Im a little confused, do people Only play one class and spec or something?
I have 32 characters I play, and I learn every spec in every class, 1 class/race combo for every class on Alliance and 1 for every Horde.
It just seems crazy to me that there is players out there that have Never played a healer or tank, when I am a casual player and have leveled up every class twice.
When I come across new tanks, I just tell them the mechanics they need to watch out for and see of they are or are not using certain abilities during a fight as the healer im targeting them.
See a newbie Bear not using ironfur or a newbie DH not using spikes ect and let them know in a Non Hostile and Judgemental Insulting Manner. I capitalized that because thats the issue I seen from people, spewing hate at a new player and think they are being helpful, ie "Are you F stupid? Use Iron fur idiot!’
That negativity turns people off of even trying to play the tank spec of a class, thats the kind of person OP sounds like in their post.
As to people posting about Bait post, Its important that the community collectively come to gether to let people know this isn’t acceptable behavior, 16 likes to the OP, 200 likes to the comment below it calling them out as the bad player.
The truth of the matter is that if the elite left, the rest of us could probably get by playing the game but if everyone BUT the elite left, you guys would never be able to pay the bills and keep the game going.
You are here because and only because we are here.
How do you figure? Do you seriously think open-worlders and non-“elites” pays the bills?
Who do you think buys the tokens to supply raids and M+? Not to mention the sheer amount of players who actually run M+ and raids. We are not a tiny fraction of the playerbase.
If the current elite left, the new high end players would just replace them in your eyes and you’d still war on them.
Instead of recognizing that what you mean by “elite” is just players who play more and enjoy the game at all levels of play, including higher than what you do.
Everytime you group in queue’d content, you’re likely to run into someone with 2.5k io on another toon, or a player with AotC or CE.
They’re amongst you all the time, enjoying the same content you do, seeing the game from the same perspective you do, but also with an eye at a different perspective.
You choose to limit yourself to some penance of content and refuse to approach the rest, we play all content and don’t mind stepping up when needed.
Yes I do. I’ve heard that 15% or less of the players have ever killed more than two Raid bosses. If that’s true then the elite is a rather small percentage of their subscription income.
Also we all buy things. Even casual players buy things. Personally I’ve bought tokens and I’ve used money from tokens to buy gold which I’ve used for many things. I’m sure other casual players have as well.
And then there are the PvP people and the profession people, all of whom spend money on the game.
My personal belief is that the super raid and Mythic +players only pay a small share of the total income and wouldn’t be able to support the game without the rest of us.
Well it would depend. If the new people who because the new elite were causing the problems that started this thread then yes, we would be looking at them. However right now they are not so it’s unlikely that they would.
This thread was started because someone who’s used to doing leveling dungeons got irritated at someone who isn’t.
No one “elite” had to be involved. Most casuals who dungeon grind to cap on multiple alts can do pretty much every dungeon with their eyes closed at this point, even if they’ve never touched a single end game activity or gotten a single purple in their life.
You’d just have a bunch of people who struggle with the game, probably not enough to sustain the servers and pay the bills and WoW would end right there.
Like 90% of capable of running a dungeon during leveling and won’t tolerate someone disrupting a dungeon to the point described by the OP.
If people didn’t care about fast leveling, there wouldn’t have been such an outcry when Winds of Wisdom was removed.
Play a tank, tank them yourself. Or stay out of group content if you don’t have the patience for people learning. Community toxicity is why tanks stay the heck out of pugs as it is.
Then how about instead of being a Karen and going Newbies shouldn’t be allowed to tank Mr I do every level of play , you get with these new tanks and teach them to be better tanks .
Don’t be dense. It’s common knowledge that in all of those scenarios finding a tank and healer takes much longer than finding another DPS. Both of those roles takes a heap of abuse and negativity from the WoW playerbase. You never hear “Blame the DPS”
It’s a common GD trope, but it’s completely untrue in game. There are plenty of pug tanks, they run pug groups at every level, and no one gives them any real crap like GD likes to pretend.
How do I know ? I’ve pugged tank a lot myself, and pug all the time as dps too.
I’ve seen more tanks go off on DPS than DPS go off on tanks.
I simply do not believe the GD tropes. Sorry, never have.
Isn’t leveling and learning to do dungeons as ley level the way they become better tanks?
People would learn how to if jerks with elitist attitudes actually stopped and went " Hey tank I see you are new to this can I give you some pointers to help you out"
Mostly all new tanks see now is “This person sucks he should already know how to tank this dungeon since this is a level 30 -40 dungeon and they are barely level 30”
“How dare they not know what they are doing the first time in this dungeon”
