Assuming Nightfae & ‘Balance of All Things’ Legendary, would it be as follows or am I missing something?
1.) Have moonfire/sunfire up on target(s) already + near full astral power.
2.) Cast 2 Wraths to enter Eclipse
3.) With the bonus dmg of this eclipse & bonus crit of BoAT, cast 2-3 starsurges (depending on astral power).
4.) Celestial Alignment/Incarn for new eclipse
5.) Convoke (since celestial alignment gives new eclipse, you get full bonus of BoAT for the convoke right?).
Please let me know if I’ve got this wrong!
just press convoke dude you’re overthinking it

pool your astral power before you press your convoke and you should macro celestial alignment/incarn with convoke and trinket. BOAT doesn’t last long so you don’t want to be wasting time with multiple button presses. The reason you pool you AP before convoke is in the case you do get stopped on your convoke you still have AP to blast someone as you will still be very buffed up from the CA and soul bind buff if you take that one which you should.
I think cyclone the healer before you convoke the dps is the best rotation
this too. Cyclone the healer or even a DK because AMZ negates the convoke

Oh god yes. So many convokes have gone into that stupid AMZ
Just play kyrian it’s so much better

I’m NF because for the time being I’m playing both Resto & Balance and NF works with both where as Kyrian does not. One day I’ll level Kyrian and Necro but I really don’t feel like doing that anytime soon
kyrian definitely felt better to play but I wanted to try out convoke to see what it was like now I don’t feel like going through the trouble of going back lol.
Wait, you can’t just level both and then swap between your leveled covenants and pick up right where you left off?
Takes a two week quest chain
What takes a two week quest chain? can you elaborate please?
When you want to swap back to a covenant that you’ve already been a part of, you have to complete a two part quest, second part becoming available on the reset after you completed the first part.
So like if you want to switch from night fae back to kyrian, and it’s thursday, you get a quest and complete it, then you wait til tuesday to get the second quest and once you complete the second quest you will be kyrian.
…and then 9.05 comes out and you need 3 more weeks to max out Necrolord…
That seems like a waste of potential dmg though because couldn’t you achieve the same thing in reverse (doing 2-3 starsurges under an eclipse PRIOR to convoke) so even if convoke is stopped you just did starsurges already)… afterall, in your example of ‘if they stop convoke’ what’s the difference if you do the starsurges before or after the attempted convoke?
You aren’t wasting the BoAT proc because you do the initial starsurges under a manual eclipse proc and then do the convoke under a celestial alignment eclipse proc.
The other thing is… if you pool your astral power before using convoke, you’re wasting astral power (i.e. wasting dmg) because convoke gives you astral power but you were already capped… Am I not seeing something?
i want the most starsurges possible for the 30 second window when they do the most damage. I pool about 50-60 AP. After the convoke, kick or no kick I want to have as much AP as possible. Yeah you could do it the way you do it there are many ways to do damage and honestly it will change based on situation. But for me convoke ending and having to building AP again for starsurges is the bigger waste than whatever starsurges i miss out on that aren’t really that buffed up anyway. Also you don’t get that much AP from convoke anymore since FM is taken off. Before I could start at zero AP and end with 100 after the convoke. That hasn’t happened since the nerf. But maybe i’m not doing it the most optimal maximum dps way but have 2-3 starsurges in the bag after convoke to spit out instantly on top of having fury or elune for one or two more makes that 30 second kill window very deadly. For me maximizing that 30 second kill window is the most important thing.
