Aside from Rogue, what really fits Goblins? I wanna make a second one
Until tinkerer exists, ima stick with rogue final answer
Hunter. Particularly survival in TWW with the emphasis on explosives.
I have a rogue. I was just wanting to make a second goblin
I have a goblin rogue and DK.
I would say maybe hunter? Since they have traps and stuff. And can get robot pets to lean into the inventor/engineer vibe.
Warlock
dark deals, sla- I mean “contracted” demons, and meddling with powers best left alone fits goblins pretty well.
Gob Squad
Patch = Hunter
Grit = Priest (Medic)
Newt = Rogue
Ticker Warrior / Shaman hybrid
Volt = Hunter
–
Warlock = Mastery of Contracts; tricking Demons into life long servitude with a splash of Better Call Saul / Used Car lot Salesman type of charisma.
Mage = Similar to a gnome Book Worm, but figuring around the ethics to make gold with the power of Arcane (Your not so friendly Bill Nye, or Dr. Rusty Venture).
Priest = Televangelist.
Warrior = Club Owner / Bouncer / Loan Shark
Rogue = Trafficker / Dealer
Shaman = Tim Curry level Eco Villain from Captain Planet, using technology, ancestorial knowledge and charisma and air tight contracts to trick the elements into being a fuel / power source.
Death Knight = Mechanic/Auto/Chop Shop Owner-Operator resurrected.
Hunter = World Renown Hit man to front line goon armed with boomsticks or pokey on a broom stick.
Yeah, what other people said. Hunter, and then if you wanna be an engineer to top it off, that sounds pretty cool
Really, just be an engineer. Then play any class. Honestly I think goblins are more suited to engineering than they are to any particular class
My rogue is an engineer. Cause I wanted to lean into a saboteur-thief type story for her. Crafting and planting explosives while cutting a few throats and stealing coin
Edit: Though, she also is looking to be one of the best engineers around
I think you’ve slam dunked the goblin race as a whole then
Yeah… I may go with my original thought for a second goblin. Shaman. Just cause, when I finally decided to look into why they could be shamans, I couldn’t help finding it funny they basically made contracts with the elements in exchange for their power (and we know how the elements feel about people using them purely for their power)
I do like the idea of goblins, being as chaotically genius / insane as they are, having a tight knit relationship with like fire elementals and just talking about how much they like to see things blow up or catch on fire.
So yeah, shaman seems cool. Or mage
I think I’ll make her an alchemist too, just to lean into at least the alchemical side of Goblins. Realizing it would’ve probably been better with the rogue, poisons and such, but i’ve dedicated a ton of resources into her already to boost her engineering skill in several expansions worth of stuff (master of engineering, after all), so I don’t wanna reset all that and have wasted the resources.
goblin hunters and shaman.
but no matter what, you need to have eng prof.
Warlocks. Abusing any power for your own gain, enhancing your powers, making gold selling your services, summons, stones, Warlocks are inherently greedy, violent and self serving, so if you as a Goblin decide to conform to your stereotypes, Locks a great way to do it.
Idk why but ive always associated goblins with priests.
I just realised that the techno stuff destroys a lot of the class fantasy that goblins usually have, like the more primal stuff.
Every shaman has a contract with the elementals
Goblins just have the honesty to call it what it is.
Priest. Hear me out. There’s a goblin central quest in azshara and they fly down from the sky, heal the injured, and give them a bill. They straight up charge for it. It’s amazing.
Personally I love going with what could be perceived as an underdog or a unique oddity amongst their people — So go with shamanism on my goblin
I roleplay as my goblin shaman as:
- One who can be both depicted as cold & harsh yet fair – and warm & caring yet cautious. Each established appropriately in respective situations.
- One who is spiritual.
- A goblin who respects the elemental spirits & lords – Yet holds a degree of cunning mischievousness amongst them.
- And ultimately holds to be wise & nurturing to the world around them.
Honestly I find the contrast to be fascinating & intriguing amongst the goblins – which is why I probably enjoy having Gazlowe as the new trade-prince, given he fits into that stigma somewhat.
