
@Hightin, they did the same thing in pre-patch SL (probably pre-patch BfA too). It’s like they have no idea how the spec works, so when they’re in dev they just juice Aimed Shot more, and more, and more, and more. The entire kit design is warped in on itself, nothing but a huge feedback loop on AiS. And then people get wrecked by Double Tap/Camo in PvP and the Live team, which is different from the Dev team, nerfs it into the ground, which guts the entire spec, because everything we do orbits AiS.
Ions Dev team doesn’t communicate with the Live team, let alone actual players, and they never, EVER learn.
They had a chance to fix this, to actually build interesting talents and mechanics, but instead they tied everything to a single ability and the spec lives or dies based on that ability. Then people get one shot in PvP, that one ability gets nerfed into the ground, and the spec is dead.
I’m so glad they spent all of their dev time shuffling the same garbage talents around instead of actually doing, well, anything.
MM is actually dogwater since the prepatch. Clunkmaster rotation and incredibly lackluster damage.
The tier set was too good, now we’re back to starving on focus and casting steady shot. Gross.
I’m disappointed in the nerf to war order. 100% on KC made the build fun with 30% dire beast when using KC. KC doesn’t even do that much dmg rofl. We have no burst compared to other classes. Sustained dmg is moderate at best. Leave it to Blizzard to take the fun out of BM.
Problem is BM AoE potential already bad. This change makes it relatively worse. It’s really bad.
MM hasn’t been fun since Legion to be honest. Not sure what they’re trying to do with it. But the current nerf is flat out stupid.
Survival, I know is not popular but I quite enjoy it. It does need an a buff as we, it’s just flat out feeling wrong.
To be fair I haven’t played it myself but from what I’ve read it just makes it way worse to play and I can see why. Why was this rotation change needed?
actually the 1st few days i hated the new bm playstyle. but now i am loving it. its a pure barbed shot and kc spam. if you add in aoe its a pure multishot, kc and barbed shot spam. cobra shot took a back seat.
Because it was down to 2 button spam dropping one of the core rotational buttons (CS) and was pure degenerate gameplay that was reported multiple times through beta as being unrealistic to stay into DF.
The only issue is that it did have some time to go live, but got adjusted quickly after that.
Why do you seem to defend most of their changes no matter what.
Also we only used cobrashot part of roation to spend extra focus. Why would we press it with kc now im rarely finding a reason to oress it and that is how it should be. Tuning mainly should be done after once DF Launches or you end up in the same scenario like last prepatch where bm was nerfed than unnerfed half way through the expansion because we took advantage of the greater power systems THEY PUT IN PLACE
I haven’t played any higher content but in pvp we get 2 tap and stomp by any melee. BM, or MM.
It’s bad and we hit like a wet noodle to follow.
This isn’t tuning, this is fixing a degen rotation.
Because i personally suggested nerfing Qapla to 25/50% in beta feedback previously (granted i wanted the resets to also have dmg buff attached to the next KC to offset the damage)
Hunter wasn’t fun during SL. Not a fan of all of these changes or the playstyles that are currently in-game. This may be the first expansion where I don’t main my hunter. It’s sad, as I started playing the hunter class during classic.
the BM play-style is virtually the same as it was in BFA and main diff from end of legion is lack of Titan’s Thunder (granted that was actually fairly fun) + barbed shot instead of dire beast (fairly similar if u were playing dire frenzy)
But yea, MM and SV did take a decently sized L compared to legion
Yup. They introduced doubletap and hunters were one shotting people all over darkshore. Bam, nerf Aimed Shot. This will be the third straight prepatch that Aimed Shot got smacked after doubletap became a thing.
This may be the first xpac I don’t play period and I’ve been playing for 14 years. Thanks Blizz for not listening.
How so?
It was very fun before the change. I’d rather a numbers nerf if we really needed it.
A spec with unlimited mobility and no cast times needs to be fast-paced to make it fun to play, and that’s what pre-nerf War Orders did for BM.
MM was just insult to injury.
Degen rotation? that rotation with filler was bland and boring for the lackluster damage it gave. atleast with how it was we were always doing something not praying that maybe we get a free KC Cobra shot is only used to spend extra focus and does nothing worth while core damage wise. If your meters show cobra shot as your #1 damage then obviously you are doing something seriously wrong rather be spedning focus on KC at this point over cobra shot. also tell me why we cant have a degen rotations when survival and warlocks in general got all the bs Tiers sets last season that cause their **** to be fun BM gets boring **** atleast this made everything fun
Pressing 2 buttons is degen.
Using cobra shot doesn’t slow down rotation.
Idk what is this even about
SV should’ve been nerfed more in m+ but all the m+ influencers whined too hard.
I don’t think warlocks even with tier became a 2 button simulator.
I played BM all through BFA and I enjoyed it. Coming into S2 of SL it just felt weaker. I think it may be because everyone else started getting burstier and BM was just left behind.
