There are two ways to "get pvp" in AV

If that’s the case then they seem to be avoiding Chibi’s group, judging by the fact that he and Aisle usually end bgs with few if any deaths.

What sort of names or people are you thinking about? Cause when I think of who I group with a lot on horde, its rogues and warriors and some priests/shamans. Not groups you will find at the front of aoe boosting 180+ pull AV rankers. 41 yard fire mages and hunters own these streets. (with love, someone who has been playing a fire mage lately).

Just off the top of my head, I don’t recall seeing Philjackson, Cheezits and his Siamese twin warrior friend (forget his name), Akma, Bathedinfire, or any of the many BiS-geared ele shammies on hordeside. Maybe they were out there, but I didn’t see them.

I didn’t play this weekend but I can tell you Cheezits and Garykeilor gank on the way to Galv, Bathedinfire sits mid and picks people off, Philjackson is usually in mid as well. Akma is korean I believe so plays at odd times, AV queues may have ended by the time he is able to play.

But as you see, warrior warrior rogue priest and a warlock, not the long-range farming powerhouses mages and hunters are in AV.

I was ranking all weekend, and I was in probably 15 bgs with Chibi’s premade. And in each one of them, they beat the horde like a rented mule. I mean, just destoyed them. And I kept waiting for some counter-punch from the proud Horde pvpers, but it never came. Maybe you guys will make a better showing next AV weekend.

idk if it will to be honest, when i was active last AV weekend by the time chibi was playing i was on a low level alt getting rep, it was like monday morning. I’m not sure if enough people care at that time. Regardless - personally I will likely be stepping away from the game for a little bit due to feeling disheartened and won’t make some pvp weekends, so hope you guys are having fun!

horde new strategy when they are wiped at the start is to sit and cry in the cave- they don’t even bother leaving anymore. Disappointing.

We can, If i bring Sold to Drek, or any other T2+ tank, I can solo heal him while he solo tanks Drek and all the warmasters. It is easier than healing a trash pack in naxx.

Just a few DPS can kill drek in no time because he has a tiny health pool

Hope your energy and love for the game comes back. Enjoy your break!

Yeah because you’re mostly fighting PVE players. After reset queue WSG, you’ll find some savages.

The horde got their honor back tonight. I was on a horde alt in a couple of bgs where the team responded to seeing a premade by going left, wiping the non-premade guys outside of Balinda’s keep, and then moving up towards the premade. I fully expect this will become the standard horde anti-IWB defense strat.

The first bg was clearly a horde premade (even though I don’t know that many of their pvpers) judging by all the raid icons. We pretty easily took care of the non-Chibby premade and won in like 15 minutes.

The second bg was an absolutely epic 90 minute win by the horde against Chibby’s premade- the only one I saw all weekend. The raid icons were all gone for this one, so it wasn’t a horde premade, and Chibby’s team dominated the kills. But we kept fighting (we recapped the relief hut with literally a second left on the timer) then moved north where Chibby and Co. were making their last stand at the aid station graveyard. It took a long, bloody fight to capture the aid station, but, after we did, we were able to kill Vann for the win. Chibby had 143 kills … and lost.

I’m ally first and foremost, but this was an epic underdog win and a testament to not giving up in these turtles. The downside is that this 90 minute turtle was the only AV going at the time, so I’m sure a lot of people were frustrated waiting for a queue to pop.

That explains why the queue time went soooo long last night. I eventually just said “whelp. Guess games are done for the week” and logged out.

Overall it was a really fun AV weekend. Had some really good games sprinkled in the rush. Got to play a few games with forum friends. Cheered for a low level Paladin who hit R11 to get their early epic mount.

Thanks for the games people. Let’s meet up again in three weeks.

If wiping ally non-premaders on their way to Galv becomes the standard Horde response to seeing an Ally premade then it’s going to greatly increase the number of turtles. Whether that’s a good or bad thing obviously depends on your perspective. I guess ally players trying to cap Relief Hut and avoid a turtle could use the open field to avoid the horde zerg. I don’t think Horde players have a similar opportunity since they will presumably get wiped at the IWB checkpoint by the ally premade.

So the task of stopping turtles may fall to alliance relief hut squads maneuvering to avoid the horde zerg, wherever it happens to be.

You must have been on Era AV last night too eh?

Great for people who want more than drek or kek or rush Vann.

Myself on my shaman, and two other buddies did a few games on horde yesterday and did the Galv Post (similar to the alliance stump. 2 games lasted 45 and 50 mins. Another game lasted an about and an hour and 18 min.

Horde won all three, at the start people complained how it was a turtle, after about the 15 min mark only a handful (maybe 2-3) complained and they actually enjoyed the AV match.

I also had 2 games on horde yesterday where there was 0 alliance defense, it took the horde 15 mins to even kill vann when everyone rushed north.

On Anni its total opposite. Allies ride to and kill Drek so fast the hordies basically farm LTs and Bal for honor (still get a lot). But then, all those folks have a reason to pound honor as fast as possible, everybody is ranking.

Yeah, I actually had fun but only because I was honor capped. Really felt for the guys who needed 50k more honor or whatever.

Had a pally I met that was in that boat. He needed 50k, was probably boned.

I just returned, don’t really need it, as I am overgeared and just dicking around on old toons, but I felt bad for him. I think I’ll cap alts at 11 and just call it good. I just hadn’t done ally AV in a long time, as on Anni I am horde.

Assuming Blizz doesn’t change the method of ranking.

You can get 13 in AV even on Era as it is today if you use the breakpoints and spread the process out. 14 is difficult, but won’t be so if mid-week AVs start up again.

Mid week AVs? That something where the clusters all queue up? I am in no discords for era, so if there are popular ones, I would be curious to know. Thanks in advance.
