Thats like the main reason people do the same 8 dungeons every day for months
This weeks Affix is terrible. Some bosses you can’t get to orbs due to one shot mechanics. So, then the boss gets a couple orbs and then the group wipes. So you have to decide, get orb and die and save group or dont die by getting orb and group wipes. That is a terrible mechanic. ZERO fun.
It’s just stupid at this point. Unless they make the obvious changes (remove death affix, put myth track on 9) I won’t be playing M+ much longer.

I love content. I took a fairly big break due to real life taking over for a while on getting ready to move, working multiple jobs to save extra and just focus on other things.
I have a history of a lot of KSM, KSH, cutting edge for raiding and just generally pushing high where I can.
I came back and researched the dungeons, fights, what to do and let me tell you pugging has been a NIGHTMARE. People have comments of making sure people already have 2k minimum io currently, flawless logs, and lots of runs in the dungeons already.
This is going to make the community die out even more because it’s turning into the PVP community mentality of if you didn’t already do this you can’t even prove yourself to get into a group. And with that, their community is already tiny. I’ve done pvp on and off and honestly any time I run everyone already knows each other for the most part and it was insanely stale.
There has to be some better way to have this system because it’s cutting itself off.
Yes I know the age old “Make your own group” and “join a guild” lines. But I can confidently say if you are jumping into the season right now with nothing on your io or score, you will most likely sit there for ages as well and not everyone has hours to sit just to wait for people to join. On the other side, I’m honestly not seeing that might recruiting for guilds or groups trying to push keys either for anyone trying to get into the season unless again, you have KSM, KSH, and other major achieves already.
Other side of things too is people are getting desperate and just trading gold for the achieves because they don’t want to deal with the toxic community. Because people posting carry sales has been very active which makes me think it’s probably making them a lot right now.

And I REALLY wanted to like it… I tried very much to… I was and still kind of sort of am determined to keep playing just because idk why… but I am very disappointed.
I could see if happening on high keys, but I’ve never wiped on a boss due to orbs outside of when the end boss of siege was bugged week 1.
It’s more likely to just be a pug issue (just like interrupts).
The extra graphics during swirls on the ground is when orbs get annoying.
The same people who were successful before are successful now. You booted the people who were doing it despite having less success, and now are claiming that reducing the number of lower achievers is a sign of “success”. That’s hilarious. Reducing the number of players in the game makes it less successful, not more. Reducing the number of participants is a sign of weakness, not strength, as in doing this you undercut the future of that content.
I have not done M+ since SL. Heroics are just fine. I see 100% the same instance with 1/10 the tedium. No affixes, no timer, no pugging. Just walk in, hear story, face bosses, and loot everything.
It was a fancy term that sets WoW apart from other games since any other MMO with “Account bound” calls it either account bound or legacy bound. This was simply testing the waters to see how it would all pan out. At some point, ALL currency and Rep will combine without the need to transfer and will pull from one pool, and all Races/Classes/Factions will unlock allowing all of us casuals to play what we want, when we want, where we want, and how we want. It’s getting there but this was a HUGE first step.
We could always use more paths to endgame, but endgame needs to be renamed Heroics and the toxicity that is M+ will fade away. We never had issues gearing in TBC and Wrath, they need to get back to basics. And if people want a “challenge”, your wish is granted. Now you need rep, just like we used to, just to buy a Key to unlock the Heroic and you cannot queue for said heroic if you do not have that key on your keyring.
The first season is always the roughest.

People not knowing the dungeons as well
People being used to super easy content from season 4
Are all major factors in why people are complaining.
The game has evolved. If you want that style of gearing I suggest playing classic.

Haha yup, been doing exact same thing. I have run keys on warrior, but I don’t get invited for anything above a 6 now because all the 7 and 8 key people are 2200 and just in farm mode. It’s not like it’s THAT late in the season but its already starting.
My alts just run delves, convert gear to tier cause lord knows I don’t win any rolls either with the dice. Wish they added personal loot back so psychologically I can’t get mad at other players but just the game. I got more gear on personal loot then I ever have when rolling.
They need to go back to DF season 3, revert so many dumb AOE cap and the dumb recast spam on mobs now after you interrupt.
No need. I have Delves and Crests plus LFR. It’s all the gear I need. 616 is plenty high enough.
So why are you saying the game needs go back to basics?
Delves are boring as is.
I want to do M+, but it’s just not worth the effort. It’s hurting my raiding. I wish it wasn’t so integral to the rest of the game.
I honestly didn’t mind having to do attunements to get into higher difficulty content. The first go around was always fun. I would hope that you would only have to do it once per account, though.
For the same reason you just said this. It’s called an opinion. So, here is my opinion:
If we remove M+ by changing the name back to Heroics, and use the most successful gearing method ever, people could enjoy themselves again. Leave “Mythic” as a challenge mode and simply make a 3rd Tier of gear for those heroics. Think back to ICC in Wrath. You had 3 different colorations of Tier sets for each class.
If T1 is Normal gear, T2 is Heroic gear, and T3 is Challenge Mode gear, people could still chase gear, but instead of being held back by 4 different types of currency that drop everywhere but their content, the Badges would drop and then you upgrade youe T1 to a T2 and when wearing a T2, the better badge drops allowing you to upgrade T2 to T3.
Congrats! You now have the best gear in the game, at the highest challenge, and did not have to farm 4 types of crests and other currency to do it. This means no more timers, but all the same Affixes, and if you do not have all T1 gear, T2 Badges drop. If you do not have all the T2 gear, T3 badges will not drop. Once you upgrade ONE item to the next level, you can now queue into that tier of difficulty.
Literally simplifying the rat race for others while I would be perfectly content in all T1 gear cause all I wanna do is check out the content. Progression is for young gamers with egos and people who love challenges. I am neither

more dungeons, like 10 per patch, since shadowlands we’re eating old dungeons in m+ rotation and it sucks (if you’re going to use old dungeons, make a timewalking challenging session for it)
more mega dungeons and raids
challenging open world activities
but it never going to happen, people are eating sht and loving it
That’s the plan, account wide keyring, but you would still have to gear the alts.
