Chapter 3 Finale
World Update
The coalition of allied forces laid siege to Black Rook Hold, where the ley-lines of the Broken Isles were being diverted and extremely dark magics could be sensed. The groups converged and infiltrated the catacombs and confronted Herobreaker, where they were unable to prevent the resurrection of the lich, Lady Damndfate.
Teleported out of the catacombs and into one of the spires above, the coalition found all three scourge commanders, Lady Damnedfate, the Wyrmflayer and the Herobreaker, working from behind a powerful barrier as they worked to complete a ritual, draining power from the lichâs phylactery to create and empower a new Relic of Domination. Three furious frostwyrms descended upon the party, but were ultimately defeated.
Damage to the barrier was eventually sufficient to take it down, but not before the Relic of Domination could be completed and donned by Lady Damnedfate. With it, she exerted mind control over all undead members of the allied forces, turning them against their own. The battle was fought on two fronts, until things went from bad to worse: a new Necropolis warped overhead, engaging the party with aerial assaults of arcane and death magics.
The party overwhelmed and the battle lost, magi opened portals and the coalition retreated to Dalaran, knowing the power the scourge now have and that the threat of an attack from above was now very much a possibility.
Many party members are recovering from wounds that range from serious to critical in the Dalaran Infirmary. Dalaran, Suramar and the whole of the Broken Isles are urged to be on high alert. The cities of Azeroth are asked to prepare for the possibility of more necropoli.

Chapter 4
Campaign Update
An urgent briefing turned into a heated debate in Hearthglen this week.
The Argent Crusade briefed the group of heroes on the Scourge advancement and their current level of power as well as the threat they pose to all of Azeroth. It is decided that the time to be on the defensive is over, and the group must confront the three Scourge commanders in Northrend.
Intelligence reports suggest two paths to Icecrown.
-
To the east, passage through Grizzly Hills seems to be fairly free of undead activity, and would provide the quickest way to Icecrown, where it is rumoured that more Necropoli are being built.
-
To the west, the magi of Amber Ledge have sent out a distress call, indicating that the entire region is overrun with Scourge, and their outpost is on the brink of falling. If this path is chosen, the Scourge would be confronted directly immediately, yet there is a possibility the magi will have knowledge that will help our heroes defeat the undead forces.
After both plans were discussed, a vote was held, and by a final result of 8 to 7, it was seemingly decided to begin the journey in Borrean Tundry and come to the aid of Amber Ledge.
However, two groups were absent from the meeting: The Wolfmane Tribe, and the Duskwatch Sabreguard. These two orders have been staunch allies, and it has been decreed that they shall be contacted and given the chance to have their voices heard.
In the meantime, preparations are under way: supplies, clothing, weapons and food must be gathered. Spells, charms, amulets and talismans must be charged. Prayers and blessings must be spoken. All to give our heroes the best chance at surviving not just the Scourge, but the frigid winds of Northrend, and of fate.
Next event: Saturday October 16th at 5pm!
A short story, to set the moodâŚ
Preparations.
Axiann Sungazer, the Sunreaver Magister and leader of the Dalaran unit, was frantically at work packing for the urgent trip to come.
Food and water were a secondary priority to him. A devoted and skilled mage, he was more focused on having the right spell with him than on having his favorite pastry or canteen. He was grateful that Miss Noel, the Towerâs curator, had been spending the last few years meticulously cataloguing and categorizing the contents of the Towerâs libraries, which was most helpful when one need to pack as quickly as Axiann currently did.
He walked from bookcase to bookcase, collecting tomes and scrolls, packing them away in a wooden crate that would be brought with him aboard the Argent ship that would carry the coalition to the frozen north. His initiates had been sent to collect reagents in the enchanting parlour, while Guardians were preparing the Dragonhawks and Hawkstriders for the trip.
Sunreaver Sentinels and been ordered to prepare for one of two duties: sailing up north, or joining the Kirin Tor Guardians in securing Dalaran while the others were away. Meanwhile, Scouts were already on their way, ahead of the fleet.
There was lots to do, with the city going on partial lockdown, the Council fearful for an attack by Mordramus, and the coalition of allied forces preparing to depart to confront the Scourge head on.
Axiann was anxious as he packed. Northrend had been no picnic when they last joined the Crusader to put a stop to such a world-threat, and this battle would be no easier. He wondered how many of them would return, this time. And how many would never again leave Northrend.
The odds were against them. While the armies that converged on Icecrown had been immense and impressive years ago, this time the Scourge had sown such fear into the hearts of the citizens of Azeroth that few had volunteered. Most stayed close to home, defending their cities and protecting their loved ones. The scourge had managed to herd the innocents of the world into closed of cities and settlements.
Axiann grabbed what he could, placed the last scrolls into the over-stuffed crate and closed it shut. His people had been briefed and others left in charge while he was gone. There wasnât much left to do but join the others and board the vessel.
Thatâs when the knock on the door came. He wondered who could be asking to see him nowâŚ
I hope it hasnât been tooâŚ

