Absolutely hate the rotation changes this nerf enforces. nerf the numbers not the fun
Please revert the change to Burden of power double dipping, itâs a fun mechanic. change the tuning donât nerf the fun
Please, Nerf Sunfury Arcane without removing double dipping.
-âConjuring a spell fire sphere increases the damage of your next arcane blast by 30% or arcane barrage by %15%â
-Put double dipping back
-Keep phoenix and soul nerfs
This is where they will settle. These insane nerfs are an obvious over correction. If not, arcane, the most fun it has ever been, is DOA.
I think so, Blizzard are killing rotation arcane mage, please wtf? changes about double dipping, you can see?
No, gameplay wide changes should be addressed at the spec level.
If you make Sunfury have more barrage casts than Spellslinger, nobody will ever want to play Spellslinger, because the fact is spamming Arcane Blast is boring.
If only Sunfury gets a nice varied rotation, Spellslinger will always be a dead hero talent tree.
So increase Arcaneâs base clearcasting, make Arcane Blast a 1.5 second cast regardless of charge, and halve the cd of arcane orb.
The put clearcasting back on Splinterstorm and make Arcane Barrage on Spellslinger refund 2 charges to bring it up to par in amount of arcane barrage casts with Sunfury.
The fact is, Sunfury is a whopping 300k DPS ahead of Spellslinger, and even with these nerfs the gap remains huge.
Iâve only played frostfire frost so far. I completely agree though that they shouldnât touch the gameplay if itâs fun and engaging.
I think in MoP it was, they didnât intend for destro locks to be able to cast incinerate while moving? (I think it was MoP). Anyways in the spirit of fun blizzard kept it in and allowed it instead of making a change. Same rule should apply here! Make a change elsewhere or take some damage off. We all play this game for FUN and that should be the priority.
Didnât they just make a similar mistake a few weeks ago? Just wtf are they smoking?
Thatâs not enough to nerf the damage not a lot actually comes from burden of power. They should still allow double dipping.
A nerf that would bring us more in line with everyone else is:
- Mana Cascade Haste increase reduced by 0.5% per stack for Arcane
- Spell Sphere spell damage increase reduced by 1% per stack for Arcane
- Lingering Embers spell damage increase reduced by 1% per stack for Arcane
- Burden of Power increase to Arcane Blast reduced by 15%
- Burden of Power increase to Arcane Barrage reduced by 15%
- Arcane Phoenix damage dealt reduced by 20% for Arcane.
- Meteorite damage dealt reduced by 20% for Arcane
That should bring SF down almost exactly 1.5M DPS in single target while not effecting the rotation and not effecting spellslinger damage as well. If you want more of a nerf than this just reduce these values more or look at Arcane Bombardment/Savor the Moment.
Note if you buff Spellslinger by
- Arcane Splinter damage increased by 30%
- Splinter Storm damage increased by 20% for Arcane
it bring Spellslinger to 1.48M so its more inline with Sunfurry. You then just do flat spec damage decrease to get the DPS to what ever value you want it to be at internally.
They should just take out Rondurmancy, the 5 spheres are an eyesore when Kaelâthas was about his 3 spheres. It would also reduce SFâs throughput specifically.
In fact, just replace these ugly orbs with Feloâmelornâs artifact revolving orbs or give a glyph to replace them.
I cannot emphasize how awful these spellfire orbs look compared to the Feloâmelorn orbs, theyâre not even anchored properly to the character, they float slightly behind the character model and often clash with the shoulder and helm pieces on top of clippling our shield bubble vfx.
Kind of thought we were at a point where everything was numbers tuning, and they werenât going to change fundamental mechanics to the rotation.
Just undo all of the changes today and do like a 10% aura nerf or something.
Just do a % nerf, revert the double dipping change. Please!
This is destroying the work of so many people and the fun o some others.
Thanks!
Joining in to add to the number of the mages that are annoyed by this change.
that nerfs spellslinger too which is why i suggest what I have. Nerfs SF without nerfing spellslinger.
It really isnât hard considering SF has 2 talent that just give baseline dmg buff to everything we do and a pet dmg completely separate from our rotation.
Removing the potential for a skill ceiling, the class has to be as simple as possible so every single Arcane Mage is playing the same and we donât get the chance to excel if weâre good at ours class because that would be too OP, and tuning numbers would affect lower-skill players as well, whereas this only works to bring those of us putting in effort down to the bottom of middle of DPS rankings again. This sucks. There wasnât even a need for that big a fix. This overcorrection is uncalled for and hopefully itâs not too late for them to admit their mistake.
Do these idiot designers actually play games? Why do they have to destroy an existing game style that everyone is happy with? To be honest, after watching their Diablo 4 live, I felt that Blizzard was in complete chaos. These so-called âdesignersâ had no idea what they were doing and what the players wanted. This change is almost malicious! Remember? They had tried to make the same change not too long ago! But Blizzard eventually canceled the changes amid player outrage, but why is it coming back now? This is simply a provocation to players!
The community manager needs to come out and explain this! If the first time was accidental, the second time was deliberate. Do you really care about the opinions of players? If your promises have been invalidated in just one month, do we still have any reason to trust you?
People will play whatever does the most damage. Spellslinger currently has more barrage casts than Sunfury, but everyone plays Sunfury. Why? Numbers.
I agree. Sunfury Arcane needs a nerf but please donât change the fun rotation. Donât kill the double dip, adjust numbers!
Blizzard, have we learned nothing from the reverted Nether Precision double dipping change during the beta? I donât even care that you want to nerf arcane, stop messing with Arcaneâs amazing rotational gameplay and just do numbers tuning.
