Chapter 3
World Update
Allied Forces journeyed to a place called the Heart of Fear, the suspected location, as reported by scouts, of the scourge in the area. Several undead Mantid were found there, and were eventually slain. After freeing a group of Mantid that were still living and untainted by the Plague or influence of the Scourge, our forces learned that the āHerobreakerā, a Scourge Commander only heard of in whispers, was responsible for the Pandaria operations from the spread of Plague through Brew to the strip mining of resources.
Below the Heart of Fear, behind the protection of a unit of Undead Mantid Paragons, a Mantid Vizier in the service of the Scourge forged crystals of great power out of Kyparite and infused them with ley energy diverted via portals, charging them before they were transported to Icecrown, clearly visible through the threshold, for yet unknown purposes.
Armed with weapons of the Mantid, coalition forces stormed the choke point and engaged the Paragons. As combat proceeds, strange hallucinations begin to grip our fighters, their worst fears taking manifest before them, paralyzing many and bringing others to the brink of loss before the Paragons were finally defeated.
Rushing to the chamber below, allied forces came face to face with the Mantid Vizier working alongside a Nerubian Scourgelord, their tormentor. The Undead Vizier sealed off the chamber entry with amber and worked to briskly complete their task at hand, finishing the empowerment of another strange Kyparite crystal and sending it through the a portal while buying their Commander the time to leave with the valuable asset.
With the Nerubian safely away, the Vizier prepared another crystal and opened the portals once more, beginning the process of infusing it with energy. Fleeing to a vista of ice through another portal, the amber barrier shattered and our forces found themselves cheated of their engagement with the commander or the Undead Mantid behind their forces in Pandaria.
The area has now been secured, and Allied Forces have begun preparations to return to Dalaran, confident that local defenders can hold the line against any remain scourge.

World Update
A report by Argent commander Vadinnar:
*Arriving at Azurewing Repose, coalition forces quickly learned the dire situation within Azsuna. An expedition of the Blue Dragonflight and Kirin Tor, investigating the reported leyline disruptions, are felled by the Scourge near Zarkhenar. Accounts by a passerby reveal the presence of a Death Knight of uncommon ability devastating the force, and raising the drakes as Wyrms after their fallā¦ *
*With the Blue Dragonlight unable to commit more immediate assistance with the specter of the Wyrmflayer looming over the potential fight, our forces push towards Zarkhenar. It isnāt long before our first obstacle, the discovery that the Scourge are utilizing Undead Withered is presented. The Shalādorei of the Duskwatch among our forces are particularly disturbed by this. The Withered drone on, conducting the labor of extracting and gathering ley energy at the ruins before carrying like a string of ants away to the northeast. Our forces waste little time in engaging, getting the attack of opportunity on the Withered and striking them down with little effort. *
A maniacal laugh in the distance as an eruption of Arcane energy surges from the crags and crevices of the pools, catching several of our forces off guard. Charging down further into the ley ruins our forces find the elusive Undead Mantid Vizier overseeing the ruins operation and manipulating the energies of the exposed leylines to assault the approaching force. The engagement proceeds, the last of the defending Undead Withered being struck down as the Vizier is taken head on. Eruption after eruption of energy from the pools of ley energy besiege coalition forces as they press upon the Mantid. Clear frustrations from the prior encounter with the Vizier carried into the encounter, as many of the group unleash rather unforgiving assaults on the Undead, despite the assault of ley energy.
The Vizier makes a full retreat, attacking desperately as it attempts to flee to what it perceives as safety, making it as far as the edge of Suramarās shattered shoals just outside Falanaar before finally being struck down. Left on the shore of Suramar, our forces investigate only to find two particular possibilities before themā¦ pursuing the fleeing Undead Withered as they flee into the forested border of Suramar and Valāsharah, or venturing towards the ruins of Falanaar and the Mantidās destination.
End of report.
Next event:
A meeting will occur un the Purple Parlor in Dalaran (WotLK) to discuss which path forward to take.
It is also of note that three ships, carrying food supplies from Westfall to Stormwind City, have been reported lost with all hands. Citizens in Stormwind are asked to ration their food supplies for the time being.
It is also being reported that infirmaries in Orgrimmar are at capacity, with many citizens begin to exhibit signs of malnutrition. Any available healers, with any degree of training, are asked to report for duty to help in any way that they can.
The Kirin Tor portal network, linking major cities in Azeroth, is still stable.
Today (Monday, September 6th) at 5pm:
Emergency meeting in the Purple Parlor (old Dal) to discuss a path forward in the Broken Isles!
Falanear or Falafaar,
Please enjoy this weekās promotional material.
Weāre coming up fast on the climax of Chapter 3, and a lot of questions remain to be answered: what were the Scourge doing with the kyparite? What about the mana storage cells? Whatās happening in ValāSharrah? What about Falanaar? Has the Wyrmflayer returned to corrupt the First Forest as he had attempted in Ashenvale? Where is this Herobreaker? What of the Scourgelord who fled from the Dread Wastes? And where is Damnedfateās phylactery?
After a rigorous discussion, the group decided to proceed into the dark tunnels of Falanaar. Scouts scurry across the region, grasping at any intelligence they can get. Meanwhile, scholars and investigators pour over the evidence so far while scrying the Leylines for whatever they can manage.
Join us this week as we leap towards the endgame of Chapter 3!
One more day until our next event!!
danger
About two hours until our event!
Look for pre-made group YOTS:Falanaar to join, and we HIGHLY recommend using Cross RP!
World Update
Reports indicate that over the last 24 hours, the coalition of allied forces, joined by the Duskwatch Saberguard, local defenders from the Suramar region in the Broken Isles, ventured into the underground tunnels at the ruins of Falanaar. Scouts had reported Faldorei operations that seemed to indicate they were allied with the scourge in the area.
The coalition infiltrated the tunnels at roughly 17h30 hours. The tunnels were quiet, the air, stale and thin. Screams could be heard in the distance, supporting reports of live hostages.
A Nerubian Necrolord was found to be waiting for the group, and killed off the remaining hostages as they entered its lair. A harsh battle was fought, with few casualties, which eventually lead to the party giving chase to a retreating Necrolord.
The threat was cornered in another vast chamber, and eventually defeated. That is when the party learned they had been betrayed from within: the Dreanei ally, by the name of Muaniir, was in fact the infamous Herobreaker, third scourgeglord.
The battle that ensued was hard fought, as the coalition fought not only Herobreaker, but also vast mobs of Faldorei. Several casualties were sustained, and the order soon given by Argent commander Vadinnar to retreat.
The escape was difficult, with Faldorei blocking the partyās path and the Herobreaker on their tail. The webbing leading up to the surface was eventually cut, causing the collapse of the entire structure the group were climbing.
Even so, the entire group made it to the surface, save for Commander Vadinaar, who fell back into the tunnels along with Herobreaker. The commander remains missing.
The coalition retreated back to Meredil, in Suramar, where the injured are being treated, and leaders plan their next move.
Villages and towns in Suramar are asked to secure the perimeter and shelter in place. Any who are close enough are asked to find refuge in Suramar City for the time being.
Our next event:

