The Wrath Era Thread

The topic is spammed, I did not imply you were the spammer. Chances are as you said, this was due to your petition link and petitions in general.

The threads are being marked as spam because that is what they are at this point.

Last I checked petition didn’t even crack 300 votes with thousands of views just shows. How unwanted a wrath era server is despite what the forum sock puppets will have you believe.

It’s at 340 after only a few days for a niche video game request and isn’t allowed to stay up on the forums for said video game lol

Just to clarify, you’re saying the petition on the third-party website didn’t crack 300 votes, while the thread topic had thousands of views? Maybe consider the view-to-post ratio of topics on the forums themselves. They’re usually at least this bad, even for ideas that have broad support. And it’s even harder to convince people to follow an external link, let alone sign a petition. I haven’t even signed it, and I’m extremely pro Wrath-Era.

And yet here you are, desperate to help bump it because you don’t want Wrath-era servers? Glad to see the anti-Wrath-era trolls are so salty they have to penny pinch any argument for a win.

The game with 100 thousand+ players couldn’t get 300 votes. :man_shrugging: seems unwanted to me seen it posted on reddit posts and Facebook pages let alone this forum so way more then 1000’s of views on it.

only matters if those are all people signing the petition. Most likely the people viewing it are either joining in to troll/cry or just read the trolling and crying.

Fixed it for you

Deunan, what he’s implying is not everyone who read the post was compelled to sign it, but a decent amount of them did. Not that the views validate the idea.

Blizzard would make more in one whale then the whole of those 300 subs :man_shrugging:

Ah fair enough, I misread.

No worries

wrath failed imo. pvp bgs are a waste, has bots, arena has better rewards making bgs feel useless. everyone raid logs, gear doesn’t feel rewarding, it took too long to level 70 - 80. no world pvp. previous raids are useless, etc. I had more fun in TBC

EDIT: Please report actual trolls. Thanks.

I agree that no world pvp on any large server other than Grob is lame. This would hopefully be fixed if servers are condensed for era though. For example Whitemane Vanilla Era has a ton of horde and I saw a video where someone did a server tour of Stormwind on Whitemane where there were a ton of alliance. There were 11 AVs running when he checked the battle master.

A lot of these issues are inherently part of WoW though. For example, arena has always offered better gear than BGs.

I’m on Benediction and won’t be transferring my toons(I’m stingy) but would like to start fresh if the new Wrath servers doesn’t fill up which I’m sure will happen.

Veteran player here, I would totes prefer a Wrath-Era Server.

For me, Cataclysm’s cons far outweigh the pros. One such con is the consolidation of character stats and the ridiculous increase in said stats. No more do melee classes have armor penetration or tanks have defense rating/parry/block, instead there is just: absurd amounts of base stats per armor piece. I feel like this was a step down in the wrong direction.

Another con for me: forcing players to spend 31 talents into one tree and essentially killing hybrid-speccing. Sure, there was a fair-bit of bloat talents, but I think that was the beauty of investment in said bloat-talents. With the Cataclysm Talent System, I feel the reward for investing talents (i.e., a Hunter investing points into Survival and finally getting Explosive Shot at level 60 vs being given explosive shot at level 10 or so) has been taken away and the time to learn a class specialization has been spoonfed to us.
I would love to see some of the Cataclysm Talent Nodes (the mage talent that increases that number of Missiles shot with Arcane Missiles) in a post-wrath update that doesn’t include Cataclysm; I feel like that sort of creativity would convince me to invest more points into Arcane, y’know?

One pro I like about Cataclysm: new zones, particularly zones we’ve been dreaming of since Vanilla, such as Uldum! Instead of increasing the level-cap, why not just create new zones with new enemies, mechanics, armor, while keeping the level cap as is? There isn’t a set in stone law about increasing level-cap, is there? It may just be me, but I feel there is a lack of creativity with increasing level-cap for the sake of it. Let me know your opinions.

This is good analysis about the way that tanking changes. I have never played a tank at high level in earlier expansions so I never would have known about this. I hope I get the opportunity to experience it in a Wrath Era environment. I plan on leveling a tank DK alt and a rogue as my new dps main if this pans out.

Maybe an idea for Cata+ (or Wrath+ I guess) but for now they want to deliver an authentic Cata experience, as they did with Vanilla, TBC and Wrath.
While I understand that you weight those two cons a lot, many people think its a good change or don’t care (me) and what to re-experience Cata how it was.
