I saw those logs and I looked and those 12ks were people 4 healing that fight (normally take 5 healers) and probably stacking near or on-top of each other because most Disc Priests are only doing like 7-8k hps on that fight normally if you have 5 healers.
Mine had 5, and I did 9.8k. Very broken yeah.

Yeah, looks good. You can parse that high if other healers are slacking.
Iâm usually pulling around 6-6.5k on that fight, but thatâs with double Disc roaming around. The H Priest parsing 8k+ are 4 healing it.
Itâs easy to play logs though. My guild healers basically help each other to get purple and orange logs on fights.
On Hungering, Disc is the one who steal HPS, the damage goes through SS first.
Doesnât matter if other healers are slacking, because if a disc player plays perfectly, there is almost nothing to heal after SS.
If you have only one SS you can only cover one mechanic a minute so the other healers would be normally rotating healing cooldowns inbetween. Iâm usually asked to pop Salvation on one of the Consumes and Hymn during a few of the Desolates. The healers I play with are way better than the ones I played with in my old guild so itâs hard to see the parity difference unless you change around.
Good resto druids in particular with full raid hot coverage (add in dreamweaver overheal absorb shield as well) can really eat into your overall hps, especially on DoT aura heavy fights.
Disc do nothing between SS anywayâŚmaybe a bit of atonement healing. Still even that Disc can do 10k+ hps with 220 gear even if other healers are playing as best as they can, because Disc is the one stealing their hps.
Thatâs not really the case if your other healers arenât sleeping the entire fight. If you want to pad logs big pp style than four heal it as Disc and do 12k+ easily if you kill it in 4-5 mins. At least get it in before the nerfs. lol
Disc canât pad log much. yeah if the fight goes down fast, Disc is gonna look good.
But they canât pad log by having other healers afk. They can barely do anything after SS. More Shadowmend isnât gonna pad log that much.
I mean, the guy this forum most often says âdoesnât play the specâ who wrote the wowhead guide is literally the top holy priest on raider io right now.
I think people need to realize that wowhead guides and most initial guides are written with incomplete information, and they donât get updated until theyâre called to be updated - something that just generally doesnât happen until major patches. The initial guides/discussion for several expansions have turned out VERY wrong for a few classes because Blizzard will do stuff like they did this time - Flash Concentration was a buff that was removed the first time you used heal. It was a pretty worthless legendary till about the last two weeks of beta where it changed with NO notes - so nobody knew if it was bugged or not. Echo of Eonar on the other hand was giving you a healing buff and your DPS a DPS buff - it was a great support legendary. Then after live launched suddenly it didnât do that at all anymore and again, nobody knew if it was bugged, etc.
Hey if you donât mind me asking, how much DPS do you general pump out in high M+ keys?
Overall dps is around 800-1300 dps depending on how much healing I have to do on the tank and if I forget to keep refreshing SWPs. On Tyrannical weeks I can do more because the trash hits like noodles.
Do you not worry about Holy Fire too much? Just SW:P and Smite (and Divine Star)?
It depends on whatâs going on. If the tank is being smacked hard then I focus on just keeping SWP up and refreshing it and using Divine Star.
If thereâs not much damage going out then I throw out Holy Fires, Chastise, Smites, and/or Holy Nova.
At least 50-60% of my damage comes just from SWP though because it does tick quite hard and itâs the easiest thing to manage if 90% of your attention is on healing people.
Very helpful. Thank you
Go raid with a shaman and druid healer then come back and tell me holy is good. Must be fkin amazing being able to do 25-35% of your healing with a single active ability.
Convoke?
Holy will be good in 9.0.5. Just a bit of waiting there.
If there is a lot of rot fights with not much burst healing you might find more holy and less disc since SS wont be as useful
I am not sure about this build. I tried it and WOW it was horrible for me. Just keeping the stacks up was not fun. My Shadowmend heals for relatively the same and I donât have to work so hard. I am sure I must have been doing something wrong, but honestly it did not feel right. I will keep practicing.
you also have echo of light rolling. so on grievous thats helpful and if your smiting during down time to get surges then you can just dump one on the tank to keep it up. Reminds me of the old chakra play a bit where you need to maintain things
Shadowmend is way more mana expensive than heal tho. And ToL talent lets you cleave healing with it.
Also remember holyâs mastery.
