It’s really hard to come down off an extremely easy, inflated season (Draconic) into one that isn’t artificially propped up.
Blitz is handing out free stuff. go there. or be one of the “a lot” that get the rating.
There’s nothing wrong with players getting rewards. The more people who can obtain these ratings and rewards the healthier the game is. If casual players realize they can get 1800 with relative ease why is that a bad thing?
2.4k shouldnt be so far out of reach for players who have hit the rating previously when mmr was uncapped

Like dampening I’m not sure what they are doing is the correct solution, but i also don’t know of a better one. On one hand if they let everyone blast up to 3k in the first few weeks everyone will be super happy, then a few weeks later everyone will switch to an alt or just stop queuing (this has been proven historically), on the other hand people aren’t getting as high as they want atm, so they are not queuing as much and left feeling like they aren’t getting what they want out of the game. Instead of complaining, try suggesting solutions that would satisfy the community while not ruining participation later in the season.

If there are unique rewards obtained at a certain rating, then that rating should be obtainable. Full stop.
This game is $15 a month. If every bracket were like how shuffle is right now then this game’s PvP would be in a casket. Want more people to PvP? Want more people to queue? Reward them for their accomplishments. Its really simple.
Clearly MMR is a flawed system that is in desperate need of an overhaul if 1 person has achieved 2400 in one bracket that 900 people have achieved in another.

Fear not, all the little people whose only 2.4ks were from shuffle will eventually get there again.

It’s not week 1 of the season but I’ll take that as a “no”, you can’t achieve 2400 in shuffle despite being able to in any other bracket
Again, this all reminds me of Verdant where people couldn’t handle not having 800 free MMR for more than 5 minutes.
ok, to clarify… you’re saying that if you can get to 2400 in a 16 man mode, you should also be able to get to 2400 in a 6 man mode? There’s going to be discrepancies between the 2 modes. due to size of matches and participation.
Pretty sure the game just came out like a month ago and this a thread full of people who clearly don’t understand that MMR / rating ceilings are directly tied to participation (everyone is playing the bg mode rn)

I’m saying rank 1 should not be under 2400 in any bracket a month after the season started. So yes.
ok, so a 2.1 player in shuffle, should also be able to achieve 2.1 in 2s/3s, or a 2400 player in blitz should be able to hit 2400 in RBGs… Do you know anyone whos’ rating across the board matches like this?
Rank 1, is Rank 1, whatever the points may be. Sometimes it’s higher, sometimes it’s lower. The idea that you should be able to achieve the same rating in all brackets, of all sizes, skill level, and participation is just unrealistic, imo. There’s too much of a discrepancy between size of matches and participation.