Departure
A short story
Ethanâtolas stood on the deck of his ship, The Everdawn, one boot on the railing, looking down at the dozens of passengers he would be ferrying. The crowd packed vessel was quite different from his usual crew of five, plus himself, but he welcomed that change.
For months, he and his Farstrider crew sailed along the coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, investigating port after port, helping those they could, documenting the times they were too late, all from this damned Scourge invasion that gripped the continent.
A few times, he and his people had come face to face with the undead forces. Outnumbered, they usually retreated back to the ship, leaving behind any poor souls who have been fighting for their lives. Ethanâtolas hated those moments, and couldnât help but hold the rest of the Farstriders in contempt.
Meetings were held in the various Farstrider Lodges and Enclaves throughout the Eversong Woods, and it was unanimously decided that the rangers should stay close to home and defend QuelâThalas from any potential Scourge attack on their lands, or on the Sunwell.
Ethan thought this was incredibly short sighted. The time for running was over, and they would never win if they didnât take the fight to the Scourge commanders and ended this. The hordes of undead had made isolationists of the various nations, and this had to end.
He was thrilled when he had heard of a coalition of allied forced looking for passage to Northrend. He has immediately docked at Sunsail Anchorage and offered up his ship, and his crew, to the mission ahead.
*Quarters would be cramped, and the vessel was packed with people and supplies. But the ship was equipped with enchanted sails, and would get the heroes to the Borean Tundra in record speeds. *
As the last of the heroes boarded the vessel and the anchor was pulled up, Ehtanâtolas looked out to the storm clouds on the horizon, just beyond QuelâThalasâ weather spell. The Northern Sea was no pleasure cruise, and he hoped the men and women aboard knew that.
âWelcome aboard,â Ethanâtolas cried out to the dozens on deck. âToday, we shove off for Northrend. We will not stop until we are on the Scourgeâs doorstep, and burn down their command. For QuelâThalas, and for Azeroth!â
âFor Azerothâ came several shouts from the crowd, who seemed to be in remarkable spirits.
âCrew, shove off!â
And the vessel pointed its bow North-West, heading right for the center of the storm.
Some very fun on-ship RP was enjoyed last night, as we are en route to Northrend!
Happening today!
One hour until our event!
Happy Sunday Morning, friends!
Chapter 4
Campaign Update
After days spent navigating the unforgiving seas of the north, the Farstrider ship The Everdawn made landfall and docked at a rotting platform near Garrosh Landing in the Borean Tundra.
The group of heroes, under the leadership of the Argent Crusade, began their push up the path towards the distressed magi of Amber Ledge. They fought through scores of ghouls, the first waves felled rather easily. Yet the numbers kept increasing, as infected locals began attacking the party as well, freshly corrupted as evidenced by their non-decaying flesh. The local farm settlements had been recently attacked, the land rotting and toxic, the livestock decaying in the fields.
As the heroes fought their way up the path, it gave out on them, causing several allies to plumet 7 or 8 feet and sustain the first real injuries of the battle. Yet, the group pressed on. The closer the heroes got to Amber Ledge, the more scourge they had to slice their way through: undead ghouls, spell-wielding cultists with ice-blue eyes, and undead drakes who unleashed their frost breath onto the party. The healers and medics worked harder than ever to keep the fighters alive and well, saving more than one from the brink of death.
A final battle against several lieutenants was especially brutal. Banding together, the group unleashed their all and won, leaving but two lieutenants, who retreated. The group completed their advance and secured Amber Ledge, welcomed by the surviving Kirin Tor magi.
Amber Ledge will become the coalitionâs base in the area for the foreseeable future, as the group unravels the Scourge plans and any knowledge the Kirin Tor may have that could help turn the tides of this great struggle.
I think I might haveâŚ

Trigger warning for this event!
Body horror and humanoid experimentation.