Dread Commander Muaniir the Herobreaker and Rider Zekāthal the Wyrmflayer have barred themselves within Black Rook Hold, hording massive amounts of energy and supplies, but for what ends? Our heroes canāt let them bury their roots in the Broken Isles! Itās time to drive them from the lands! Butā¦ can they?
Weāre excited to bring Chapter 3 to a close! To reveal what the Scourge have been working on for months! To come head-to-head with our deadliest foes! Join us this week to wrap up this chapter of Year of the Scourge!
Meanwhileā¦ an initial scouting mission has turned up the following documents:
I thank you for the latest shipment. With it, I have been able to complete the project. I am eager for your inspection and approval. If I might be so bold as to boast, it is my finest work. Frankly, the ochre metal your endeavors procured performed well beyond my expectations. Initial experiments with the living have suggested they may go mad in a matter of minutes while wandering the halls. Of course, the entire structure is highly resilient and lighter than expected, allowing more of the Focusing Irisās power to be directed towards experimentation and weapons. I wish you luck with your own endeavors, and may our Lady be returned to us swiftly.
Humbly yours,
Obrahiim the Traveler

Can the heroes figure out what the Scourge are doing? Or will they just have to improvise?
The first day of Fall.
The day when light and darkness were equal, in perfect balance. The hot days of summer had given way to milder days and cooler nights. The lush green landscapes of many parts of Azeroth were starting to turn to fiery shades of yellows, oranges and reds. A time to celebrate the bounty of the land, to harvest the crops and to reflect on oneās blessings.
But this would not be the case for many, this year.
Many farms had been destroyed or plagued by the scourge, and food supplies were dangerously low. The country side was dangerous, the roads mostly unguarded and villages and towns left to fend for themselves.
The major cities, Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and others, had shut their gates and were overflowing with thousands of refugees, the only safe sanctuaries from the roaming hordes of undead that wandered the land on every continent. Malnutrition was common, and disease was creeping up. Infirmaries were full, and the healers were overworked.
City guards were made up of few veterans, and many volunteer civilians, with varying degrees of battle training, who had enlisted to help as the soldiers of Azeroth were few and spread thin following the Fourth War.
With so many of Azerothās leadership still missing, messages and orders were often sparse and conflicting. The Horde Council dealt with the situation as best it could, as did the Regent High Exarch Turalyon of the Alliance. Defense was the priority, followed by feeding, housing and treating the sicknesses of citizens. All within very limited space.
And in a few months, Winter would come.
Just a few more days until our chapter 3 finale!!!
