The writing in Dragonflight sure is something

Yeah, the writing is garbage, what’s new?

Millenial writers. They’ve been creeping their way into everything and there’s been a sharp spike in how obnoxious it is in Dragonflight. They’re a blight on entertainment media.

Lots of people in the thread are saying Chromie was always like this, and they aren’t necessarily wrong, but even she wasn’t quite this bad.

This is what you sound like:

I’d call it more recycling. Dragonflights good garbage compared to the reset of it

No, it’s just normal garbage.

Just ramblin ^^;

Chromie has gnome energy, who would’ve thought?

I’m sorry this isn’t the JRR Tolkien masterpiece you thought it was, lmao.

It’s an MMO ffs, gameplay always triumphs over story & lore.

I’m sure you don’t remember TBC where we just pretty much killed any lore-significant character without any real motives (They all got recycled later, lmao)- point is, WoW’s story and writing has never been anything to write home about, except in small portions. DF is no different.

Ok, still garbage.

I find the majority of people I play retail with are Gen Z

:frowning:
And now I’m sad

Garbage will do that sometimes.

ok ok I get it -_-

I kind of hate the “Oh Ho, I hope there’s no creepy spooky spiders in here” dialog surrounding the spider boss in Vault of the Incarnates.

This is an immortal, hundreds of years old dragon who is the Aspect of Arcane magic. Talking to Khadgar, a veteran of several world wars and survivor of The Sons of Lothar, marooned in Outland for two decades.

Mincing over spiders like a pair of twelve year olds…

That’s nice, glad to see you get the garbage.

I mean, you’ve heard how Samwise Gamgee talks right? Almost as infuriatingly chipper and English as Chromie is. -.-

A spider the size of a house, admittedly.

I don’t remember Samwise being super chipper when Orcs were trying to kill him.

Yea it’s pretty terrible. They really need Metzen overlooking this stuff. He was solid at doing humor in a pop culture way without being overly Uwu about it around every corner. The furries are running the roost now

I’m sure you think you could do a better job, I don’t think it’s good writing either… in all reality though, has WOW’s writing ever been… relatable or immersive? Not really.

He has a whole speech as they’re hiking up the side of Mount Doom where he’s about five seconds from launching into Always Look on the Bright Side of Life except it hadn’t been written yet.
